  1. I'm thinking of adding a sub from a Limited/sport to my SEL. I like that the enclosure will fit and I can upgrade speaker. It's definitely cheaper than the JL Audio Stealthbox. But what do I do about the gaping hole in my plastic trim piece? Do you guys just glue some mesh to cover it? Anyone have pics of what they did?
  2. What do you guys think of just putting in a Kicker Hideaway where the factory sub goes? I checked one out at best buy and the bass was surprisingly good and the reviews are very good.
  3. Has anyone added one of these to their Edge? It won't fit under the rear seat if I fold the seat down. How do you like it and where did you mount it? Thank you!
  4. im almost thinking of just getting a kicker hideaway or something like it.
  5. Thanks Rocket! Are there differences between any of them?
  6. I have a 2012 SEL that I would like to add a stock sub enclosure to. I have called Ford Parts department and they say there are 3 different sub enclosures to choose from and they can only get the correct one if I give them my VIN. Well if I give them my VIN they will see that it is a SEL with NO SUB...lol. So, what is the correct sub enclosure for my 2012? There are a few enclosures out there for sale from 08 and 2010-11 Edges/MKX's. Are they the same? If not, how do they differ? Should I just wait for an enclosure from a 2012-2013?
  7. what is the difference between the two?
  8. I used it on the front of my hood and bumper. It's super easy and works very well.
  9. yes sir. I have the gain on the LC7i slightly higher for the rears. I could drop the fronts I guess. I have both Front and Back setup where the "maximized" light comes on and then backed them off a hair. (Hey we're both in Gilbert!)
  10. Here's what I have in my SEL with Navigation: 4 - Infinity Kappa 682.11cf speakers AudioControl LC7i LOC Alpine PDX-F4 amp I've set the LC7i like the manual said and the Alpine amp has front and rear gain set all the way down. System is loud enough! I notice that the rear speakers have lower volume and less bass than the front speakers. Anyone notice this? If I fade to back and then fade to front the difference is very noticeable. My only way around this is to raise the gain on the amp for the rear speakers to match the fronts, which is fine but I shouldn't have to. Why is this???
  11. Ok, then should I just run new speaker wire?
  12. Ok, so what about speaker wire? I bought an LC7i to go with the 4 Channel Alpine amp. How do I use the stock speaker wire?
  13. I guess since my amp is a class D amp I could safely install it where the Sony System puts their amp (cargo area sidewall passenger side)
  14. *2012 Edge SEL with MyFord Touch* I have purchased an Alpine PDX-F4 Amp and an Audiocontrol LC7i. I am curious where I should install the amp. 1. I can't put it under the front power seats or the rear seats (wont fit) 2. I can't mount it on the back of the back seats because I fold them down for storage often 3. I am thinking of installing it under the rear passenger side panel (where the Sony Amp would be if I had one). However, will it get hot in there? I've searched all the forums and googled this to death. Does anyone have pics or info on where they have installed their amp? Thank you! -MM
