  1. I purchased some Blizzaks, steel wheels, TPMS's, and TPMS reset tool from my Ford dealer for my 2015 Edge LTD. Anyway twice in a row now I have done the seasonal swap (I do it myself), but did not "retrain" the sensors right away so the pressure warning light in the dash came on. After about 5 days or so of driving the dash light stopped coming on and has stayed off. Has anybody else noticed this? Is this normal? Looks like I didn't need the reset tool if you can live with the warning light in the dash for 5 days.
  2. That was it akirby. I didn't even know you could do a reboot/reset on an iPod, in fact I've had this one for 5 years and have never had to do a reset. Also it works perfectly fine on the other platforms I play it on in the house, work, and my work shop. Also it updates and erases perfectly automatically too. Anyway I went online to see which iPod this is exactly, then how to do a reset, then plugged it into my Edge and it plays fine again. Had you not asked me about that, I don't think I would have solved this. Thank you very much!!!
  3. It might be an iPod Nano but I don't remember for sure, and it just says iPod on it. I could see a software problem if it never worked or if this was a new device, but this iPod has worked perfect everyday since Mar 2014 when I bought the vehicle new. It just stopped working one day earlier this week. Could that still be a software issue? I'm not sure I understand. How does it work one day, then the next day it doesn't. FWIW I went to the link you provided and it says my Sync is up to date and has my VIN etc so I know it's the right vehicle. To be honest though it's never been updated since the Edge was new, so it must have had, and still does have the most up to date software. Does that sound right?
  4. 2014 Edge Limited with Sony Premium Stereo. I purchased this Edge new and never had a problem playing music and Podcasts from my iPod until now 2.5 years later. I confirmed the iPod works fine in my speaker dock in my work shop, but when I connect it to my Edge I can't get it to play anything. What's interesting is that once I connect it to my Edge, it sync's and recognizes it and in fact my whole library of music and podcasts is available on the screen in my car. I will pick a song to play or a Podcast to listen too and it shows that item on the screen but simply will not play it. I can fast forward to the next song etc and it shows the new song on the display but again won't play it. It's as if it's on pause, but pushing the play/pause button does nothing and the timer shows 00:00 and stays there. I even tried verbally commanding it to play a new title, and sure enough that title on the screen switched to the one I asked for but it just sits at 00:00 and won't play it. It used to just play it automatically. Even just connecting my iPod, it would play automatically. For the hec of it I tried a master reset of the system in the car setting, but it made no difference. I also tried a different cable from the iPod to the usb port, and I have tried both usb ports inside the console, but it still does the same thing and just sort of hangs there not playing anything. CD works fine as does the radio and all controls. Anybody else have an issue like this, or have any other ideas for me?
  5. Great, thanks I will look for it this weekend as I'm changing the oil. I was a having a stale air smell when I turned on the heater. I have not had a chance to use the A/C yet so didn't check for water dripping, but it's getting warm here now. I suspect I will find the drain hose is not plugged, so it sounds like service with the Lubegard Kool-It is worth a try.
  6. If so where might I find it? I'd like to check it and be sure it's not plugged.
  7. I love this thread. It's interesting to hear the thought process of others and what we all take into consideration. I decided on a Blue 2014 Edge Limited. I heard the 2015 was going to be a next generation model. To be honest I won't buy the first year of any new vehicle, and I'm not interested in the first year of a new generation either. Anyway as I use my Edge at times for work purposes (travelling to other cities and towns) and living in very cold Saskatchewan winters, I felt I had a lot to consider. I ruled out the Sport due to the bigger engine and 22" wheels (love the looks though). Options considered to be important to me (in no particular order) are the Sony Premium Stereo with 12 speakers, heated seats, HID's, Panoramic roof, voice activated navigation, keyless entry and starting, and AWD. Also I love the 20" chrome clads which to me are the nicest looking factory wheel on any car in this price range, and also many of high end crossovers. Now as it turns out after having my Edge now for 8 months, I've had some options & features really grow on me such as the 10 way power seats (with memory for my wife), back-up camera, and BLIS package.
  8. I name all my cars and thought long and hard about my new Deep Impact Blue Edge. After careful consideration I came up with Edgey. I know what you all are thinking...very creative. LOL
  9. Sorry for the late reply as I have not been here in a while. You are correct, I used a medium sized ziptie.
  10. I too was concerned about the bumper fluddering in the wind at high speed without that factory bracket screwed in. Ford put a bracket there for a reason? Anyway I wanted a hidden hitch no matter what so I thought when installing it, I will see if there is anything I can do to help compensate, as opposed to just leaving it there unattached. This was months ago now when I installed it, but I beleive I ended up attaching a plastic tie strap through the screw hole in the bracket, and wrapping the strap around part of the hitch. Essentially the bracket is now fixed to the hitch "so to speak" and very secure just as if it was screwed into the car frame. If the plastic strap breaks at some point (it ain't gonna last forever) it's easy to just wrap another strap around it. As others have mentioned I likely didn't need to do that, but it only took an extra minute to do and gave me some piece of mind.
  11. Seriously??? I laughed when I read that. I couldn't disagree with them any more. In fact some of their reasons to avoid are the reasons I decided on my 2014 Edge over the competition. Hec I'm not even a Ford guy (per se). I tested a lot of vehicles in this class and found the Edges ride better than most. Jittery is a term I might use to describe my buddies newer Boss 302 Mustang, and certainly not a SUV/CUV. They lose all credibility with me on that statement alone. Road noise? It was my Edge that was noticeably quieter than the competition based on my ears when road testing. And last we have the Ford My touch system. I think it's only convoluted if you are stuck in the past or just like rotary knobs. In my opinion Ford is leading the way with this technology for cars in this class, so yes there are things you will need to learn, it's called PROGRESS. I'm not sayig it's perfect, and you will never please everybody, but it's a lot to offer than what much of the competition does. Maybe not the best example, but a while back I posted on this form because I couldn't figure out how to get my drivers door handle to unlock all 4 doors. That's not Ford's fault. I think it's great to have the option to turn it on or off, but other complain it's convoluted... get real.
  12. Yep, you were correct, thanks so much. FWIW I swear I went through evey menu in this CUV like 3 times looking for something just like that, but obviuosly didn't look hard enough. Doh!
  13. I have the keyless entry in my Edge Ltd, and when I used to touch the inside of the drivers door handle I was fairly certain it would unlock all 4 doors. This past week I noticed it's only unlocking the drivers door now. It still locks all 4 doors when I touch the outside of the drivers door handle. Also FWIW when I touch the passenger front door handle it will lock/unlock all 4 doors for me. The only thing that I have done was about a week ago I did a "master reset" of the Myford Touch from the dispay panel, as the voice activated sytems's voice had stopped coming through. The master reset fixed that issue, but I don't think that has anyhting to do with the door locks. Anybody run into a problem like this where the inner handle feature unlocks that door only? Could I have accidently done something that caused/changed this feature in either the large touch display settings, or settings in the gauge cluster screens via the steering wheels buttons? Thanks.
