  1. And the truth about the 22" rim/tire combo, with maybe a +/-3 lb variance. I knew they weren't no 90-95 lbs a corner... Did a few separate weights to get a good average:
  2. i just let my wife borrow it to go on an errand... unfortunately im thinking of passing it to her within a year... i like fast small cars, and i had a bit of an impulse buy.. luckily i only owe $24k on it already.. put $15k down. when she gets back, ill find a few mins to go do this test.. what is this "CC" code you always talk about? Thats a VW model.
  3. ya i keep looking at the KMC rockstars, which are 27 lb per 20" rim. Seems lighter than most. Escpecially if my 22"s are the rumored 40-50 lbs EACH like ive read.. a 15-20 pound per wheel reduction could easily translate into 2 more mpg, not to mention way better take off from a stop. I was gonna take off my 22" wheel/tire TODAY and put it on an actual scale. And get a pic.. has anyone done that before? I wont believe the rumors of 90-95 lbs a wheel until i see it with my own eyes... i want picture proof, and ill provide it if no one has yet. oh and i agree... my tiny brakes look stupid in these wheels..
  4. ya i mean 18's would be ok, only if they were super light tho.. its a bit small for this vehicle to me. there would have to be a big upside. im missing my small fast car lately.. hopefully its just a phase.
  5. well sure.. i didnt think i needed to state the obvious.
  6. on that topic, any idea what 22" take offs with fresh tires can bring?
  7. I agree with everything in this thread. more air in does not mean less gas used... dont change any air filer from stock if you are looking for better mileage.
  8. im just glad my numbers arent way off then.. i guess 16mpg avg is about right for a FWD Edge with 22" rims.. i bet i could get 20mpg changing the rims to the 27 lb ones instead of these 45-50 lb ones.
  9. The mileage is starting to get annoying, (averaging 16mpg), and my excitement over the 22" bling will subside soon. I'm sure people have done a lot of research on nice lightweight 20" rims. I dont want to go smaller than 20", as i do like big-ish rims. I'm trying to decide if i want any chrome in there, i am more of a black rim guy really, especially with its contrast on a white car. I am very picky about rims and rarely see any i love. Anyone want to post examples of your aftermarket rims to give me some ideas? Even if they arent 20's..
  10. My avg mpg was 20.4 the first couple weeks I had my Edge. Now that im on about week 4-5 and im not babying it anymore, my avg mileage is about 16.. Lighter wheels are sounding real nice about now, although my 22" stockers are the only reason my car gets looks. OP: If you said your Edge is AWD.. then 13-14mpg is about right. Thats the #1 reason i wouldnt touch AWD when i was shopping. Mileage, and 300-400 lb extra weight. Incidentally, thats also the reason i was able to give up on my want for a sunroof.. Less weight, and lower center of gravity. It turned out well for me given some of the sunroof problem posts I read around here also. I'd just assume not even have to deal with it.
  11. The rims go well on the silver. Not sure if they would look as good on white. The silver/black/tints looks smooth together. Then again, if i wanted a different look I would get rid of my 22's altogether.. only because of mileage. Its starting to get to me. The Edge power is a lot better on freeway for example, than from a stop. I can really feel those 22's trying to spin up. I was looking at some 27 lb 20" rims the other day, but decided against it. I think once the excitement/bling wears off for me, I wouldnt be against dumping my 22's for some real light 20's. My avg mpg was 20.4 the first couple weeks I had my Edge. Now that im on about week 4-5 and im not babying it anymore, my mileage is about 16.. Lighter wheels are sounding real nice about now, although my 22" stockers are the only reason my car gets looks. Sorry to get off topic.
  12. the best part of the expensive 22" rims is the chrome/polish. (arent those 22's?) I would have chosen a different wheel to do this on.
  13. no, i dont have HID's. I miss them, but i took what i could find. and i dont plan to retrofit anything. i dont like messing with brand new cars.
  14. New in bag sealed. $12 shipped. cont. usa only.
  15. you go here to check updates but its down until sunday night. http://www.syncmyride.com/own/application_offline.htm and you cant get the real updates here anyway, you have to go to the dealer for the main updates.
  16. Let me just save you the nightmare.. They suck. I spent another 30 full mins working on the install. I bowed them just like you are supposed to, to get the back into the channel. When bowed that hard, the back cracked. I saw another person say the same thing on some review I found online in a search also. (Edge specific.) I sure can't return them after theyre all cracked, so i spent $115 on a pile of garbage. Dont waste your money. Luckily I didnt damage my brand new Edge at all. I do have a few marks on that lower window rubber though.. not very noticable but i notice them... In all fairness, the 2 sets I had on my 07/2010 Wranglers in the past fit a bit better. The Edge ones don't.
  17. Well i got my set today, and i dont think im going to install them. ive had a few sets before, and i do know a bit about installing them. but these ones are too tight to fit. it will fully mark up the lower window rubber along the bottom, if i could even get it in. just wondering if anyone else has them. these are the kind that slide into the window channel, they do not tape on.
  18. my iphone paired once when i got the car 3 weeks ago. hasnt been able to pair again since then.. im just waiting for the new update in july/august before even trying again..
  19. The best weekend to buy has already passed, and that was Memorial Day weekend. I got $5k off my 2011 Edge Sport, and could have got $6k off if i had used their financing. Also got a high trade in.
  20. naw i didnt even want DVD players.. but there was only 2 Sports left in a 250 mile radius. The other one was blue with a couple more options, but still no sunroof. I liked the white color a lot more for the Sport colors.
  21. The king of all Sunshades. Sunshield or something. Located in Sunnyvale, CA. Mine arrived yesterday.. this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400214886501&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT
