  1. I received the PM and realize that there is nothing you can do about my case (big surprise)... Just wanted to share my horrible experience with Ford CRC... The regional manager at Ford Customer care calls me and says that his "engineer" recommends that I bring the car into MOSSY FORD for a second opinion. This is the same dealer that sold me the car and told me that my issue was normal (Kearny Pearson Ford confirmed my issue and escalated it to the field service engineer who also confirmed something wrong). I told the guy absolutely NOT, why the heck would I bring the car there again, especially when a better dealership confirmed my issue a dealership who WAS the second opinion. He places me on hold, comes back and tells me that his "engineer" said that the issue is normal. EVEN though KP Ford and the San Diego area field engineer confirmed an issue....Needless to say I was pissed off and asked to speak to his boss but it was a dead issue. Basically everything KP Ford said meant nothing to them. I hung up on him after nicely yelling about how stupid that assessment was and how they bullshitted me throughout the whole process pretty much, no apology, he just repeated the same thing like robot which made me more irate.... I still love the car and Kearny Pearson Ford but Ford CRC is complete BS!

  3. Meandering.. LOL....That issue is closed for now. I'll update the case with the details. I went under the car and can barely see the petcock, the ground effects on the sport also help to hide it. I think I'll just pay for the coolant flush. haha. Reason I asked, the coolant level hovers around the lower mark just after getting home from work and the engine is still hot. Also, the coolant res has some brown residue around the inside higher up inside and the coolant is green (I keep reading that the gold coolant should be used)
  4. Looking to whether or not to do this myself. I'm seeing so much conflicting info on how to do it. This link seemed to be the best but then I noticed it as 2007-2010... http://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/2008_Ford_Edge_SE_3.5L_V6/coolant_antifreeze/flush_coolant Does the 2011 have a petcock?
  5. We're taking a road trip to Denver in January. Do they have lower Octane fuel there?
  6. The techs confirmed that the frame was not bent. I sat down with the shop foreman today and he said he's never had a car in 24 years that he could not fix. Between me, him and the service advisor we're all haunted by this issue hahahahaha ehhhhhh.... BUT at this point I can say, *something happened to this car*..
  7. I bought pre-owned 2011 Ford edge sport and right away noticed a steering issue with the car that 2 dealerships could not fix. The first dealership (selling dealership) tried a few things but in the end told me it was normal and did not confirm the issue. The second dealership confirmed the issue and also confirmed they could not fix it. The thread of the technical posts is below. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18434-abnormal-steering-on-the-37-sport/ My case with Ford customer care and they will be reviewing if the car is eligible for buyback or replacement. Aside from Lemon laws of CA, does anyone have any experience they can share with me about how this process works?
  8. I met with the shop foreman today, he said they checked all of the above.....
  9. I know you guys may be out of suggestions for me but I wanted to run this by the board again... After getting the car back I have noticed some new things.... I originally said that this only happens at higher speeds....This is not the case. I can feel the car pull the right whenever I accelerate at ALL speeds, just not from a full stop. When I accelerate, the car pulls/shifts to the right and so does the steering wheel. The car stays traveling forward however. When I change lanes, the car may wobble based on throttle position because the original issue that I explained. I can feel the front of the car shift to the right slightly every time I give it moderate gas. I am not sure if any work they have done to the car is making me notice this issue now OR maybe I just wasn't able to notice this before. Of course they checked all of the linkages but they did not say whether they checked suspension. The right side engine mount was replaced and I do not hear that noise or feel that vibration anymore so obviously the mount was worn. The previous dealership replaced both front struts because the right one was busted. To me, it seems that someone hit something hard on that right front side and because those tires are thin, I'm sure the suspension takes most of the force. I'm willing to bet that this pulling issue has something to do with that. They replaced the axles, p/s pump, inspected the differential so the issue is not "internal" I'm leaning towards suspension now. Could there have been something missed when they replaced the struts? In other words, can the strut mount or something be bad but it's just not protocol to change that also? The selling dealership is the ones who replaced it, before I really reported the issue and plus these are the same techs who told me it was torque steer and it's normal...
