  1. my bad, it is actually more than 60l - looking at my fuel history, the max I've every put in it was 65l... yet still I think the size is a joke :P what is the "towing package" ? Sport does not even have a hook mount (rear bumper is different)
  2. thanks Omar! I was wondering what's all this fuzz about because mine is 2013 and has a single straight pipe ;-) Now I get it...
  3. put on lighter rims and narrower tires (like SEL) and you will reach 20 "Sport" comes at a price...
  4. You got a transverse engine - is there any "true" dual exhaust pipe set available for edgy?
  5. ...my pocket rocket getting ready to leave workshop after 3 months of solid hard work...
  6. In case anybody wondered if InfiniApps holder would work with Sony radio - the short answer is NO due to a cd hole offset... ...but it works great in my wife's GTI (yet I'm looking for another smartphone/tablet holder)
  7. I believe under "normal" conditions you can see 20+, but not in the middle east, where often you just leave your car running for hours when shopping (to avoid skin burns after you come back with your shopping cart). Also daily border crossing doesnt really help - 2-3 hours a day in a permanent jam in full sun and +120F outside. FJ cruisers in same conditions average 11-12 mpg, and if I decided to get a land cruiser, I would most likely never seen anything more than 10mpg ;-) (but land cruiser has 30+ gallon tank) bottom line - if somebody's awd edge makes only little more than 16mpg, I would call it normal and stop looking for any problems. If you want more fuel efficiency, get a smaller car with downsized engine, is all...
  8. it's a whole different world down here... Ford does not have any control over what dealers do here. No such thing as "oil only" They follow the book and this is the only way to keep the warranty... (anyway, just wanted to vent...)
  9. ...lifetime average of my 2013 sport is 16mpg (stats link), mostly on highways with a speed limit of 120km/h, average from 61 refuels. Max mpg seen - 19, min: 12.5... (by the way - whoever equipped this car with 60 liter fuel tank must have had troubled childhood, but on the other hand - the same joke is with Shelby ;P )
  10. So here I am, reaching my 15k miles mark... I just dropped my 2013 Edge Sport for a routine oil change. Car runs smooth like the day I got it. Like two Times before, they will hold my car for the next 8 hours, then they will make it a big success story by calling me at 5:45pm saying that the car is ready for pickup. List of things done includes detail washing, topping up the washer fluid and... oil & filter change. Price -> $ 250. Why so much this time? - I asked. "you should have bought our maintenance plan". Nothing else... the most expensive oil change ever :/ And I dont mind paying the money, but I feel that I get absolutely nothing in return... nothing except that meaninglesss stamp in my warranty book... Is that what a Ford user calls a peace of mind? ehh... greetz from the Middle East
  11. ...and one totally different habitat:
  12. ...after reading here I started using 91 on my 2013 sport (most of the Middle Eastearn countries offer either 91 or 95) and the only negative side is that it smells really bad on cold start when you pass by the rear of the car... it didnt notice the smell when on 95...
  13. Black looks awesome! What's the size of the front emblem? Can you share ebay auction url?
  14. Do you know if it is possible to completely disable this feature? Those tire pressure sensors are crap... and they die one after another - my dealer keeps replacing them for free (so far), but it is so annoying having this "ding-dong" always when I start my car now (not to mention the orange warrning light on the dash).
  15. I just got TPS error on my way to work... I pulled over to check if it was not related to low pressure - it was not... I Wonder if they are going to fix it under warranty...
  16. It is not as severe as Saudi Arabia, but still hot, humid and can be quite dusty as well... but to go with semi-synth oil? I doubt...
  17. it is all calculated somewhere - they do offer bumper to bumper extended warranty in this part of the world, right?... and on one hand I agree - have you seen the air filter after one week of driving in Saudi? But to require oil change every 3K ... no comment.
  18. ...the first day I brought it back home with me:
  19. ...so now you see why I have a problem making up my mind But I guess I will go for it. $1,000 for the ultimate peace of mind over the next two years sounds like a good deal...
  20. I got extended warranty covered by a separate agreement (5 years / 200 000 kms), this is just the maintenance plan as far as I understand -> 60 000 kms of free servicing (7 services counting from the first one at 16 000 kms)
  21. ...I got an offer to go for ESP to cover my upcoming 7 service appoitments for $ 1,000 (I asked about the deal here). They replaced something in braking system, but the guy was too busy to tell me - brake booster I suppose, because the brake pedal is so much more sensitive now... Not sure if I like it... Anyways, first service done. They cleaned the car even under the hood so it looks cleaner then when I got it from Saudi... BTW. They didnt want to do anything about RDS until the latest available sync update is installed, but since updates can only be downloaded during business week (Mon-Fri), I have to schedule another appointment to get it done...
  22. My servicing agent offered me ESP for $ 1,000, that would include free 7 upcoming service appoitments (10k will be first as I have already paid for the 5k service) and one set of rotors and brake pads (front/rear) + wiper blades (1 set also). ...that would mean no more servicing cost up to 40 000 miles. Do you think it is a good deal?
  23. Thanks Omar for the tip with wipers, banditsrt - when I select RDS ON, nothing happens - it changes to ON for few seconds and comes back OFF in a moment... (link to previous Discussion) As when it comes to 4 months - I took a picture of my warranty card (attached) It originally was 3 months - they just changed it to 4 :P it is riddiculous...
  24. Today I will hit the 8000 km mark on the odometer. The below is the list of findings after driving this (great!) car for the past two months: Pros: - amazingly smooth, comfortable and quiet ride (love it!) - great audio system - 115 mph governor (otherwise I would be driving this car even faster - you can't feel the speed in it) Cons: - some noise is already coming from the roof when the roof blind is open - windscreen wipers are bad already (!) after 2 months !!! - roof seal starts making noises when approaching 150km/h - servicing every 8000km (or 5k miles) or every 4 months (this is some sort of joke) - $ 130 to open the first service ticket (at Bahrain dealer - because the car was bought in KSA) - $ 130+ the first service... (I am paying for the stamp in my warranty card only, I guess...) - headlights are crap, seriously... just bad. Maybe when they level it properly it will be better - no RDS (the service guy said they can check if it is possible to enable it - I will find out soon) More cons than pros, but I really like this car. I didn't even suspect that it would be so nice to drive! First check on Saturday, I wonder how much I will be charged for extra things I don't need (like cleaning, topping up the washer fluid). Comparison - Golf GTI 2013 (I know, different idea, but I was actually considering getting it in the first place) - first service after 30 000 (18k miles) is free... second one, after 60k - less than $100...
