so, if you must replace the whole unit, that means you must have damaged it somehow? because there would be no other reason to not just replace the glass which is detailed on this site elsewhere
as for finding those/a thread.. in that thread it will discuss the heated versus not heated mirrors, part # differences, etc
here is one of the main threads I found with a simple search
that answers 1 question right in the last post "I work for a big Ford dealership in Phoenix. The integrated mirrors are about $85ea, and will snap right in to all Edge's. Just go into your local parts department and ask for mirrors from a 2010 Edge " - so you could stick a whole entire unit - mirror and housing - right on there. and then you could do the drivers side mirror glass only if you wanted. that being said, not sure if anyone has detailed changing an entire unit like they have detailed changing just the glass.

talk about a necropost... this thread is from like 16 months ago :shades: not likely IF the op even posts and has the #'s they will even be applicable these days
as for the fog lamps for an Edge that did not come with them.. search the forums, it has been discussed and done by others. but correct, not using SE parts as the SE did not come with fogs.. you have to get body parts and rewire and switches and lower valence, etc, etc, etc, from another model - like the Limited - that did have fogs and retro yours over. not cheap, not easy, but possible. again, search these forums, the details are here as others have done/investigated it.

I tend to agree with akirby, but my gut is it seems kinda high given what a new could go for and this one is 09 and used and 25k miles, but you have made no mention of condition.
-
yes you can do it yourself
use the search function and search for topics on changing out blindspot mirrors. many people did it. there are several threads, IIRC 1 really good big thread on this very topic, and it has part #'s, places to order, cost, etc... no reason to try to rehash it all in a new thread when the data exists on it already in existing threads.

easy out tap was my next comment
you could also JB Weld a small bolt to the nub and when it dries, twist it out
-
the antennas are generally hand tight, I am willing to bet you will be able to get out the threaded stud easily and just might have to use a pair of needle nose vise grips at worst
-
search here for some of the threads that talk about upgrading the 2007, 2008 rear view mirrors for the 2009 blind spot models. They have photos and plenty of how to talk and I think even diagrams that show how to replace the mirrors and I "think" by following that process you can also, by default, get access into the mirror housing and maybe do what you want.

hey.. but it IS in warranty
BTW, I think at the time, wasn't disk based navi pretty common standard for cars?

works
cheaper than metal
packable
minimal altering of car
what's not to love.

very interesting.
its kind of like a chip or a tune in a way, not sure why it wouldn't do something. the question is, is what it does that beneficial?
Under their Ford section, they list "2006+", but didn't the Edge come along in 2007? Cheezy video and they never show the unit work.
-
Yes - for years. Works great.
Edit - it's Mother's back-to-black, not Meguiars.
thanks for the clarification, need to pick some up. The Edge gets a little to much sun in SoCal and you can see the black trim - lower doors, lower rear bumper, windshield wiper plastic area - that are showing dulling

okay, a DVD disk will not address this.
I do not know the exact answer about activating the AUX jack in a car that has had a transplant navi system put in but there are a lot of threads on here about transplanting in navi systems into cars that did not come with them. I would search for those threads as i doubt you will get the answer here given the title of your thread, it would not likely bring in people with the actual answer you seek. use the search function as there are many threads on this topic of transplanting in a stock navi system, you might find your answer there.

Hey Guys,
I recently got an updated DVD for the navigation system in my 2007 Edge SEL +. When I tried the new DVD, I got an error message about how the system could not read the DVD. I tried ejecting it and reinserting it several times, but I always receive the same error.
Now, even when I try to insert my original 4P DVD into the slot, I receive the invalid DVD error message. Both the new and old DVDs can be read with my laptop's DVD drive. Is there another step I need to perform, other than just putting in the new DVD? Any ideas?
did you by chance try a DVD lens cleaner disk and try cleaning the lens on your player?

Can the 9p dvd update use the auxiliary/mp3 jack? I have the really old 2p dvd and there is no option for selecting auxiliary(aux)/mp3. please help
you opened a new thread to ask this question.. please see that thread as your question does not makes sense.
-
Anyone use the Meguiars Back To Black product for revitalizing our outer black trim pieces? I hear good things about it.
-
I don't understand your question. 9p DVD is just a DVD that handles your navi system, not sure what that has to do with auxiliary/mp3 jacks? A dvd has nothing to do with "selecting auxiliary(aux)/mp3", it just contains the data that runs the mapping/navi system. Your question is just not clear.
Either way, 2p DVD is crazy old. Heck, I have a 7p DVD I would sell you

FWIW the GEM, or Generic Electronic Module, is the exact same thing as the SJB, or Smart Junction Box. Ford originally called it a GEM and then decided to confuse everyone and rename it to SJB. Do you by chance happen to know the code they pulled out of the SJB??
headlight test "sjb" got code " b2a2f " and they "cleared the code and ran on demand. then did self test. possibly related to ssm 20508"

did you try eBay? pretty sure I have seen them there before. biggest issue is finding out the thread pitch for the Edge.
-
look in your manual, but I think it is #14
-
did you try to open it electronically, pull the fuse, manually close it, put fuse back in.

Oh yeah, I did several rebates at the time of my purchase along with the X Plan pricing. Check the Ford site for current rebates and cash incentives, I even got a hefty Presidents day sale rebate on top of the current cash rebate on top of my X Plan pricing.

Just bought one of the common after market TYC brand for $6.80 delivered from Rock Auto Parts

this is just speculation... but logically I would think you would need the harness.
if you have an after-market head unit, it likely has the RCA jacks for a camera on the back just waiting to be plugged in. if you bought that emblem camera with no wiring harness, how are you going to (1) power it (2) ground it (3) attach it to a rear light sensor to know you are in reverse (4) run RCA jacks up to the head unit to see the results?
now the harness you get might have actual plug tips you have to strip off and wire into your existing Edge wiring, as I see you have an '08 like me so there is no provision in the wiring back in the gate to accept direct plug and play wires for a camera since it was a not a rearview camera capable car. I have a thread on here that I talk about wiring a camera up to an 08 and no matter what camera you use or what head unit you use, the fundamentals would still be the same and part of that would say you will need a wiring harness to make all the above connections.
