  1. Are you saying that all we have to do is run a wire to the headlamp fuse to make the switch LED's work?
  2. Now that I look at the pics of the 9, I realize how crappy the interior of the Edge really is. Especially the door panels. Cheap plain plastic. Now, I see that the 9 has a third row. Come on, theres absolutely no leg room at all, even for a child.
  3. Hello People!! Are you freakin' kidding me!!!!! Any time you buy a NEW vehicle, the dealer MUST provide you with TWO keys, and TWO remotes. No if, ands, or buts. This is total BS. Do NOT let your dealer get away with charging you $$$ for and "extra" key. Now I take all this back if you bought a used vehicle from the dealer.
  4. That is why I removed the HID kit from my Edge. I found it has alot to do with the square/rectangular reflector Ford uses in its headlights. It just really screws up the beam pattern. My wife has a Honda Oddysey, and I put a kit in there. There is a perfect line, like a razor blade, because Honda uses a round reflector. Also there is absolutely NO breakup of the light pattern. Its just another screw up on Ford's part.
  5. I started having this plastic noise in the dash and somewhere in the back near the seats. Its not a squeak, but when its cold out and your driving, it sounds like moving plastic pieces, almost like creaking. Its really annoying having ANY noise on a brand new vehicle. These vehicles should be tighter than a ducks you-know-what.
  6. Hey Accessory Guy- Please come out with or locate a headlamp assembly complete with projector lenses so we can use our coveted HID lights the right way.
  7. Yeah- I'm hoping they'll come out with more accessories also.
  8. They should just concentrate on getting their current vehicles up to 21st. century specs. :P
  9. If I remember correctly, the CX9 optioned out like my edge (everything but nav.), was closer to $40,000-$41,000. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  10. I still call it my truck. I can't picture myself saying to the kids " OK kids, hop in the crossover vehicle!"
  11. I'm sure I'll be wondering the same years from now if I don't go. I mean, I'm sure the wife and I will go to Italy sometime in our lives. But to be invited to the Ferrari factory is another thing. We are presenting the wax for the first time, and after this trip, there probably won't be any more trips to the factory. Like I said before, it's a once in a lifetime chance to see one of the greatest automobiles ever produced.
  12. I have around 1900 miles on mine. I'm getting between 14-15 in the city. I really don't do highway driving.
  13. Boy- thats a tough one. The things you listed on the "9", were alot of the things we complain about here about our edges. (HID, LED) But, the Edge is definitely a great vehicle. Did the Mazda have the 20" wheels? Good luck on the decision.

    Trip To Italy

OK, I know that this has nothing to do with the Edge, but I need some advice from you guys and gals. A friend of mine owns a top quality car wax company that Ferrari has chosen to be their official wax for the cars, and company. He invited me to go to the Ferrari Factory in Maranello Italy for a week, to help him present the wax that was specially formulated for Ferrari. My dilemma is that my wife is going to have a fit when I tell her about the trip. To me, I don't think I'll EVER get another chance in my lifetime to go to the Ferrari Factory, and it's an all expenses paid trip to boot. I can't see how I can let this one go. Just trying to find a way talk to her about this once in a lifetime trip.
  15. Good luck with your new Edge. BTW- the Creme Brule is another awesome color. It's got that classy look to it.
  16. My family has purchased dealer demo vehicles before, with very good luck. The one good thing about a demo, is they find and fix the bugs found with a brand new vehicle. Now mind you, a demo to me is a vehicle with say 1,000 miles or under. Saying that, I originally was going to purchase a demo from my dealer (250 miles, red, identical to the one I bought), except, when I came home and started reading the "trouble with red Edges", I went with the "New" vapor silver they had on the lot.
  17. I found that with the 20" wheel package, mine sits higher than the ones with the 18's. I don't know about lower springs, although maybe they're stiffer. They probably used a better progressive rate spring on the 20" package. Whatever they used, I love the handling, and the stance.
  18. Does anyone feel like Ford rushed the Edge to the market. I just think they should have thought out a bunch of things that we talk about here. To list a few: cargo cover, HID lighting, signal mirrors, rear bumper cover, etc...
  19. Well, it works two ways. When you put the car in drive, and start driving, all the doors lock. Now unlocking works different. They won't unlock when you put it in park, but they will all unlock when you open the drivers door.
  20. Since there is a consensus around here that the optional navigation system really isn't worth the money, (I definitely don't think it is) what kind of aftermarket nav. system is everyone using, if any. What brand, model, etc... I personally have a Garmin 340 that I bought for my wife, but I seem to use it more than she does. I like the simplicity of it, and so far its been really accurate. One thing I don't like is if you want to use the 12v plug, you have to have it mounted to the suction cup mount. Kind of a pain, but I have to say that the lithium battery lasts a long time.
  21. Well, I think its "bye-bye" for the HID's. The way the pattern is broken up just really pisses me off everytime I drive at night (which is every night from work). I'm just going to stick to the H9 low beams I bought prior to these. They are actually brighter than the stock H11's. Maybe I'll switch back to the HID's someday if they come out with a projector housing.
  22. I taped the pigtails when I installed the lights, but tonight I will check the connections.
  23. Update: Well, this morning I was going to work, and looking at the car in front of me, I noticed that the left light never went on. I toggled the headlight switch, and it finally came on. Later on, I tried turning them on and off a few times, and found the left one is starting to have trouble. Is this the ballast doing this?
  24. I attached the drivers side to the inner fender, and the passenger side to one of the bolts holding the overflow container.
