  1. Thanks guys. That was my first attempt at it. I'll probably take it off the edge soon. With nothing else black on the car it doesn't look as good as say my Titan...or if I had a Sport trim. Maybe if I get black wheels I'll do it again.
  2. Ya they fit the front map. Its a tight squeeze with the reflector though. Okay looking at it in the dark, it's not exactly pink. More like one is warm white and the other is bright white. Hopefully when the other 4 arrive I can find two that match. EDIT: Oh ya, they don't seem too terribly bright as map lights...I didn't get a chance to check them against the stock bulbs.
  3. The "edge" was easy...I just did 3 coats and it came off surprisingly easy. Key is doing more coats (I'd suggest 5), building up a nice thick layer which makes it east to peel off.
  4. smora did all of your LED's match in color? The two I put in the license plate are the same, but I opened another pack and put them in the map light....one has a pinkish tint and the other seems normal (white).
  5. Well, against the wife's wishes I did just the "edge" emblem on the back. Did a quick and dirty 3 coats, turned out decent. I guess I'll leave it on until the wife notices :busted: oops how did this get in here...hehe
  6. smora, I ended up buying the http://www.amazon.co...8WG/ref=lh_ni_t as listed above (but through a different seller, Auto Garage). First pic is vs. stock. Pic is close to what they are in actuality, just bright white. Good price, I bought 2 sets and they came from Anaheim so shipping was quick. Although they shorted me 4 bulbs ...still waiting on those.
  7. And we love it. Had been looking to trade in our 2007 Edge SEL for the newer body style, new cars weren't in our price range so we looked at used 2011 SEL's. Soon discovered almost all used 2011/2012 were prior rentals (which I guess is good if nobody is selling their 11'/12's already!). Spent weeks driving around southern california looking, most of them you could tell were prior rentals. Stopped by our local dealer just to see if they could keep an eye out and get what we were looking for. But then they had this beautiful silver 2012 Limited that was just a few days on the lot. As mentioned, we were looking for SEL's...but the leather/ MFT, wheels, etc were so much nicer, especially on this purty car. As we were shopping used, we didn't have the choice of an updgraded SEL - it was bare bones SEL or bare bones Limited. Anyway, got upsold on the limited and everyday I'm glad we did. Biggest selling point for me is the ambient lighting hehe (great gimmick)! The car was the exact combo we were looking for Ingot Silver w/Black interior. Another selling point for us was that it was a Certified Pre-Owned. The extended warranty is appealing as I have recently been commuting 1000 miles/week. I'll get a 2 years out of the warranty. Yea, 2012 Ingot Silver, Black Leather, "Base" Limited, 21,5XX miles. Love the improved ride over the previous model. Starting the LED swap out process, and drilled one of the front plate brackets (cordless battery died). Looking through this forum provides endless ideas to make this an even greater ride...if only money and time were as endless as the ideas. Anyway, long winded intro for anyone bored. Looking forward the the great advice around the board. EDIT: Oh forgot to mention, this was the cleanest used/Prior rental we came across. Beautiful inside and out - save for a small ding in the driver door which the dealer is "supposed" to take care of on the first service.
  8. I'm gonna do my Titan this evening or tomorrow....Maybe I'll hit the Edge. I can always take it off right? I'll post pics if I do.
  9. Jim, not sure where you are at with your search but just wanted to throw in my .02. About two months ago I purchased a 2012 Certfied Pre-Owned Limited. Mileage was 20,3XX, got for $27,9XX. That was definitely on the higher end $-wise of the numerous I had looked at. Same thing though 99% of used that I looked at were prior rentals. Most of them that I looked at, you could definitely tell they were rentals. The one we found was just what we wanted - Ingot Silver with Black Leather Interior. The car is pretty damn clean, save for one small dent on the door that the dealer has "promised" to fix. True with rentals, you don't get much choice for options but even the base limited is a very nice vehicle in my opinion. It's worth the sacrifice to save the $10k or so. Just keep looking, I'm sure you'll come across the diamond in the rough. The thought of rentals scared me at first but then I was thinking - I doubt people rent limited Edges and drive them like a POS...if it was a yaris or focus then I might be a little worried since those are the more commonly used rentals.
  10. Ah Waldo, that makes sense. Mine was a prior rental. On all my vehicles I would typically drive with the headlights on anyway. As I mentioned the only minor issue is not being able to turn them off at all at night, so I am not blinding people, houses, etc as I pull in places.
  11. +1 one the pics, Candurin. Also, how long have you had them in? Any burnt out yet? It seems like for the price, why not go for them. I was thinking about getting those for the map light too.
  12. Thanks for the quick replies guys. I guess I will peek at lights in a little more detail. Just thought it was odd as I see other late model Edge's around town that don't seem to have the DRL's
  13. Wife and I bought a CPO 2012 Limited almost two months ago. We are both very happy with the car. One thing I've noticed is that it seems that headlights automatically come on...now let me get into the specifics. First, no, the lamp switch is not in the "automatic" position. If I get into the car, and don't put the key in or start it, the headlight switching works fine (parking, ON, auto, etc) However, if I start the car and put it in drive the headlights automatiically come on even if the switch is in the OFF position. Or, if I start the car, and move the switch to either Parking or ON, the headlights come on (parking light funcitonality does not work). At this point, even turn the knob off and on does not turn the lights off - they stay on until I shut the car off. The headlights, amber, and LED lights are always on. I am in California and have tried to read about the DRL issue. From what I've read though it seems that the DRL's are lower output (80%?) of the regular headlights. I don't see any difference in output if I switch from Off to On. It's inconvenient sometimes pulling in places at night and not being able to turn the lights off, and blinding people, neighbors, etc.... Any ideas? I appreciate any help in advance. I've googled my question and searched here but haven't seen a solid answer. Forgive me if I've overlooked something.
