  1. Clean it first, but most importantly, dry it, and everything around it. If water accumulates near the grill, it could drip down while you are spraying. This happened in a few places for me an it left a little mark, but it mostly went away after a few more coats. Blue 3M tape is pretty good too for protecting the lights and vents. Remember to leave a slight gap when masking, you do not want to tape right on the line.
  2. I rubbed my over spray off with my finger. Then I cleaned it up when I washed the car.
  3. My heated seats do come on, however, when i turn the ignition, they turn off, so I have to push the button. There is also no option on mine to turn them on or off in the remote start options.
  4. The remote start, as well as it usually work, shows that I am getting great winter gas mileage. However, when in remote start mode, the trip computer is not counting your gas consumed, nor time. My last fill up was about a gallon different. But, it's been wicked cold the last 2 weeks in Anchorage.
  5. Looks good so far, I'd like o see them at night when you are done.
  6. I just taped my grille, and sprayed away. Just make sure everything is very dry before you tape.
  7. I'm gad they did away with the fold flat drivers seat. Kinda of hard to hit the pedals.
  8. I used 1 can for my entire front grille, probably 4 or 5 coats. I think you should get 3 cans, just in case, since your wheels should be off the car when you do this. You can always return the unused cans when you are done. Also. Really shake the can at first, a lot more than you would normal spray paint.
  9. iOS 6 works just fine, but still no text reading.
  10. Well, I just got the Bi-Directional remote installed and for some twisted reason, I can't wait for it to get super cold. I went down the street and it fired right up. Too bad my dealer sucks and had the Edge all day to do 30 minutes of work before they closed.
  11. How far have you driven since you reset the cap?
  12. Of all mods I hate the most, tinted tail lights are worst. Oops, I did see one guy who painted his tail lights black.
  13. Make sure the top of the door panel hangs properly on the window sill lip: If it's not on there properly, the rest of the panel doesn't fit tightly.
  14. Well, they've changed something in 2012. I was smart, and first disconnected my harness at that location, and then put the Edge in reverse. I got no backup warning and the dash display said "Check parking aide." Plugged it back in and all is well. For those interested the harness part number that I unplugged/plugged is BT4T 14N139 P2609. Once it goes under the bumper, it splits off into multiple smaller wire bundles, I am assuming 4, it's a real tight fit.
  15. It's about to get cold, and my wife gets the garage (because I love her so dearly). Does anyone have experience with the 100 series (4 button key) and the 100 series bi-directional fob? Heck, why not include the 200 bi-directional with oops you bumped into my car now get away feature. Here is my winter situation. I'm not far from my Edge at work or at home, so I don't think the distance isn't a big deal (I can look out a window to see if it started). I like that you get 2 more keys with the push button start with the non bi-directional start. The install is slightly more, but I assume that is because they charge an extra 22.50 to cut and program the keys. The 100 series Bi-Directional only has one fob, but you can get an additional one for abotu $40. The range is better, and I can sit at my desk and look for the green light, no big deal. What is the Real Panic Sound & Progressive Car Find? I thought my Edge already had a real panic sound, i.e. the horn. The 200 series adds IT-s 2 stage shock sensor. I really could care less, what am I missing? And naturally, I assume I could install both 100 systems, but have to take the vehicle to Ford for them to turn on the remote start in the computer. Thanks for any input.
  16. They sure went back on easy though, didn't they?
  17. I think it's for the non existent back up sensors. Here's the other thread from yesterday: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/11053-wire-harness-under-bumper/
  18. This is my wire harness at the rear going to the bumper of my '12. I have reverse sensors, but no tow package. There are more cables going into the connector than coming out.
  19. I've heard about that in the past, but I've never had a fuel pump problem with any of my previous Rangers (02 and 89). That was my lowest ever tank, and in the winter, I try to keep it above 1/4 for obvious reasons.
  20. I took my 2012 Edge on a nice 240 mile road trip yesterday, and some how managed a 26.3 highway average. I am pretty impressed. Being a fuel miser, I tried to keep it at posted speed, which was 55 and 65. Also, the drive from Anchorage to Seward, and back was fantastic. Really impressed since our old/other vehicles probably got 19 mpg highway at best. I also loved getting home with the DTE stating 9 miles.
  21. Looks like the Curt requires cutting of the rear fascia, and drilling one set of hole.
  22. It's only been a week, but so far so good. If anything dings up, i'll post.
  23. I threw out the installation guide for some idiotic reason. But from what I can see #322028 is the Aeroskin, and it's not wraparound. The Lund/AVS site shows 25065 as the regular Bugflector, that also is not wrap around, but every other site like CarID show that part number is the Bugflector II. Lund's website is absolute garbage. I will call the store, to see if they still have the part number.
