  1. For an online option try looking at B&R auto wrecking. www.autowrecking.com I got my roof rack and rails from them.
  2. Final update. About 2 weeks ago I initiated an online chat at the Ford Owners site. I received a phone call from a district customer service manager. The service manager wanted me to submit all my receipts and such for the rental. I explained that the dealer had all the receipts and she said she would contact them then call me back a week later. Before she called me back I received a check from the dealer for the full amount of my rental expense. She did call me back saying that she had given approval to the dealer to reimburse me. Finally after 4 months of running in circles with this it is final.
  3. I'm still in contact with the dealer. On the jan 2nd I was assured the claim has been submitted. On the 3rd I called the ESP assistance line and they see no claim. I called the dealer and was given an excuse that maybe the email address was wrong and they would look into it. I gave the dealer the claims assistance number that the ESP people gave me and requested that they call the number to resolve the issue. The assistance line can see the repair order and that i had paid for the repair and that the repair was sent in for a claim and already paid but they see no submission for the rental, when I explain the whole situation to them they agree that it should be covered but the dealer has to submit for it. At the time of my car trouble I needed a car to get to work and back and had no choice but go and get the rental on my own. I was hoping that since my ESP has the enhanced rental option on it it would not be much of an issue to get it covered.
  4. I own a 2013 Edge. In September my Edge had a transmission issue. The dealer closest to my house was unable to see my Edge for 4 weeks. I called Ford and they suggested going to the next further dealer which is 60 miles from my house. I had the Edge towed there and picked up a rental locally. The dealer repaired my Edge and I was told I would be charged for the repair (transmission lines) I informed them it should be covered by the ESP plan I have. I ended up paying for the repair. When I get my Edge back it was still leaking transmission fluid. I made another appointment at the same dealer to have it checked. I kept the rental as I did not want to cause damage driving with the transmission leak. The dealer informed my it would be ok to drive the vehicle to the dealership to check the leak.. I returned the rental and brought the vehicle to the dealer. I had the rental a total of 10 days. They found that the trans cooler/AC condenser was cracked, the dealer supplied my with a loaner car while this 2nd repair was done. I spoke to the service manager about having the entire repair and my rental cost reimbursed as it should be covered under the ESP which also included "enhanced rental" After 2 months of haggling the dealer and writing a letter to the road side assistance explaining everything I have gotten the repair covered (dealer) and most of the towing charges covered (roadside assistance). Ford however is making me run in circles calling different numbers and the dealer claiming to have submitted the claim twice for the rental car. When I spoke to Ford Protect they see the repair claim but state there was no rental claim submitted, they agree that it should be covered and the dealer should submit it. They even informed my to give the dealer a phone number and they would assist them in submitting the claim. I have called the dealer several times informing them of this and I was assured that they would be submitting the claim. Is the dealer the only way to get the claim actually submitted? Is there anywhere else to go or call to try and recoup the rental car cost? It seems very difficult to get issues resolved with Ford.
  5. 78000 Miles on my Edge. The fluid has not been replaced recently. We own a newer house and there were no fluid/oil drips in the garage prior to this issue. The mechanic stated that the threaded connection to the trans cooler had made its way loose. The bumper had to be removed for access, he informed us that he used lock tight to prevent the line from becoming loose again. He added fluid to proper level, ran "KOER" self test and no DTC was found. $354 most all labor. Got our Edge back yesterday and seems to run fine so far.
  6. Dealer called me today and informed me that the cooling hoses somehow came loose and leaked fluid out. They reconnected the hoses and refilled the fluid and took it for a test drive. Said it drove fine and ready for me to pick up. Since its a few towns over and I live rural I will pick it up sometime next week and see how it goes. By the way since it was labor and fluid cost only not covered by ESP. I just hope that no damage was done to the transmission running a few miles on low fluid.
  7. Today I was driving home and my Edge started to make a very slight grinding noise. As I got closer to home I noticed it was only occurring in certain gears. I was in a 35 mph zone but only going about 30mph (I was returning from a nice hike and it was a very secnic drive). I figured I would look into it when I got home (3 to 4 miles). About 1/2 mile from home I had to turn onto the highway for the short distance and the car would not accelerate. Seemed the transmission was slipping and the rev limiter kicked in. There were no indicator warning lights on so I limped it on the shoulder to get home 20mph. When I parked it in the garage there was transmission fluid dripping out underneath. I checked the dip stick and it was dry as a bone and smoke came out of the dip stick hole. I did not notice any smoke behind me while driving, even checked my mirrors as I pulled out into traffic on the highway. I called my local Ford dealer and they informed me they would not be able to look at it until Oct 25th!!! I called Ford care and they had me check with the next closest dealer 54 miles from my house, they will be able to look at it next Monday so tomorrow it will be getting towed there. What do you think I should expect? Is the trans toast? I do have the Ford Premium Care ESP. I was very disappointed with the agent on the phone when I inquired about the towing and rental car coverage on the ESP. Apparently Ford has to determine the problem before they will pay for the limited time rental coverage and they will only cover $100 of the towing, since I have to go several towns over to get faster service I will have to foot bill for the extra towing millage.
  8. I purchased online also from Anderson and Koch. I had to have my MFT fixed due to black screen, when I went to the dealer I informed them I purchased the ESP online. The service advisor looked it up and showed me the screen where it showed that it was a true Ford ESP. The ESP covered my rental for that repair.
  9. My 2013 SEL Edge has 3 settings for the heated seats, My seats are leather.

I have the S4 and Verizon. My phone used to be hit ot miss with the messaging then I get the android 4.3 update. The messaging then no longer worked at all untll i deleted the phone from MFT and deleted the pairing on the phone bluetooth setup page. Re-sync the phone to MFT and all worked fine since then. Also when I got the android 4.3 update and resynced it all I lost the music info on the MFT when using bluetooth it always said "unknown". One app I use (xiia live) had an option in the menu to enable AVRCP metadata and ever since enabling it I now have artist and song title on the MFT screen again.
  11. I have not tried this but I think the use of Wifi on the MFT works something like this. Connect MFT to your phone's internet (mobile hotspot) then others in the car can connect wifi to MFT with your phone providing the data connection. And yes you could just bypass MFT and have others connect directly to your phone.
