Last week I was travelling with my family to a ski park and when we got to some mountain roads there was a dashed purple overlay on the road we were on. I have never seen this before and did a search here and on google what it means but got no results. Does anybody experience this and know what it supposed to mean?

I drove from CA to Yellowstone at 75mph +/- then back for a total of 40+ hour drive and over two dozen fillups including a couple fillups when i was still in my neighborhood. I did not reset my gas estimate every fillup or trip to acurately see my general driving habit estimate. So far i am slightly under 25 mpg.

Thanks wlepse, i don't usually stray away from roads and paths that are not recognized by the map database so i might as well turn it off unless this feature is needed.

I haven't checked if "breadcrumps" is active since it has always been this way since day one. What is it suposed to do?

For weeks now i have been figuring out what these grey circle trail marks that seem to look like contact lenses.They seem to show up every couple hundred yards or so behind where i have passed on the road. Anyone?

Congratulations on your new Edge. I also got my SEL this year and i can't think of any reason to have regrets. Like all things new, the technology is a bit overwhelming at first but sooner or later it will all become second nature.

If it has stitching then more likely it's real leather. Vinyl or pleather will rip through the stitches.

Did they go out suddenly all at once or slowly one at a time? Usually when the turn signal blinks faster it is because it's relay is getting a different load due to a busted bulb (could be a fuse too). Other bulbs that are wired parallel to the busted bulb will then be brighter slightly and eventually they or their fuses will fail too sooner or later because they are getting some of the amperes that suposedly should go to the original busted bulb. It the affected bulbs were wired in series, one busted bulb will make all of the affected bulbs stop working all together then you just have to find which is busted and replace it tthen the other bulbs should all together work. Same concept also applies to fuses too. Just check the fuses and bulbs. It's always a good idea to replace a busted bulb before it escalates.

I have a 2012 just weeks ago and the hazard switch is a mechanical button.

Maybe they mistakenly replaced it with a non-nav equiped apim?

I'm not in the edge right now but based on what i remember, i can chose browse music or usb device (that i sorted by folders - artist >album>songs). Chosing to browse Music shows me oftions for Songs, Artist, Albums, Genre. Chosing Songs shows all my music in the USB device. Chosing Artist shows me either option of chosing all their Songs or their specific Albums > selecting All Songs shows in alphabetical order all the songs from the artist regardless of album and selecting the first listed song plays all the artists music. Chosing Genre > plays all songs by all artist and all ablums of identical genre. Chosing Album > lists all the albums of all the artist that you can chose from. I spend a while organizing my music library that came from my mac after i viewed them on my pc because the mac changed all the song titles and other song info even the album cover if it does not match its online database. I got mine now sorted in 5 genres POP (includes RnB and regae), EASY ROCK (alternative, new wave, etc), FAST ROCK (Guns n Roses and the likes), METAL (anything heavier than linkin park, etc), KIDS (luneytunes and disney)

i use a 16gb usb flash memory with nearly 3k songs. i can chose to play by genre (all artist) or by artist (either all his albums or just specific ones). I used to have issues when using my mac to prepare and transfer music to my usb device because macs by design also write hidden files together with each song that MFT reads and cannot understand thus displays corrupted images, a lot of duplicate songs, missing music info, unreadable mp3's, endless indexing, etc. All these went away after formatting my usd device using my Windows PC and did everything there from scratch. I think MFT as a Windows system has better compatibility and integration with hardware and software that are also Windows based wether it be cellphones, music players or how mp3's are prepared.

I did not do a master reset nor pull any fuse at anytime before and after my update and it's all working fine. Hopefully i will never have to but time will tell.

Around three years ago, the home developer of my neighborhood did not exactly follow the city planning on the street where i live so google maps, mapquest and 2.11 will not find my address and will show the simulated view of the road totally different even until now. Version 3.02 has corrected the developers error and can now find my address and the nav street view is identical to the actual image or sattelite view on google maps.

Yes the space bar on the keyboard is dimmed thus unselectable so all words will be merged. My workaround is to just capitalize the first letters of each word making it easier to read. I can still use voice commands even if then words are merged and MFT understands me fine. I just added "HolidayInnWestYellowstone" and say it normally, MFT gets it always the first time. I think it's a small thing compared to other issues like no temp dispay, etc.

I have been trying out the new update. Most of my phone contacts including their home and business adress show up on MFT. Clicking on individual contacts show buttons in the middle showing the contacts phone number and another button showing contact's address. On the right side of the screen there are a few buttons including set as destination but i can't seem to select the button showing contacts adress so that i can click on set as destination. The contacts phone number is pre-highlighted and will not change and when and selecting set as destination it just says wrong address info or something since its a phone number. Anyone can verify this with their MFT with nav?

My dealer called me this morning that they have my sd A3 nav after i had to convince ford to call them to say it's their responsibility. I picked it up and pluged it in and everything works since i did the 3.02 myself. I just wondered why at first the dealer insisted I wait for it in the mail and ford says they will not send it to me and it's a dealer install. The only logic i can think of is either there is a re-flash issue with my Edge, or it's because i signed the papers on March 4 (it was on a sunday @ 730pm). Ford anounced the update on March 5. Maybe Ford only mail's out mft updates to all MFT equipped cars that sold before the public anouncement and my car was considered as one of those to be sold on the dealer lot that were suposed to be pre-updated. I would still like my VIN checked on OASIS just to be sure. I will PM Rob. Thanks.

Peanut butter and toothbrush. I thought it was a joke at first but it works wonders. I even tried it once on an expensive Les Paul guitar that someone car waxed and the dried white residue gotin to the open wood pores but peanut butter saved it from being ruined.

Is there anyone here who has access to OASIS to check if my Ecoboost Edge has an FSA that equires an IDS tool re-flash prior to 3.02 upgrade? Ford will not be sending me the update because they say a dealer has to do it and they can't seem to tel me why. I will pm my VIN if needed. Thanks.

That"s ok. I just hope they get their act straight on my situation before my 16-hour road trip to Yellowstone in three weeks. If anyone here have an extra 3.02 nav sd card i'd be glad to have it and pay for shipping.

Are you offering to share your extra sd card? I have a dilema after contacting ford and finding out i will not receive a nav sd card because the dealer was supposed to pre-install it and all the dealers i have contactined including where i bought it tells me that ford co. will be sending it through the mail even if i insist that they will not. I signed and purchased my edge the same day the update was anounced and copies were released to ford dealerships. The dealers and ford co. are contradicting each other and it's too much of a hastle as it is finding a resolution just to get a nav sd card from them. Best, jRE
