  1. Plus gather as much info about you as possible. A little too big brother for me.
  2. OK thanks. Sometimes I think Google is trying to take over the world.
  3. I just installed Firefox and they're gone. How do you like Chrome compared to IE and Firefox?
  4. Looks like they make if for Firefox and Chrome. I'm using IE on this laptop. Thinking about Firefox, but had problems with it not opening some things on Google. It's never easy.
  5. I've noticed my 2012 Edge under a light throttle has a long shift time from first to second. Wonder if that's programmable out? Not so bad under moderate throttle but still there. Seems worse when it's cold. "Back in the day" I would have said the clutches were slipping.
  6. I'm trying to figure out how to hide the ads by google at the top. I never click on any of them and I have to scroll past them to get to the forums. Nuisance factor.
  7. It almost feels to me that when I have Cruise on, if I'm going downhill that it does something to limit the speed to what I set it. Almost like downshifting. Wonder if that's what they are talking about?
  8. Any good dealer is going to have a sharp finance guy or gal who knows where to find the best rate. The dealer I just bought my Edge from sure did.
  9. Maybe it's not the Brits in this matter, but the attitude of one Brit. YOU! Try another dealer and leave the attitude at home. You may be surprised. You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar, but a rolled up newspaper works even better. Sorry, I couldn't resist that.
  10. Don't sell the Ecoboost 2.0 short. I'm amazed at the way it runs, how quiet it is and how smooth. Can't really speak of gas mileage yet, only have 600 miles on it. It's gotta be better than the Terrain. They wring 240 HP out of it, and it reaches its peak torque at 3000 RPM, which is good.
  11. I've had my 2012 for a week and a half without any problems until today. I may have created it myself tho. I started it and put it in reverse before it got booted up and the MFT screen went berserk. Locked up,nothing worked on it and the clock stayed at the time that I started the car for almost an hour. Sometimes it lost a couple of minutes, bluetooth wouldn't connect, nav system wouldn't work and the screen would periodically shut off. After driving it for about 40 minutes I got a message for an SD card fault. When I got to my destination, I shut the car down, pulled the SD card and put it back in and prepared to call the dealer's service dept. When I restarted the car, all was well. Poltergeists? OK, went out to pick up supper and the screen was blank again. Few minutes into the drive the "SYNC" screen came up and said it was performing maintenance. After it did that, was OK. WTH?
  12. I've had GM cars since 1990 when I traded a doggy '74 LTD in on a Buick LeSabre. It was an excellent car, had the 3800 V6, ran good and got over 30MPH on the highway. Traded that on a '99 LeSabre, another good car that didn't quite do as well on gas mileage. Traded that on a 2007 Buick Redezvous, super comfortable but got lousy gas mileage, never over 22. Traded that on a 2011 GMC Terrain. Great car, but I'm big (6-3", 245) and found that on a day trip or longer, it wasn't comfortable. Mileage on it never over 22. Got mad over the Government Motors Consortium bailout, and then the bonuses, added that to the discomfort and did what I should have done before looking at the Terrain. I looked at an Edge. Nearly the room of the Rendezvous. Got the Limited with everything but the Adaptave Cruise (which I wish it had) including the 2.0 I4 Ecoboost engine. Love it! If I didn't know it was a 4 cylinder, I'd never guess by driving it. While looking at the Terrain, drove a 4 cyl Equinox and it sounded like an Indy car every time I left a stop light. That would get old. Edge is quiet. I hope the Edge serves me well for at least 5 years. Traded the Terrain and my '03 Ranger Edge on it. Down to one car now, which is plenty for two old people. Besides, wife will kill me if I even look at another car for a while. I only had the Terrain for 10 months.
  13. Rogue apostrophes everywhere! People who never use the shift key on the keyboard and type everything in lower case. I guess I'm old enough that it's harder to read that way instead of using appropriate caps. People who let their defective spawn run, scream and talk at the top of their lungs in restaurants, thereby ruining every one else's meal. If Tony Soprano ran a restaurant, I'd eat there. So called "Background" music in restaurants that's seemingly above the threshold of hearing damage. I like background music to be just that so you can actually hold a conversation with your meal. People who say "I seen him yesterday". This includes well educated (?) folks. Listening to young folks talking about "I was, like go ahead, and he's like OK andonandon and on" People who say "Y know" every fifth word. (Including one of our Cardinals TV broadcasters) People who insist on passing on the right, then zooming across 4 lanes and hanging in the passing lane. Or worse yet, when you are slowly overtaking a guy on the right to pass him, some moron screaming up in the right hand lane who then cuts you off jumping in front of you instead of just passing on the left. When is the optional laser cannon going to be available? People who brake for no reason, escpecially when I look a way for a split second when the wife says "Look at that". The hidden module in every car I've owned that will let me approach a green signal and then changes it to yellow when I have no possible chance of making it. Politicians Lawyers Automated answering systems. Oh what's the use?
  14. Hello, my name is Don and I just bought a 2012 Edge Limited in Titanium White Metallic/Lt Stone Leather interior with the 2.0 Ecoboost engine. Naturally I only have about 300 miles on it, but am thoroughly impressed with how smooth and quiet the engine idles, how good the pickup is and the lack of engine noise. Very comfortable and positive feeling. I traded in a GMC (Government Motors Consortium) Terrain SLT2 on it. I bought the Terrain in early January and was decently satisfied with it. Never got close to the advertised mileage, little piddly things kept happening and the service folks seemed to be unconcerned with everything. So I traded it and a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge for the new one. Truck was handy at times, but didn't get driven enough to make it worthwhile paying for insurance, license, tax and gas. Besides, now my granddaughter won't be able to nag me about it. Also, I'm pretty good sized, 6'3" 255 lbs and found that on a fairly long day trip that I wasn't comfortable in it. I had traded a Buick Rendezvous for the Terrain and gave up some interior room. The Edge, while being of similar size is much more comfortable. Wife and I were really surprised at how comfortable the seats are now in a Ford. We had owned a couple during the '80s, one being a new Tempo which was a nice car but the seats were like park benches. I'm hoping to do well with MPG with this Edge. Also having a ball playing with all the electronic bells and whistles.
