  2. I remember just after the first gas crisis of 1973, gas shot up to 58 cents a gallon and long lines with 10 gallon maximums. We used to sit around the lunch table at work and talk about gas rationing and someone would say "I got my gas coupon right here", and then he'd pulll out a dollar bill. We'd all laugh, Gas a Dollar??!!! HA!
  3. I saw these at the local Sam's Club. Set of four, fronts and rear for $20!! Great fit, large enuff to cover the ENTIRE foot well area, and a hellofa lot cheaper than some. As a matter of personal opinion, I think they are heavier and better configured than the than the Weathertechs in the wife's car.
  4. I am going to order these Guards from RealTruck and see how they fit- http://www.realtruck.com/productline/1847/...ash_guards.html
  5. We see lots of them in the Dallas/FtWorth area. Not many on the trip to Ocala Fl, but once in central FL there seemed to be a lot of Lincoln MKXs.
  6. I seem to remember that Ford and perhaps other mfgs had close-in parking for employees that drove Ford products. I am not sure if this was a UAW or Company initiative. All others parked 'a good deal away' from the plant or building entrances. Anybody know if this is still true??
  7. You fellas should try Craigslist in your area. I sold my 18"OEM rims and Conti tires within a couple of days for my asking price of $500. Local guy with a Fusion bought them, even though they had 6500 miles on them
  8. I noticed the same noise and my Edge is only 8K old!. I called the dealer service manager and they said it was common with the disc brakes during the first few stops. This is primarily due to the formation of trace corrosion (light rust) on the metal surfaces during vehicle non-use or storage. Supposedly the Edge uses a high iron content disc and it is SUPPOSED to do this. This corrosion is cleared from the metal surfaces after an few stops causing the noise to subside. When you first drive off and then brake, you are scraping the rust coating off the disc and normal braking resumes- no grinding. So for the time being, I am accepting this reasoning, but will have it checked during my free oil change at the dealer, BTW, my pedal is firm and tight with no mushy feel.
  9. Are the chrome covers even offered without the wheels?? Is there a separate Ford part number for a cover?? So if you scrape the chrome, the only option is a replacement wheel?? I looked on eBay and the OEM chrome 18 inch wheel is going for $190. I replaced my tires and wheels and sold the chromes because I didn't like the look. Glad I did.
  10. Hello, I have a 2007 SEL+. I have been reading this site for the past couple of months and you guys sold me on the Edge. It is used dealer demo, with 7300 miles on it. I got a got price and trade in on my 05 F150. My Wife picked it out. She liked the Black exterior and interior. Only thing is the wheels and tires suck, and I replaced them with Enkei and Goodyears from Discount Tire last week. I have the OEM wheels for sale on Craigslist. I hope to learn a lot from this forum. Thanks, Joe
