  1. Hi Brittany, 1) I can't justify getting the Nav system when you can get a top notch Garmin for $600.00. 2) I have the Vista Roof, and so far with 1600 miles its very quiet, even when its been very cold out. 3) I think the 20" chrome clads are great. I know they're chromed plastic, but if you take care of them, I think they'll last a long time.
  2. Wow- thats got to be a killer seeing all those Edge's, and none of them being yours. In the meantime, tell us what options you got when you ordered it, and what you plan for mods (if any).
  3. Well, I tried doing the same except this time with the fog lights off. So far it seems to work. Just a PITA to have to remember to shut the fogs off before I get out.
  4. OK- one more problem. I keep my lights in the auto position with the fog light switch pulled out. I also have a remote starter. When I start the Edge with the starter, the HID's turn on, and then turn off when the engine turns over. Once your in the vehicle, the only way to get the headlights back on is to turn the light switch to the off position, then back to the auto position.
  5. I wonder if it would make a difference if the wire was on the top.
  6. Lex - Ok- I just went out and looked at the bulbs. The wire you mentioned is going along the bottom of the bulbs. Let me know how yours is.
  7. One more question- On the spade connections that go into the stock connector, does it matter which wire goes into which slot?
  8. Lex- I'll have to check when I go home tonight. Do you mean the wire that goes the length of the HID bulb? Also, aren't the tabs on the bulbs made so they will only go in 1 way?
  9. So what your saying is that we shouldn't be ordering the H11 bulbs for the HID kits?
  10. Retro- I did exactly that. After removing the plastic disk, I seated the red seal all the way down. Putting the bulbs in the housing was a snap, they turned in just like the stock bulb. So I know my bulbs are seated properly. Its just the scattered light pattern that bothers me.
  11. Lex, I was thinking about doing the same thing in the 4 doors. Not wanting to spend a bundle (its a leased vehicle), I was going to go with the 5x7 JL Audio 2-ways in all 4 doors. I think Crutchfield has them for $139.00/pr. I'll see if I can get the link. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Ite...Audio&tp=93 These are made to fit into the doors with no mods.
  12. You know what guys- I think we're just going to have to wait until someone comes out with a complete headlight module that has a projector bulb built in. Then we can install our HID kits. Thats probably the only way to achieve the look we're all looking for. Stupid A$$ Ford. They could have saved us all this damn trouble. :angry2:
  13. How is the beam on your lights. Is it scattered, or is there a line of light?
  14. Yes!!- your picture looks exactly the way my lights look. I don't know, if there isn't some sort of fix, I might go back to the stock lights.
  15. Well, here are a couple of things I would change if I were designing the Edge. 1) Use projector lamps, and at least offer HID as an option. ( come on now, this is the 21st. century!!) 2) Some sort of signal on the exterior mirrors 3) Standard pad on the rear bumper, and the rear door sills These are in addition to the ones Williston listed
  16. OK- I just got done installing the HID kit from retro solutions. Two things- First, is there supposed to be 2 spade type terminals that go into the cars light harness? My kit has them, but they don't seem very water resistant. Second- My light beams seem more jagged than the halogen bulbs were. With the halogens, I had a definite line of light, and with the HID, that line is gone, and the light beam seems scattered all over.
  17. I had the dealer put on the Ford hood deflector when I took delivery. I actually like the way it looks. Having the Vapor Silver color, it breaks up the line between the grill and the hood. Compared to others, it really doesn't come up too high.
  18. Wow, you got the identical duplicate of mine.
  19. Since I'm getting my HID kit tomorrow, I'd definitely be interested.
  20. I bought 2" round convex mirrors for both sides. They help, but I think I'm going to get the 3" instead. Maybe I'll get the 3" mirrors with the turn signals from Muth mirror. http://www.kwmuth.com/products/kits/220-0056.htm
  21. Hah!! Finally some snow!! We've got about 4" (and still snowing). Took the Edge out for some "coffee". This thing is 100% better in the snow than my Expedition. I did a couple of tests of the ABS. I know ABS prevents your wheels from locking up, but on the Edge, you can actually feel it keeping you straight as an arrow. Also, the AWD is awesome. My driveway is a 20-25 degree +- incline, and from a dead stop, it went right up without even one slip of the tires. Not that the Pirelli's are that great in the snow, but I see no need for dedicated snow tires.
  22. I just ordered my HID kit from Retro. I ordered the 55W H11 in the 5000 color. OK- Lets wait and see. Do you think I should have ordered the 35W instead??? Is the 55W going to be too bright?
  23. Lex, What brand of hitch did you use? How hard is the wiring to do? Thanks!
