No. 149 here. Being a Ford OAC worker I was here mostly between Dec. 06 and Feb.07 just to get info on production and gauge interest in our new product. Since everything seems to be very positive (and believe me,we do appreciate the compliments and feedback) I've mostly just been lurking.

Absolutely Robert!! Ive been driving Rangers since 98. I'm on my 4th lease and going for another in 08. I've worked at OTP and OAP (now OAC) for 23yrs. and have always wanted to buy something that we build but we just haven't built anything that fits my needs. Love just about everything the Edge has but I don't think I could get a load of top-soil in the back and the Ranger is a lot cheaper to go to and from work(90% of my driving) By the way,thanks for the link to the sales figures-got them the next day. Spikey-I think you're right on with your delivery estimate, except, with the CN rail strike ongoing it could add a few days even if they go back to work early next week.

Hi guys (and gals) been awhile since I've posted. Just wondering if anyone has seen the Jan.sales figures for the Edge and other Ford vehicles. Maybe it's just me and the shows I watch but there seems to be a distinct lack of advertising up here in Canada for all Ford products. I've heard nothing but good things from customers who have taken delivery of an Edge and management claims they are counting on it to help rebuild the Ford name, so why aren't they getting the word out?There are probably 250 million people out there in NA who don't even know what an Edge is.(Hoping someone in Dearborn actually reads some of these posts)

Hello Robertlane (Robert?) As i'm sure you've seen in other forums, there are already a number of dealers trying to gouge customers based on the demand and short supply of Edges. I wonder if there might be away to get Venom a pin for the Friends and Neighbors Plan. Since every invoice on the A/X/Z Plans go back to Ford he'll not only get the best price, there's no way the dealer can rip him off.

Yes I work in the Body dept. at OAC. and you can quote me. Every day we see about 20% of the vehicles with no roof(BAMR option) I have also spent some time in the final assembly area and pre-delivery in the last few months. The Vista roofs are being built,trimmed and shipped at the same rate as the others.Both Edge and MKX.I wish I could give you the name and number of the Controller at OAC, I hear he's very good at working ouy customer/dealer complaints.(I don't have access to the OAC Intranet)

Gawd I love Rumors. Heard the same thing last night(A-Shift).Talked to our MPS,he said it's possible but they might just cut back to 8 hrs. in Trim and Chassis for awhile. Makes no sense to work and pay overtime if you're just going to have to lay-off later.Chrysler-Brampton is currently paying for thier overproduction.

Absolute BULL, your dealer screwed up, plane and simple and expects you to pay for his mistakes.For the thousanth time-there are NO problems with the Vista roofs. We've been building them since Day 1.

As a long time Ford Oakville employee I think I can say for all of us, you don't know how much we appreciate these comments. After so many years of building what I consider to be industry average vehicles (other than F-series trucks)and getting little positive feedback from both management and dealers, I am honestly touched. 1-We are now up to 400 per 10 hr. shift or 800 per day. 2-I believe the initial 30,000 dealer stock order has been completed. 3-Yes 4- I've heard some dealers are saying 6-10 weeks but based on incoming orders (high demand) and personal experience I would bet 3 months would be a good guess.

I was told last week there were 5,000 retrofits still to be done,then last night someone told me it was closer to 7,200. We are currently doing about 200 per day,sorry, not much help with your delivery question.

Have to agree with foxrun, BAMR roof problems are old news-corrected months ago, we've been shipping all versions of Edge and MKX since Dec.7.

First, to answer bal13's question about the trim colors,as far as I could tell ALL Edge interiors have the light tan upper trim.I didn't care for it much at first but it really grows on you, most customers are going to be very pleased. I was in on the29th working in pre-delivery doing metal repair and fits. All retrofitted vehicles have to go through the process again before release

bals 13 Your dealer is full of S**t. We've been building the Vista roofs on Edges and MKX's since day One.(I work in the Body Dept. OAC) Sounds like he's willing to give you any excuse for the delay rather than doing a little work of his of his own. ANY built vehicle can be traced from the 1st job in Body framing all the way to your dealer.
