  1. You might try a Tide Stick. It works great on my shirts when I spill. However grease is bad so do not know if it will help. You can get the sticks at your local super market.
  2. I just talked to my local Ford dealer and they are available now for units without sunroof. From what I understand you can only use aftermarlet rails on those with sunroof.
  3. I would like to have the roof side rails (rack) on my Edge. I do emergency communications for the Red Cross and want to install some radio antennas on the side rails. Does anyone want to trade their side rails for the trim strips that I have on my Edge now? If you do please contact me. rwb1 at cablespeed.com Thanks!
  4. I want to install a ham radio into my 2013 Edge. Was inspecting the firewall from the engine side and trying to see if there was a good place (without having to drill) that I could pass 2 10 guage wires through the firewall. I want to connect these straight to the battery only. The only place I can see and be able to reach is on the drivers side there is a large pass through grommet that a factory wire bundle goes through. There may be enough room for the two 10 guage wires. Does anyone know of another place in the fire wall that I could pass these wires through? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. I really do not want to drill a hole in the firewall. Thanks,
  5. This is an ongoing problem with a lot of Fords. What happens is the ac water drian gets plugged up and does not allow the condensation to drain. As the water collects inside the condeser chamber it starts to mold. The only way to fix it is to clean out the vent tube. I have the same problem in my 2011 and 2013 Edge. I am going to tackle cleaning the vent this week. Hopefully this removes the smell. I also think after the repair the ac cleaning solution needs to be sprayed into the ac unit to kill the mold. From what I have read on the internet this is something that has to be done routinely as it will happen quite often. Ford does know about this design flaw. They just do not want to admit it!
  6. Out passenger seat rattles when someone is sitting in it and it is in a lower position. My wife raises it up higher so the rattle will go away. When I ride in the passenger seat I have to lower it because I am taller. Then the seat rattles.
  7. It is about freezing also. My wife and I were talking and trying to figure out if the ac runs all the time even when not turned on to perform defrost on windshield. Then when the outside temp hits freezing it turns the ac off. The smell reminds me of when you turn off ac other times during the year when you do not want it. There is always a musty type smell. I get this in other vehicles also.
  8. We have a 2011. Recently we have noticed a musty type order coming and going. Never had this before. I am guessing it is the A/C cycling. Has anyone else experinced this before? It has never happened before with such regularity. This is our second winter with this Edge and did not notice it last year.
  9. No prblems here with our TS. Sounds like you have an isolated problem.
  10. I did a lot of research on HID upgrades last year in another of my cars. One really good article I found was from a Ford engineer that stated that doing HID upgrades in halogen designed housings does not work correctly. True HID systems designed at the factory have housings that are designed for HID lamps only not halogens. It had something to do with the design of the reflective surfaces in the housings. I tried to locate the article again but could not. I do not know if his explanation is correct but it was enought for me to not upgrade my vehicle.
  11. There is an area in the top center of the dash board that looks like a speaker grill. I do not think it is but also do not know what it is. Any ideas? Are there sensors under it maybe?
  12. Well we have driven it for a month now and we are very happy. Drives like a dream. Very comfortable and easy to use.....still learning electronics but good challenge. Had some snow recently with ice afterwards and the Edge did not hesitate to climb the worst hill in town. I am smiling!! :hyper:
  13. The passenger side seat belt is catching and then tightening. Very annoying. Is there anything that can be done? Is this the way it should work? Thanks
  14. The passenger side front seat belt is catching and then tightening. Very annoying. Is there anything that can be done? Is this the way it should work? Thanks
  15. We are hearing a popping type sound coming from under the passenger seat when you shift around in the seat. It seems to have just started. Have inspected with flash light but cannot locate. Seems to lessen when seat is raised up. Anyone else experince this? If it is something simple I would fix but we are still under warranty so do not want to get to carried away with repair. Thanks! Rowland
  16. The cell did the primary sync to the Edge with no problems. However one thing we have noticed is when we start the vehicle then turn on the cell phone it does not seem to "completely" snyc according to the display. Does not show the the name of the phone on the display. However if the phone is on when we get in the car and start the car the phone syncs just fine and shows the name of the phone on the display. Is this the way it is suppose to work? Seems like it should not matter if the phone is on or not when you start the car. They should sync either way. Thoughts please.....Thanks
  17. Crusty.....you are right on the mark. I went to the website for Homelink and their instructions reflect those steps. I did that and bingo everything worked fine. Ford should mention this in it's manual. I know this mainly applies to used vehicles because the new ones have not been programmed before but the extra step is not a big deal and it would assure thatthe programming would take every time. http://www.homelink.com/home/welcome
  18. My openers are 20 years old so I am pretty sure the rolling code was not in use then. I will call the help line and see what happens. Thanks everyone!
  19. Just bought this 2011 Edge and eveything seems to be working great regarding programming except the garage door opener sync with our Stanley door remote. Have help it close to the visor and followed the instructions to hold the button down until the lamp quits blinking then pressed it twice for 5 seconds as the owner's manual says. Still does not work. Any help help would be highly appreciated!
  20. New to this car so just learning...that said I need a little help here please. When operating your ipod through the USB connection we noticed the Sync turns the ipod on when the USB is selected. does it turn it off after usage or do we have to make sure and turn the ipod off? Thanks for help.
  21. Thanks for the welcome everyone. Though I have only had the Edge a few days I am really impressed with it. Dial out all the electronics and it is a great driving vehicle. It handles like a dream. We are replacing a Mazda Millenia that was a great car but not in the snow and ice. Very loose back end. We are looking forward to seeing how the Edge handles in this type of weather. The stereo sounds wonderful and the dual control climate is jsut what my wife needed as I always like it cooler then she does. I know I will have some questions as time goes by so I look forward to chatting with everyone here.....Thanks again for the welcome!
  22. Just bought our 2011 Edge Limited yesterday. 29K miles Certified from dealer in Puyallup WA. Great to work with and got good price. Needless to say we spent a few hours programming everything and learning all the ins and outs of the Sync/Touch system. Wow..... Hope to learn a lot from this site. Thanks!
