  1. 2014 SE AWD. $28,600 out the door ... before taxes.
  2. Unfortunately, when I purchased my 2014 Edge SE AWD, it was a "plain jane" but had the ford sync with it. I have been searching to see if I could upgrade and put in an after market camera and see if there is a video input in the stock non-myford touch head unit. I haven't been able to see if there is an auxillary video input so I decided to do a wireless system. My first question is, "Where does the stock back up camera mount on our Ford Edges?" If I can get one that will fit in the stock location, that would be great. If not, I would have to get an aftermarket unit. Send question is, "Has anyone modified the sunglass holder in the head liner (flip down compartment) to hold a video display like that of a small GPS or Video screen for one of these aftermarket camera systems? I'm not keen on sticking the unit to the windshield or mounting it to the dash. I want to be able to hide it and keep it permanently mounted. I was thinking of doing it with one of these ...
  3. I'm sure cruise control and self control had a lot to do with the mileage. I'm sure if I romped on the accelerator from a light or drove aggressively, my mileage would be considerably lower. That being said, I am very happy with my purchase. Especially since it was an impulse buy, well ... kinda. It replaced my daily driver (fwd Impala) which was getting old. I gave that car to a family member that really needed it.
  4. Well, I just returned from a road trip to Chesapeake, Virginia from Rockland County, NY. It was a nice drive with a mix of highway and local drives. Heading down to Virginia, I took Route 13 and crossed the Chesapeake Bay bridge. For those of you that don't know, route 13 is a mix of highway speeds (55-65) and local speeds ranging from 35-55 mph and a lot of stop lights where the roads get into local "downtown"areas in Maryland and Delaware. Along with driving around, my total mileage was 819.5 miles. I used a total of 33.56 gallons for the trip and averaged 24.3 MPG with mixed driving. Pretty good for a 3.5L AWD. BTW, the car is a 2014 SE AWD and only has 11,349.5 miles on the clock.

    Named your Edge?

When I got my Edge, my mom saw it and said ... "That's the car that Derek Jeter endorses!" Yes, she's a big Yankees fan. I left the edge with them for the first 2 weeks since I was going overseas for vacation. My edge has been called "Jeter" ever since. Once a car is named, I don't believe in changing the name especially if it's a woman that names it. Makes for bad vibes.
  6. I'm sure your lady will like it but plan on liking the ride as well. Is it AWD or FWD? Congrats on the ride!
  7. I just went with the SE AWD model. I wasn't too interested in the bells and whistles and I knew I would be getting aftermarket rims in the future. This is a stock 2014 SE AWD with Ford Sync. The only upgrade I did was to the headlights via HID upgrade from xenon pro.com
  8. Have you checked the seals around the lift gate? If these seals are cracked, damaged or just don't seal correctly, there can be exhaust intrusion. What you can also do is get a "smoke machine and turn on your ac (fresh air mode) on high, turn on the smoke machine till the car is full of smoke and go to the back of the truck and see where smoke is being forced out. It will come out of the air extractors since that is what they are designed for but if it comes out anywhere else, you have found your leak.
  9. I have a 2014 SE with AWD. Mixed driving will get me 17-19 mpg (depending on traffic) When I fuel up and reset to go on a drive to my parents house 74 miles away, I fill up at a gas station roughly 1/2 mile away from the highway. After resetting and taking my own mileage notes, I will get about 24.3 mpg. Pretty good and I am doing about 73 mph with cruise control on and a/c on. Not too far off from what the sticker says. My edge has almost 5K on the odometer. If I get aggressive while driving, of course the mileage goes down but still hovers around 22mpg.
  10. Ok, after a beer and rethinking, I finally found them. On the passenger side, just to the right of the dust cap of the headlight bulb enclosure, there is a black part with a WHITE hex head. On the drivers side, it's to the left of the dust cap of the headlight enclosure. Now all I have to do is wait for it to be dark enough to make the slight adjustment for the beams to be even. I will post pics when I can.
  11. 2014 Edge SE AWD with roof rails and ford sync for 28,700 before tax, fees and dealer incentives.
  12. I bought a 2014 Edge SE AWD in June and I love it! I didn't need all the bells and whistles but AWD was a necessity here in Rockland County, NY. When I first drove the car at night, I wasn't impressed with the headlight illumination so I knew I would be upgrading to HID. I went with the 35W unit from Xenonpro.com and made sure I purchased the warning cancel unit to avoid the hyper flashing. Install went pretty well. The hardest part was figuring out how to mount it where the original HID ballast should have gone. My only problem now is adjusting the headlights. I went through the manual and tried to locate the hex head adjustment. The drawing in the manual doesn't really help. Has anyone adjusted their headlights on their edge? If you have, can you post a picture of where it is? For the life of me, I can't seem to find the hex head adjustment they are referring to. Thanks in advance!
  13. I bought my 2014 SE AWD in June. I didn't need all the bells and whistles. The only thing I wish I had was the rear camera. The ride is nice. Some complain about the firmness and road noise, it's not too bad with the 18" wheels. The pickup surprised me. It has enough "get up and go" to satisfy me. All in all, if you keep things in perspective and remember that this is a cross over and the ride height will affect the handling, you won't be disappointed. I wasn't and am actually quite happy with the purchase. The only thing I upgraded were the lights. The original ones had to go so I upgraded to HID's and now I can finally see. One of the best purchases I made. All I have to do now is see how she will handle this winter in the snow.
  14. Picked up my 2014 Edge SE AWD just this past Monday. Loving the ride, already looking to do some mods/upgrades. This is why I just went with the SE AWD. Looking forward to swapping some ideas with everyone!