  10. What am I supposed to do? Other than this issue the car runs great and has 0 other issues. It's our only car also, can't afford to just trade it in or sell it and find a new car, I already financed a good amount on this one.
  11. Got the car back. They fixed the noise on reverse with a new engine mount on the right side. The field service engineer was not able to fix the pulling issue and refereed me to customer relations. CRC is now working with the "good faith dept." to find out if the car qualifies for replacement or buyback.
  12. Who knows...Anyway.. The differential is being replaced. This is to address a different issue but I'm wondering if this may be the reason for the steering issue. My thoughts are, perhaps above a certain speed, the right wheel/axle is getting slightly less torque due to some kind of breakage or wear... They won't be done until the end of week.
  13. Funny because I was told by a few different people at the purchasing dealership that the car was owned by an older woman. Of course that does not mean that this woman was the only person driving it, nor that the woman wasn't a maniac on the road...75K miles on 5 year old car in SD is pretty low however and the car is in great condition. (I put about 50K miles on our previous edge in 2.5 years)... But yea, again since the car had a broken right strut when I got, something happened to this car shortly before they traded it in. Someone ran over something hard.. I can't afford to just get rid of this car and get another one. After all, Ford is on the hook for all repairs and I have a free rental. Totally different story if I had to pay for all of this.
  14. Ford gave me another update. They need to replace the race bearing. Could this possibly cause the issue I've been talking about? They're replacing it to address the grinding on reverse issue however..
  15. I do, I have an F150. It's the only thing keeping me sane because I seriously miss my car.
  16. As for the other issue I mentioned, (the grinding sound and feel when I accelerate in reverse) they are replacing the transmission. I was glad to hear that and I'm definitely breaking even on my warranty now.. This MAY fix the steering issue also, who knows....
  17. I really hate how they managed to get SIRI synced with MFT but NOT CORTANA! It's all about iphone user's screw Android even though the OS is more sophisticated....automatic phone reconnection? My MFT already does that....Easier navigation in China...Cool, next time I fly out there I'll ship my car in a container 30 days prior and try it out.........Thanks Ford....
  18. They also replaced the axle. Still same issue. They drove a few sport models from from around the same year and did not notice any issues. The FSE is now stumped also and contacting the plant in Ontario Canada where the car was built. I really don't know what they are going to tell him but I think they are getting close to giving up on it... Now I am thinking that it may be the steering column, thoughts??? Given the Techs feedback, they confirm something is not right I cannot give up on this. I'm hoping it doesn't get to the point where I'm gonna have to find a mechanic somewhere and pay out of pocket OR somehow complain enough to the selling dealership or Ford to compensate me somehow. I can't afford legal action and even if so, I can't just leave the car in the driveway and not touch it...
  19. 2.5 weeks after I brought the car in..Ford Field service engineer is now looking at the car and recommended a power steering pump replacement. I'm skeptic on this but we'll see.....
  20. Car is still at dealer. I have a 2015 F150 as a rental so no complaints, I said keep it as long as you have to, I just want it fixed. Dealer calls me yesterday and told me that the previous dealer may have installed the wrong steering rack and will have a better update for me today....Are there two different steering racks used for the Ford edge, or an update one perhaps? Didn't really make sense..
  21. Car has been in my regular dealer for one day and mechanic already notices the steering issue and they are not pushing back on torque steer. They mentioned that there *may* be an issue with the frame..the frame!? SA asked if I've ever seen those cars on the road that appear to going straight but look crooked, I said yes.... He said that he will call the selling dealership and try and get some more info from them.. But the frame!?
  22. Bringing the car in to new another dealership this week, same place I took my previous car all of the time. It is due for an oil change and will be bringing up the issue again. I'm now leaning towards the the axle as the culprit, especially since this new grinding sound develops when accelerating in reverse/up a hill. The mechanics at the other dealership did mention replacing the axle at first but then that idea seemed to fizzle out... I asked if it could be CV joints but they doubted it but everything I research seems to point to the CV joints, only thing is I do not experience any of the symptoms mentioned with CV joints (no clicking etc)..Thinking, maybe I'll just say that the symptoms exist in hopes that they just believe me and replace the axles? Any other issues with the axles that can cause this grinding on reverse or loose steering at high speeds?
