  1. Good afternoon all Anyone have good or bad experience with the Ford front bumper parking assist sensors?
  2. Good morning ..... Picked up a 2013 SEL Edge a couple of weeks ago. I had sold a couple of cars that I had and wanted to find a car that could blend some of the fun factor of my Saab convertible and the utility of my Honda Element......not a easy task. I looked and researched everything and found it very limited to meet the criteria for under $40K. I did manage to narrow down to the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Ford Edge. The Tiguan's interiors were absolutely outstanding but the functionality and utility was lacking. It drove and felt similar to my wife's Audi. It's need for premium gas was a total disappointment and was rejected. The Edge seemed to meet the majority of my needed. I would have to research the differences between the SEL, Limited and the Sport. I needed towing, Sunroof and leather. I would also appreciate any driving and safety option available as well. Visually, I am not a fan of Ford's idea of enhanced luxury via chrome or Blacked out pieces. So a loaded SEL was now in the realm of ownership. Casey at Harris Ford in Seattle helped me find my Mineral Grey/Med Stone Edge. The utility of the Edge is very solid although not like the Element (nothing is). The looks however, drew me in. While not perfect as all vehicles are, it did allowed for some simple customizing. I removed and replace the chrome 20" wheels and replaced with a set of Falken wheels that look sensational. I added the EGR matte black hood guard, added OEM rails and replace the chrome front grill for black .......she is a total keeper. I think there will be a learning curve with the MyFord touch screen but am optimistic that after I have time and a few upgrades to the software I will be satisfied. I will say the quality of the leather is average at best but will use waterproofing and covers to protect. This is a fine vehicle that I am proud to own. I have always been a Ford F150 owner and excited to have purchased American once more. There are arguably better vehicles out there in the category, however, none were able to meet all my needs as the Edge. Drive safe.
  3. These were taken off my SEL with 10MILES on the odometer Will ship to USA.....$850. Comes with Lugs. No tires (you like your on choice of shoes anyway). Did I mention they are perfect ? Thanks for your interest.
  4. I have the 2013 with the VistaRoof and had the OEM rails installed. The OEM crossbars and all aftermarket low profile will not work. However most brands, Thule, Inno, Yakima, etc sell cross bars that clamp above the rail profile. The glass should have clearance with those types of crossbars. I have the Thule 440s on mine (they were just lying around) but there are a ton of choices. Just confirm your clearance before you commit to crossbars. It's a nice clean look. Good luck.
  5. FYI....OEM rails do work on Edge with vista roof. OEM cross bars and other low profile crossbars DO NOT WORK with roof. I now have OEM rails with Thule 440s which sit above the height of rails and works perfect with the vista roof. Nice, clean and functional.
  6. I just wanted a safe reliable car that had great function and utility and didn't crush me in price. Looked at the Volkswagen, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Kia, Audi and Volvo.......no thanks. What ever issues pop up along the way, and they will, I'll deal with. If I keep it long term I will extend the warranty to keep things in check. All cars have issues, but the Edge hit the sweet spot for me and even left me with a few dollars to customize. It's all good......or at least good enough.
  7. So......I just purchased a beautiful 2013 with a Vista roof and after reading all the conversations about racks that work with the sunroof, I couldn't understand why the OEM rails were not being offered from Ford. Turns out it has nothing to do with the integrity of the roof or the rails themselves. It has everything to do with the cross bars and clearance. The OEM cross bars and likely many LOW PROFILE CROSSBARS WILL NOT WORK. The glass will likely make contact when opening. However, if using aftermarket crossbars that sits above the height of the OEM rails will work just fine.
  8. how is the plasti-dipped holding up on front grill and trim. Is that grill plasti-dipped or primed (no-paint)? Thanks....
  9. Good Morning......I just noticed your photos of your edge and am curious how the process went. I would like to know what was needed to remove and replace badges and paint the front grill out. Did you have to remove the entire front to get the grill painted and how were the badges removed? I have the billit badges and primed grill ready to go. Also the thin chrome piece above the grill and emblem ring were painted as well. How was that acheived? LOVE you edge . Appreciate your thoughts. Josh

  10. I know old topic but looking at this aftermarket setup with the rail screwed to the surface of the roof, I don't understand why the OEM which connects within the channel is not offered by Ford. Am I missing something? I would assume the OEM would be less intrusive to any function of the Vista roof. Am I crazy?
  11. Hi There..... can you tell me what color you painted the front grill? Is it a specific matte black? I would like to do the same to my mineral grey 2013. I just ordered the running boards and hood guard from one of your dealers........Thanks you for your help. Nicest edge I've seen. Your boards and guard should look very nice.
  12. I have seen front grills that appear matte black or unpainted. Anyone gone that route? I just ordered the OEM replacement to replace chrome grill and debating about painting. I apologize if this has already been discussed. Appreciate your help.
