I am having same exact issue. Am planning to have service look at it when I go in for first oil change. In the mean time, I will try the child lock trick.

Just had the "update" installed last week. System seems the same as before. My problem has been complete system hang and blamk screen that is resolved by the popular "fuse 29 pull". Tech did not show a lot of confidence when asked how the update went. I just ran the utility to verify what is installed and reported it back to syncmyride.com. The site tells me I need the new update. Question in my mind - is the status utility wrong or did the tech not do the update??? Due for first oil change in 2K miles. Will ask more probing questions then.

I have noticed the same ticking. Took it in to dealer last week and was told that tech confirmed the noise. Then ... was told that Ford is aware of issue and has instructed dealers not to try and fix until they research and develop a solution. They "think" the issue is not causing harm and would let me know when a TSB is issued by Ford. When I asked how long I should wait to hear - I was told not to worry, they would be in touch. I am 2K away from first oil change and plan to follow up then. Will report back when I know more.
