  1. I've been researching at the new Sync3 platform. I'm trying to visualize it being used while driving. The screen seems to lack any color making it so vanilla that it would be hard to know where to press the screen without stopping and reading each button. It's like reading kindle. The other problem is that when you have a white screen like that it can be a huge distraction at night, because it will be so bright. They need to give it some contrast so people can gaze over and hit the button they want.

I think that MFT has a better layout and they just need to tweak what they have. What do you think?

  2. I'm 6 foot tall and I my seat pulls forward at least 3 inches ever time I get into the car. But if my seat was way back the steering wheel doesnt telescope out far enough to make it comfortable. I guess any taller than 6 foot and you'll start to feel awkward. The seats are nice and wide though and plenty of room to spread out right to left.

  3. I had this happen to my 2004 Ford Escape and it was a broken Tone ring. It wasn't too bad to replace. Corrosion formed under it and the ring snapped so when I hit the brakes the ABS would trigger every time.

Sounds like you have a similar problem but with traction control it will do it on turns because the outer wheel will spin faster. Your broken tone ring will be on the right side, opposite of the turning direction.

  4. Im getting a little annoyed now that I'm hearing we won't get sync3. I just want to be able to update MFT using the WIFI connection and some apps like Pandora. What's wrong with adding this? Those of us that have MFT or MLT payed for a premium system with the hardware for wifi and the option for Apps that is pretty much useless. COME ON FORD. Give us some good news. Its crazy that the basic Sync system gets apps but MFT doesn't. WHO AGREES?

  5. I found a bunch of blue LEDs in my electrical tool box from a ambient lighting project 10 years ago in my Mitsubishi 3000gt. I was going to buy them online but you can get them faster if you go to radio shack. I've bought them there in the past but they charge a lot more money and I think you'll need to purchase the resistors separately to make them work appropriate for the 12volt system. Good Luck.

  6. I think you would be able to remove the illuminated part and install it on the sills that you have. I compared my standard stainless sills vs the illuminated ones and the part number molded into the plastic was the same. There are small metal tabs(part of the exposed stainless) that protrude through the plastic sill and are bent over to hold the stainless in place. Gently bending them straight and pushing the piece out should make it an easy swap.
