Our 2011 Explorer is loaded with 2.7, hopefully it lands at our dealer soon so I can compare it to the Edges v2.4.

My hitch (from my 2008 Limited) lines up all bolt holes on my 2011. So I'm assuming that the entire unit body from 2007 is identical. Since the rear valance drops down a little lower on the sport than the unpainted rear valance of the SEL and LImited a space is needed. From my mockup a 3/4" spacer is sufficient to drop the hitch under the rear valance. If that's too close for comfort, a 1" spacer can be used, but a longer / taller ball mount would have to be used to keep a level trailer. I had planned to use 3/4" aluminum plate for the spacer so that the hitch makes contact with the entire unit body that it was intended to connect with. I have no plans on completing this project since we ordered a 2011 Explorer for my wife with a tow package.

100% true. We checked it out and found out the same. Plus the unit that Ford gets is different than what the aftermarket gets.....

I have a class III hitch, maybe from hidden hitch? Anyway, I had planned on mounting this in the same manner (by dropping it 3/4 of and inch down), only I was making a plate from aluminium in order to allow the hitch to contact the unit body of the edge completely and not just by the surface area of the nuts. Since we just purchased an explorer with a tow package I no longer need to do this. But as i stated in a different thread, 3/4" will bring you under the rear bumper valance.

darn it, I checked my tires again and the same rear tire was low. Now I'm more concerned. I checked every square inch of that tire with no nails showing. Sprayed soapy water everywhere with no results... so now I'm puzzled, where's the leak?

I think you nailed it. The Lexus can fit in there, but as you basically showed yourself, its on par with vehicles that cost way more. I park next to a Porsche Cayenne and BMW X6 everyday and have had several people tell me that my car is the best looking in that row. I cant disagree...

And since the shape of the floors inside havent changed, these will essentially fit 11's as well.

write an email to your phone manufacturer. HTC, Motorola, Nokia, Apple, need to know that as consumers we demand these features. It certainly won't hurt for them to hear from us.

i watched today as a 2011 Explorer with V2.7 syncd to a blackberry torch received and read a text msg. I only hope that some developer is working on an Android App so that all the Android phones have this capability. Still exciting though.

have the brakes checked. I know you only have 20k miles... but the edge is notorious for having crappy short lived brakes. You can always continue your troubleshooting from there.

Yeah well I said a long time ago I would have happily paid a few thousand more for the ecoboost 6 and its 365 horses. That would've been the true Sport model.

there is a small light sensor in the middle front of your dashboard. Is there something blocking it? Anything laying on your dash? if not then you should bring it back and let the dealership take a look.
