I'm sure you tried this already, but how about moving the window lock switch back and forth. Other than that, it's probably a bad window switch.

I agree. I have the white pearl paint, and they really did a great job on the finish.

I leased an '08 Edge Limited. I loved it so much, that when my lease was up, I automatically went with the 2011 Edge. I love the upgrades. (HID headlamps, totally redesigned interior). Now saying that, I do have some complaints. 1) The transmission shifts in weird spots, especially when going around corners after lets say a right on red arrow. I can keep pushing the pedal down and it doesn't seem to catch a gear. Then all of a sudden, it grabs first gear and the engine cranks to 4k RPM. That's really pissing me off. 2) Even though I love the new interior, I think they went too far with the "touch" buttons. It's almost to a point where you start keeping your eyes off the road to see what the hell your doing. 3) As others have said, the hazard light switch is way too sensitive. so Ford- "PLEASE MOVE THE FREAKIN' HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH" I can't tell you how may times in the past month I've turned it on accidentally. 4) This Edge seems almost harder to see out of. I mean, I drove my other one for 3 years, and never even came close to a curb when going around a corner in a parking lot. I had 250 miles on my 2011, and scuffed the damn chrome on the right rear wheel already. I think the seating position is different. 5) The blind spot mirrors that they incorporated suck in plain english. OK - enough bitching. Believe me, the '08 had plenty of quirky things that bugged me.

I have to say, when the 20" wheels are all shined up, they look awesome when the sun reflects off of them. You wouldn't believe the looks I get when I go past people and those rims shine. :shades:

If you don't mind your lights on all the time when your driving, put a small piece of black electrical tape over the sensor on the dashboard. Then, keep the switch on the auto mode.

This also happened to me. Noticed it the day after I took delivery. I brought it to the dealer, and they ordered a new one for me.

Well, I now have 3,000 miles on the Edge. With 50/50 city/highway driving, I'm only getting 14.6 average mpg. WTF is up with that!!! I should have kept my Expedition.

I'm sure there's a way to do it. I was able to do this on my Expedition by reading a thread on the Expy forum.

I thought the Edge was supposed to have an approx. 50% resale value after 3 years. Is this going to still hold true?

I can't say or stress this enough- Ford REALLY rushed this CUV to market. There is ALOT of things that should have been ironed out before being sold. I think Ford should read these forums and maybe send us Edge owners out a questionnaire asking US what should be done to improve these vehicles. Alot of the things we hate about our Edges could be fixed with better quality control, and good old fashioned common sense on the assembly line.

I'm going to list the biggest problem to me at this present time- I've had this creaking sound coming from the back seats and the dashboard since about 1,000 miles. Not a loose parts sound, but an annoying sound like when things in a new vehicle start to settle.

I have noticed that the ethanol content has definitely made a big impact on the mpg. Is the content different in the summer, or is this a permanent additive?

As far as I know, they don't make the SilverStar bulbs in the H11 size.

I guess thats one cure. It looks like people are starting to drive less, and make the most out of their tank of gas.

No, no accent here. Also, I don't actually yell at the rearview mirror :o , its just the act of it looking like your talking to yourself with no one in the car. Come to think of it, thats just about everyone with a bluetooth headset device.

What do you mean by activate the wipers with the HL switch? Also, I haven't noticed the wipers changing speed either. Are they set at the factory to do this?

This is a question we here have been asking for a long time. HID headlights, LED taillights, and signal mirrors. They should all be either standard equipment, or offered as an option.

Pennstatefan- I don't have the answer for you, but I was wondering the same thing. I think the rectangular shape of the reflector is hurting the beam of light. BTW, what kind of PIAA lights did you buy?

Solas- First, I agree with the little covers. they really are a POS. I think Ford needed a quick fix, and they had some extra material laying around. :P . Second, if you put the lights on auto, and pull out the fog light switch, the indicator will light up when the lights go on. I actually put a piece of electrical tape over the sensor on the dash so my lights are on at all times, including the fogs.

try going to retrosolutions.com. They can change your tail lights to an amber colored LED.

I am getting around 20 on the highway (what little I travel). But I hear ya, I feel like I drive my Edge more, lets say "spirited" than I did my Expy. :yup: I find myself traveling between 75-80 on the highway. I normally don't go that fast, but in the Edge, it doesn't feel like that speed. Speaking of that, does anyone with the 20" wheels feel like their speedo is off by a couple of MPH?

Well, you really don't need them on in the daytime. I figured that when the autolamps click on, the switch lights would come on. I guess if you wanted them on all the time, you could tap into a constant 12V circuit.
