We have plenty of starbucks up here, but we tend to be big on community and bucking the system. So small businesses seem to do really well, plus you add not having to stop and get out of your car for a hot coffee on a -15 degree morning and you are set.

I have lived here most of my life so I find there are definitely "Alaska only" things, so I just never know.
