  1. Cold air on the drivers side and hot on the passenger side. I would believe the actuator is tied in with the sync? I had the sync module replaced after months of on and off issues and electrical issues with the driver side door sensor and now this. My Edge lease is up April and I like it enough to buy it but with these issues cropping up I'm having reservations of buying it and then the continuing problems come out of my wallet.
  2. With the temperature dropping I turned the heat on but was still not warming up. The left vent on the center dash and the upper vent near the driver side door was not even blowing Luke warm. Checked the vents on the right side/ passenger and they were super hot so hopefully the actuator is the issue. Is this an all day disassemble the dash job?
  3. I have a 2012 Edge and between the top of the doors to the roof there is a glossy plastic piece. Someone in my family tried to remove the snow with a scraper and it left several scratches on each side post. Being glossy and plastic is there a way to try and remove these scratch? Any advice is welcome.
  4. The same problem has started on my '12 Edge. I get the indicator that the door is ajar and seems like the sensor is the issue. It would've be that bad but it prevents the front and rear reading lights from going off and the walk lights under the mirrors stay on also. I don't want to come out one morning to a dead battery so I'll be taking it back to the dealer. Is this usually a part they have in stock?
  5. With the weather in NJ this winter being so cold I have it set so the car runs for 15 minutes with the sync screen climate set manually. When I get in after running it remotely my settings are off and just the defrost is on. It was so much easier with my 08 Escape, simple knobs and the heat came on as I had left it. The Sync is electronic overkill for me.
  6. Still going over the settings and the remote still doesn't turn the heat on after the new module was installed. It also resets previous settings when you put the key in and to on. I also notice now that the gas readings fluctuate more as I had more mileage left after the visit than when I dropped it off and it filled to 400 miles which I've never seen it do when filling the tank. I will have to call for some specific answers on the remote and if going aftermarket voids anything.
  7. Hopefully I will have it back later in the day and I'll post what was done. Finding an older post of mine the '11 Edge also had the same remote issue, it was my 2008 Escape that the heat came on with the remote.
  8. I did not have this issue with my 2011 Edge but do with my 2012. I went through the options on the dash and it seemed like everything was good but no luck. After going back and checking the manual it distinctly says the heating controls will not operate by remote starter until the key is inserted. Thursday it goes in to have the Sync unit replaced and I will ask them about what can be done with the remote start.
  9. It is a Ford fob. Almost identical to the original fob but with the 2x button added. It looks to be the 100 Series but I believe the manual says the dual heat controls wont run the previous settings until the key is inserted and turned to the on position. To change the settings, is it on the dash or Sync screen (which crashed and is being replaced)? Thanks for the assistance.
  10. I had my dealer install a remote start for my '12 Edge but it does not turn on the heat controls until the key is inserted, defeating the purpose of a remote start. I have read this is how it is designed but does Ford offer different remote start units that will turn the heat on or would I need to go with an aftermarket one?
  11. I just had mine go out on my 2012 and since it was a lease I had the dealer look at it. After having it most of yesterday they determined the unit needed to be ordered and replaced. It's such a pain because the radio, heating controls, back up camera and diagnostics are in that one unit.
  12. I purchased a 2011 Edge Limited last spring and had the dealer install a remote start for it shortly after. The weather was warmer then but this being the first winter with it I have come across issues controlling the climate with the remote starter. I had a 2008 Escape with a remote start where everything came on where you set it the night before but with the Edge you are suppose to put it on Auto and everything would turn on when remote started. Doesn't happen. It doesn't really heat up inside like it would manually and I have yet to see the mirrors and seat heaters come on, and this was at 19F. I have seen posts on the forum about being able to adjust settings on the Sync but there is nothing there to configure a remote starter. It was dealer installed not done at the factory. I really like the Edge but it would prevent me from keeping it when the lease is up or buying another one if this can't be corrected. Has anyone else come across and corrected these issues?
  13. Thanks curlysir. I used the Catch-All brand on my Escape and they don't use the holes/tabs so that's not a problem but I would hate to purchase them and the two model years end up being different shapes.
  14. I just got a 2011 Edge and want to replace the OEM floor mats with Catch-All mats. Are the 2010 and 2011 mats the same? The Catch-All mats are available up to 2010.
