  1. Great response guys...thanks for your help... ( and I wondered why I stopped coming here... )
  2. So I can't find my block heater cord and haven't needed it until today (-40) and none of the dealerships are open for 2 more hours... Anyone know where they hide it in the engine compartment???? I did search the owners manual but it doesn't provide a location for where they hide it. Thx
  3. couple things come to mind for me... - Vista roof takes forever to close as it seems to really have slowed down since a year ago - The rims look like crap even though I only hand wash/dry the truck - it tends to really notice the crown of the road and pull to which ever side has the most slant
  4. Thanks guys... I appreciate the advice. Steve
  5. Awesome idea thanks!! I just need to find something Canadian related as it seems this is a US based program.
  6. Understood. I don't think it would be a challenge to find someone to take over the lease if it came to that. If it would cost thousands to return it, I certainly wouldn't choose that option.
  7. I haven't made my mind up yet on the lease aspect. As for the potential savings of obtaining a different car, I don't understand your response... There are thousands of vehicles that are less expensive and better on fuel than the Edge so I doubt there's much "math" invloved there. Is there not a direct co-relation between the potential number of miles I'm going to drive, my fuel economy, the cost of fuel and my overall potential savings? Yeah, I think so... and I don't need to replace it with a Kia to get that. Again, I didn't buy the Ege to save a few pennies and I did have other choices but I really enjoy it. I own my own business and travel quite a bit so the cost and expenses of my vehicle play a factor in in my P&L statements as those costs are directly mine. In 4 months, I have put on 20,000 kms. I bought it knowing I wasn't going to get 45MPG but if gas does go through the roof as rumor has it, I'm just looking and considering my opions.
  8. So I've had my Edge since Sept and really enjoy it. I put quite a few miles on and the one area I'm not happy with is its milage. Gas is possibly going up to $1.30 - 1.40/litre this summer and if it does, I don't want this vehicle. Anyone have experience taking back a leased vehicle prior to its end date? I know this may vary from region to region but I'm in western Canada. Thx
  9. What the lovely npggirl said!! Those look awesome!
  10. As tpm mentioned above, the traction control light... http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t92/tpm...tioncontrol.jpg will only alluminate when the system is off. There isn't an "off" light on the Edge so I'm not really sure what you're looking at? By defaut, the light should remain off and ONLY come on when you push the button. In a situation where you are stuck is the only reason why I could see you wanting to do this...or maybe just burn some donuts in an empty parking lot... Steve
  11. I agree with the responses above except, I would turn it off if you ever get it stuck. It will prevent wheel spin with it on and sometimes wheelspeed is a good thing if stuck to improve momentum! We recently had our first significant snow here in Western Canada. I'm actually very suprised how sideways you can get the Edge with traction control on. I've driven a few cars with ESP and this is one of the only ones that will let you get stupid if you so choose with it on. It's not as reactive as I thought it would be but the AWD is sweet in steep climbs and snowy roads!! ...yes, I played with it in a parking lot yesterday! :yup: And yes, caplock is a no no on forums but some of you need to relax just slightly...
  12. Nahhh... It was just a female owner and she changed her mind part way through cause she could and it's her RIGHT!
  13. I don't think the weight will be an issue but some good snow tires would certainly help instead of the all seasons. It won't have the 4 wheel system the jeep had...It'll be better! :yup:
  14. I do agree it's a personal thing but the reality is that we're all not use to FUNCTIONAL headrests! 99% of the headrests in vehicles have little safety value to them sitting back 6-8 inches from the back of our heads. Sure, we use them on a long drive when we start to get tired and lean back on them right? These in the Edge, come right up to the back of the head and although we're not use to that, there's a purpose to it and in the event of an impact, they could actually save lives. Wadda concept! A little adjustability on them would have been a great insight due to the varying sizes of people that own cars but I would suggest to not allow a significant amount of adjustment and subsiquently loosing the safety aspect. At 6'1, I love it although I didn't for the first couple of weeks. Steve
  15. I'm in Edmonton. I spent a couple months looking and actually had a deposit on an '08 Equinox Sport. I also have a good freind that has WAY more money than me and has purchased an SVT Lightning, Harley truck and an '07 Mustang GT that he put $30,000 into at the same dealership in the past few years. I found the exact Edge I wanted on the lot and told them to make a deal that would make me want to buy it NOW. I negotiated the started after the price and it was installed prior to me picking it up the following day. It's the 2 way LCD model. There were 2 starters to choose from and this was the more expensive ($575 retail I think he said.) I heard about a $1500 increase on '08's so you're in the ballpark... Steve
  16. Don't mind Clubwagon...remember that opinions are like assholes. Everyone has 'em. Reliability is something we all are concerned about to some degree with a new design. So far, there's nothing substancial that anyone has posted that I can see. My biggest issue...the signal light arm is too high up and at a funny angle on the steering wheel shaft. Welcome BTW! Steve
  17. I bought rubber mats...they too are very nice...Canadian Tire has many many rubber mats that fit well. They will protect the carpet I imagine. I am happy... We are talking RUBBER FRICKEN MATS right? Oy vey...
  18. Talk about mis-spelling words... I couldn't read ANY of that! Here's my question; when you guys start talking about "invoice" and "cost", does that really mean anything? Are these documents that you are seeing and if so, are these real? What exactly does "invoice cost" mean? I have a business background and teach business strategies and sometimes I wonder about perceived value when I hear things being sold at "below invoice". If it IS actually true, what business can survive at that? I don't pretend to understand the automotive industry and their "invoice costs" so it would be interesting to hear the real poop on this if in fact, anyone truly knows...
  19. I paid $39,500 CAN for an AWD SEL, Vista roof, Class 2 tow pkg, remote starter so I'm guessing that's a Canadian price ATCS posted... Let's hope anyway...
  20. I'm gonna guess that not so many are going to be considering flares now... Personal opinion but that just totally destroys the lines of the Edge.
  21. FWD will not only get slightly better fuel economy but also be a bit quicker than an AWD due to the drag by having 2 differentials.
  22. Well, even tho mine is an '07, I'm about to make ALL OF YOU feel REALLY good about your pricing! '07 AWD SEL Vista roof, class 2 hitch, LCD car starter; MSRP $43,000 CAN Purchase price $39,500 CAN Given that the dollar is basically on par, I don't suggest ANYONE buy one here in Canada... Bet ya'll feel pretty good now eh?
  23. I think they look awesome! Do these have any "function" to them or is it just purely cosmetic?
  24. Can we nominate ourselves? This would be my "just bought an Edge" dance...
  25. Sorry senior... I just think that was made for a 3/4 tonne 4X4 and not an Edge. I think with a lift kit & monster mudder tires, it may look OK though...
