  1. just last week we had the fan in our 2011 replaced by the dealer because it was making that moaning sound, but ours only did it at the first speed setting. took them thirty minutes to pull the old one and replace and problem solved. our work order says it was part# 7t4z*19805*a motor- cooling blower
  2. updated and it took about 45 minutes from the time i started the car to completion. downloading the update from syncmyride took ten minutes. new screen design will take some getting used to but it looks good and seems to be a little faster than 2.11 was. as long as my wife likes it it's all good, so i'll know in the morning if i screwed up doing the update.
  3. we averaged 21.2 (double-checked and it was actually 22.1mpg) on our trip from destin to orlando and back and i had my cruise set on 79 mph the entire time that i was on the interstate, but there was some city driving mixed in as well. on the flatter sections of interstate the live mpg figures were closer to 24mpg, and if i had gone 74 or so i can imagine getting 23-24 on the interstate. correct me if i'm wrong but highway and interstate driving aren't the same. highway speed for me is 55-65, which is what i think the government uses to rate mpg figures. at that speed i can see the edge easily getting 26mpg. tire pressure makes a huge difference with gas mileage as well, always check the pressures if you think there is an issue with mpg.
  4. i just spent two hours with an old rag, 'krud kutter', and a 55 gallon drum of elbow grease. my hands still haven't recovered from the constant scrubbing. there were only two spokes that didn't have the adhesive stuck to them between all four tires. after i got them all cleaned up my wife came out and was amazed at how good the wheels looked, so i guess it was worth doing. the cleaner was only slightly helpful until i put a nice wet coat over the area and let it sit for a few minutes. then i went back and scrubbed pretty darn hard and quickly to get the adhesive to heat up and that made it much easier to remove. a little more cleaner and a new rag and she was a shinin!
  5. tried to remove the double post by erasing the second one but that didn't work so......guess i don't need to page back after i post
  6. it worked doing it through mft process. i tried that before too but must have done something wrong because it worked first try tonight. thanks guys!
  7. my wife and oldest daughter have a thing for purple so that's what we use 100%. earth metallic exterior
  8. thanks, i'll give it another shot. thought i had done it once but then when i tried to unlock with the new code it did absolutely nothing.
  9. signed the paperwork monday on an earth metallic limited with 26+k miles. does not have the navigation system, dvd (we have a portable one we used in our trade car that works just fine), or power liftgate. it's the fwd with the 3.5l engine. really wanted the white but it sold the first day they had it on the lot. the color is very nice and it is clean right now, so after we drive to louisiana for christmas we shall see how much a pain it will be to keep clean. am still getting used to the sync and mft functions but it doesn't seem too bothersome right now. haven't been able to get the door codes to program but have the car code off the fuse box sticker and it works fine that way. after trade and extended warranty paid $23.3k for it so am feeling really good about the price too. glad to be a member here and look forward to learning new things about the car from ya'll.
  10. we just bought ours monday and sounds like we got a great deal. asking price was $26, 990 for a 2011 limited 3.5 fwd with 26+k miles on it. has no power liftgate, navi, or dvd. we traded our 2007 mazda 5 sport and after adding the extended warranty came to $23,300 for our loan. we haggled a little and they surprisingly worked with us a few hundred, probably because there are a few stains in the the rear carpeting that they couldn't get out and some small paint chips on the door edges, but we have two kids so that is gonna happen anyway. they had three at one point with roughly the same mileage and all sold within two days. wanted the white one but i like the earth metallic color. the dealer listing is still on the gary smith ford used inventory site, they have the color listed incorrectly as white which i thought was funny being that i wanted the white one. overall i felt we had done pretty well on price and i am pleased with the car so far. will be going to louisiana for christmas in it and will see how much we really like it then.
