  1. That looks awesome. I'd drop off your wheels next and have him paint the insides of the spokes tuxedo black.
  2. Congrats on your new truck, but hang in there. Youll see your truck turn up on the SYNCmyride site to let you know they began programming it in the factory. Itll be well worth the wait.
  3. Another tank of winter-blend gas, and some more decent mileage, (I stayed at 18.0) So I'm still happy. As far as sub-par filtration? Everything that Ive read, and everyone Ive spoken to says that there is nothing sub-par about K&N's Cotton weave filter. Can you direct me to an article or study? One of my closest friends who owns a performance shop for Lambos, Ferraris, and the like swears by these filters. When I asked him if they were "subpar" his reply was "What are you f ing crazy? You think that K&N is worst than a s t paper filter? All they do is R&D on filtration." So that was enough to make me feel better.
  4. OKAY, Anyone in the Tri-state area of NY/NJ/CT that had to drive through the ice storm? I took it slow, as everything was covered with frozen rain. That was by far the diciest drive ive ever taken. I think the weight of the Edge is what kept it on the road. BUT...it got me to the dealership without a hitch.
  5. My SIRIUS travel link was always working, What a cool feature! Find a business, download directions straight to Navigation and off you go! Want a traffic report? Just ask! Curious about stock prices? Movie times? Weather forcast for the city you're heading to? Just ask! Its SWEET once you get the hang of it and remember to use it ! My problem was the nightlight issue. Once that got resolved with what I believe was just leaving the battery disconnected, everything seemed to work well. A little slow, but well all the same. I brought my Sport in for the 2.4 update today (All my paperwork calls it a recall) and afterwards everything seems great. Response is quicker, some minor things changed (lost gray/white color ambient choice, got another blue) and my bluetooth audio seems to pair easier and stay connected so Im thrilled. Cant wait till they start developing apps for the system.
  6. I love my Edge Sport. I came from a 2008 Limited though so I thought I knew what I had already, but im pleasantly surprised by how much better its gotten. I looked at the Venza when I had our 2008, wasnt impressed. We just recently went shopping for a Highlander for my wife while my truck still had dealer plates attached and weren't invited back to the Toyota dealership, Now were looking at the new Explorer for her. Since my wife drives an ES350, we had a RX350 as a loaner for a few days when her car went in for some engine recall work. The RX is the exact same truck as the highlander with an up scale, but in our opinion not as nice interior, so the RX wasn't for us plus it didn't offer third row seating. We didnt drive or even consider the NIssan Murano. The styling is just not for me.
  7. Anyone bring theirs in that didnt really have any issues just to have it updated? I really had no issues with my MFT. I had the nighlight issue which killed my battery once, but once that was fixed, everything seemed to work well. The system always seemed to lag a bit, more so when the temps were low, so ill have to see if that changes. LIke I said earlier, my only impression so far was that things seem a little quicker, a little more responsive. I have to check to see that my phone connection does'nt automatically go to "redial last number", and that album art shows up. Id like to see if I can connect wifi through the car so ill need a few days to play with it. Id say go for it, let them update it. "Interesting - I Have had three blues from the start - two are definitely different, but two are basically the same." If two are the same and two are different, doesn't that make four blues?:shades:
  8. Ok, I got a late start today due to the ice storm, but by 9:00 the Edge was in the shop. They trold me 45 minutes, but an hour and a half later they told me they were having problems with the Edge and it was freezing up. They gave me a car, and told me they'd call, it might need a new module. 45 minutes later the called and said the second attempt was successful, come pick it up. When I arrived, it even had the wheel locks on all 4 wheels. They told me the locks were with the spare tire, I never checked there so I can't verify that. Anyway. I reloaded my phone book, reset some settings, and noticed that I lost my white/grey color from ambient lighting and now have three blue colors. I'll keep you posted on the operation of the MFT from here on. My initial impression is that the user interface seems crisp, snappier.
  9. Im very interested in cleaning my new Sport and applying the CQuartz nano sealant that Richy used, and suggested.
  10. Awesome. Best of luck with your new truck. You're gonna love this thing.
  11. I'm scheduled to bring in my Sport tomorrow morning at 7:30 am. for them to reprogram MFT/SYNC. I'll report back with my results (fingers crossed)
  12. Im going to assume that the round yellowish spot in the center of your photo is what you're complaining about. Its definitely not peeling. The rims on the 2011 Sport are polished, non clear coated aluminum. If you use metal polish on them your polishing rag will turn black. If they were clear coated it wouldn't. So, with that said, is it a chip from a flying stone? Possibly. Is there anyway to protect your wheels from small stones picked up by your tires or someone else's on the road? NO. Not sure if you have to drive anywhere off of paved roads, but if you can avoid those roads maybe youll lessen your chances of getting more? Its not a design flaw, its life. When the spring time comes, get a drill, a polishing ball, some metal polish and go to work shining them up to look like chrome. If you're the type that doesn't enjoy detailing your ride, then pay someone else to do it. Take your attitude down to the dealer and demand your wheel locks. Ask them who unpacked the blister pack from the vehicle that held them in the first place. Get a copy of the accessory catalog and show them the statement 22" polished aluminum wheels with locking nuts. Good luck and lighten up, you have an Awesome new truck that strangers will compliment you on for years, don't let your world fall in on you cause you got a rick chip on one of your wheels.
  13. I would think its more costly than just getting a new or different vehicle all together. Providing you can find a wrecked AWD Edge, and get the parts cheap enough, you would have to pay for the labor to swap in the front assembly, as well as all the wheel sensors, and their associated wiring looms, and the computer to run it all. This is assuming that the FWD and AWD share the same basic trans. If they dont youll be pulling and swapping in a trans as well. Seems youd be better off selling what you have and just paying the difference for an AWD. Of course, if you like projects, have the time, space and tools, and you can be without your edge for awhile while you figure it out and work on the change, then go for it. That would make a great project to photo-document here on the forum!
  14. Okay step back and take a few long slow breaths. Winter blend fuels always wreck your fuel economy numbers, give it a chance and let the vehicle break in. Check your tire pressure often. I know by me it's cold 1 day it's warm the next. go back to your dealer and demand that they give you the wheel locks that were supposed to come with your sport . if you get nowhere with a salesman than ask to speak to a manager or the owner . check amazon.com for the gorilla wheel locks, they have the best price and if you apply for the amazon credit card they will take 30 dollars off of the purchase price . our aluminum rims are not chrome plated theyre polished...so I'm not sure what's chipping off your wheel maybe they never remove the plastic coating that was on it when they shipped it? wash your wheels with warm soapy water and take a close look at it again, post up some close up pictures so that we can all see it maybe we could give you an idea. I used the ddmtuning.com HID headlight kit, same as other members. I bought the 9006 bulb 55 watt 5000 k kit and it fits perfectly without any modification to the bulb. The price was very reasonable, $45.00 I have a lifetime warranty, and their customer service was great, in 3 days I had my order. Check the pics I posted in my gallery with high beam / low beam shots etc. So you see, its not so bad... this summer once you have the new MFT update, your HIDS installed, your wheels all polished and your cruising around w your windows down and your tunes on you'll be happy as a clam.
  15. I went w the ddmtuning.com 9006 55w kit with their $12.50 harness. beautiful kit, great price, required no bulb modifications, and was $100. Cheaper than retro solutions. probably made in same Chinese factory too. you would not be disappointed w these. go see my gallery pics.
