FWD or AWD? What was the sell price before incentives and taxes? They may have been pushin the ford credit because they are offering another 1k in incentives.

OK that is good news....so the up to date sync info can override the nav and get you where you want to go. I guess the only issue would be if the nav doesn't have a street that sync services tells it to find.

I am still on the fence on purchasing this option...for the price I think it sounds like a good deal but many posts here say that the maps are out dated and on long trips the system continually reboots. I did find one company that claims to have a VIM module for the MFT but it is $425, by the time I build a car pc with nav I will easily pass the $795 mark. So I am back to thinking stock is the way to go (especially since I am leary of modding an already buggy MFT system) but want to make sure the nav is easy enough to use. So I have a few questions. Can you easily search for POIs along your route? What about having POI alerts? How are the POIs catagorized? Can you search for say italian food or does it just list resturants? Since the data is old, can you also use Sync services to get better info and have that integrated to the nav or does that start the turn by turn nav?

I couldn't find it either, the dealer had a print out on the vehicle and it was listed clearly on that.

I have to be honest..we are looking at a 2011 and this whole incentive thing is just BS. No site agrees on what is actually available, Fords site says the rebates are different between FWD and AWD but dealers tell me otherwise. Some say to have them run a VINCENT report but I wouldn't trust they give me the complete info and now you mention a trade allowance??? First I heard of that. This whole process is way more complicated than it should be and I am worried I am going to get right up to signing the papers only to find out the incentives are not 2k with ford financing.

Any tips on how to check out the MFT? Should we shy away from the nav? Seems like people think it is linked to some of the bugs and many complain about the maps not being up to date.

OK well this car is back on the list as teh wife really likes the color and is concerned she won't like the new colors for 2012 since I can't find an order guide yet. So questions on a 2011....it seems a lot of people have issues with the MFT especially with nav. What things should I test out before buying to see if this MFT is buggy? Also how do I confirm Job #? I read it should be on the sticker but it isn't listed and dealer showed me something saying it was Job #2, just not sure I should trust it. Also, how do I know for sure what incentives are present? Can I request a VINCENT report? It seems no sites, Ford's included, agree with what they are telling me and I want to make sure they aren't trying to keep some of that money for themselves.

Where can I find the specs on the 2012 or an order guide? I have seen several postings on colors that have gone away and new colors but nothing concrete. On the fence about buying a left over or going for a 2012.

Might be a good price but with an offer on the trade of over 1k less and it not being the build she wanted I think we may pass. I saw someone here posted they got 1000 rebate on a 12, so ultimately we are only getting 1k more off but are adding AWD and the wheels which are ~3k more. So while she would like the color I think we will be getting a replacement for me unless that falls through.

I think they quoted 175 for the doc fee. As for the price I would guess the invoice is a bit lower than you mentioned since the wheels are 18" chromes from LTD not the 20's. But that is probably only a few hundred bucks. OK so based on that the sell price seems fair, just have to decide whether or not what they are offering on the trade is good enough. They are a bit lower than other offers. Thanks for the help.

The wife really wants to get a 2011 Edge in the Bordeaux color which we have been told is not available in 2012. The one dealer has two on the lot but it seems to me like the price is higher than I would have expected since the 2012's will be here soon. Basically they are both SEL AWD's with the 202A package, chrome wheels and vista roof. One has the BLISS, the other has Nav, the prices I was quoted were ~36250 and 36962 before incentives and trade. We are also being told there is 1000 cash back and an additional 1000 if we finance through Ford. But I saw others here mentioning 3250 in rebates on 2011 and 1000 on 2012. Just not sure what I should believe because Ford's site says 1250 on AWD, 2000 on FWD and Edmunds says 1k only. Is this a good deal? Just not sure I want to settle and still not get what seems like a great deal, especially when I think the trade is low.

Well I don't want to hack the code....just trick it into thinking it is parked so the AV input is always live and can display the computer screen. But how bad is the my touch? I knew there were issues but didn't think it was a really big problem. More like it might need an occasional forced reboot or something.

I have searched around and some have suggested it might be possible to unlock the AV input to allow its use while driving. Not that I am planning on watching movies but I was considering using it to view a car computer screen. Right now we are looking at two Edges...one has Nav and one doesn't but has other features we really want. Since it appears Ford isn't allowing Nav to be added later even though it should be simple, I was hoping I might have another work around to get navigation. I know with Audi you can reprogram the VIM module to allow this and with Subaru you can ground a pin on the head unit...hoping it is something simple with the new Edges too. Does anyone have experience with this?
