Reminds me of my '01 Grand Prix. The two front bearings were so loud at 75k miles. The rear ones are just now starting to get louder at 100k.
So should the 2010 have the updated part?
I'm sure it will do better than my GM car.
I'll be happy if I don't have to replace the window motors / regulators constantly. I've done the procedure 4 or 5 times on my Grand Prix.
2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (supercharged 3.8L v6) - love this old car, I really miss the HUD (heads up display) when I drive other cars. Love the supercharger whine.
05 corolla S - econ car for long trips...light and relatively fun to drive
00 Yamaha R6 - just sold it before long honeymoon trip to Fiji, New Zealand, Hawaii....really miss it now
My bro's 93 Saleen....garage queen...show car. He sold it a few years ago for the same reason as I did my bike.
Bro's daily driver 07 Mustang GT
Did anyone else catch that article in Motor Trend or Car & Driver where they tested 5-6 cars to see if the brakes could over power the engine at WOT.
Every car was able to stop with the gas pedal stuck at WOT. It only took the Steeda or Saleen Mustang a significant amount of distance to stop the car.
The 3.5L V6 in our 2010 does pretty well, unless I'm constantly flooring it.
Are there official MPG numbers yet on the 2011 2.0 turbo engine for the Edge?
You can also protect those areas with a car polish instead of a traditional wax product.
When I polish my cars, I put Zaino on the windows, the black trim, the headlights, tail lights. It comes off easily and doesn't leave white residue like wax.
I'd be afraid that after a few years of drying it that way, the molding and emblems could be more prone to falling off.
The driver door molding on my old '01 Grand Prix just came off and I had to reattach it with 3M dbl sided tape.
I just use a california water blade and then gently dry off the car with a big towel. I also open the doors and cargo lift gate to wipe down those areas.
my poor molding falling off
I've been using Zaino products for years when I got my first new car (2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP S/C).
If you can spend about an hour on the car, I'd recommend giving it a thorough wash and then using a quick detailing spray like the Z6 or the "Grand Finale" spray they have (don't remember the Z* number).
Every 6 months to a year, try to find the time to polish the paint with the Z2 show car polish or the daily driver all in one stuff.
That's nice to know in case a headlight goes out. We can just yank out a fog bulb and use that.
FYI, I always use the Sylvania bulb guide website to figure out what bulbs any car uses when I've gotta replace one.
