  1. I was trolling around Youtube and came across this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ynGWxzJHjA. He recommends BG 44K Fuel System Cleaner to clean the system andChevron 65740 Techron Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner to prevent build up.

I sort of think most of this is snake oil, but he makes good points. Anything to allow my 2.7 turbo to run better and not damage things is what I am after.

    Any one use this stuff?

  2. I finally got around to really cleaning my windshield and rear hatch windows. I too had the same film on the inside of the windows which did not want to come off. I ended up taking a sponge with some dish washing liquid on it. I wiped each section a number of times, then dried with a cotton type cloth. I then went over it with some glass cleaner (Meguiars NXT stuff I had laying around). I sprayed the glass cleaner on then removed it with a microfiber cloth. I then went back over with a clean and dry microfiber cloth to remove any residue. Seemed to work for me. Just using glass cleaner really didn't help until I used the dish soap with sponge.

  3. You can use Meguiar's Ultimate Compound. It is fairly inexpensive $10 or so. Should do the trick and easy to find at Target or Walmart. I have some Meguiars Water Spot Remover which, I am told, is similar to the Ultimate Compound. I also think you can use it on water spots on glass. I am not sure vinegar would work easily, but I have not tried it.

Also, I had water spots and a clay bar did nothing to remove them. Maybe it was too fine, but it was a Meguiar's kit.

  4. I just had this same hitch installed yesterday on my 2015 Sport. I had my buddy do it at his shop and he said the hardest part was running the wire from the rear of the vehicle up to the front battery. The wire kit is plug and play, but you do have to run a wire directly to the battery. Overall it looks good, but I did find it a bit more difficult to open the tailgate with your foot, although it does work.

I plan to tow my 18' aluminimum fishing boat and my ATV with my Edge. I hope that it is able to tow the boat ok as it is about 2,800lbs including trailer. tounge weight is not to bad, but as pointed out before this hitch does sit somewhat low. I also have an adjustable ball mount and will be using that.

Nice! Would you be able to post a picture? I like seeing how these turn out.

  5. That looks awesome. I will be picking one of these up at some point. I am currently using an old cargo mat from a Sub Forrester that my mom was throwing out. Certainty not a custom fit. I will also take a look at the Ford OEM version to see how that looks.

A little off topic, my Weathertech front mats arrived and they fit perfect. My only really small gripe is that I wish the foot rest was a little taller (like 2 inches). I can see snow potentially getting behind it.

  6. Unless I missed it, the only ones at Cabela's are the "generic" ones. The mat that I ordered is custom cut for the 2015 Edge.

    Nope, custom ones. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-TrailGear-2-Floor-Liners-by-WeatherTech174/1088481.uts

Yup. After using ONR I have never went back to traditional washing (unless a car is covered in dirt/mud/salt.....then I may take it through a touchless wash first).

Duragloss Aquawax is a good spray wax. I buy it by the gallon. You can find the smaller spray bottle at CarQuest.

If you are applying Spray Wax after ONR W&W, you may want to just buy the regular ONR (blue stuff) to save a few bucks. I buy ONR by the gallon from Amazon Prime.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up buying the green ONR because it was only a couple bucks more. I will probably buy the regular ONR next time. I want to get a good paint sealant. I was thinking one of the Chemical Guys products like M-Seal. Amazon seems to have all kinds of coupons lately on CG products so I was waiting for one on one of their paint sealants. I might pick up a bottle of Duragloss to try it, since it seems pretty cheap. My auto care products collection is growing each time I learn more...

  8. Wax: AquaWax, Optimum Car Wax, or a few other spray waxes for regular application. I may put something more durable on right before the winter.

Sealant: Opti-Seal. To easy to use. Great protection.

    Wash: Optimum No Rinse (ONR)

    Tire Shine: Opti-Bond diluted 1:1

Interior: Aerospace 303 after wiping down with a damp cloth (usually damp with ONR from a wash).

Just received some ONR Wash & Wax. Stuff is freaken awesome! Why have I never used it before? I washed 3 cars in the time it would take to wash 1. Just need to grab some better spray wax, I am running out of Meguiars NXT stuff.

  9. People can take it for what it's worth, and I believe dealers will sell you vehicle right now. I was not planning on getting 2015, and from what I've read so far I would not take the chance. I will be waiting for the 2016 and hope all the issues are worked out by then.

I found this line curious... "It's interesting to note that vehicles that do have evidence of water damage after the three-day procedure may qualify for a buy back. Customers would need to work through their customer service rep on the details." Why would they buy back vehicles with no water damage. Wonder what is the criteria? I think @WingNut should investigate. :)

  10.

Can you access the clamp easily if it does pop off? Like pull off the side of the road and tighten it back on? Or will removal of other parts be required?

I can tell you, it is a bit of a pain to get to. It's under the air filter assembly. I can sort of reach it, but there is no way I could get enough leverage to push it back on then enough room to tighten the clamp. If this happens to me again, I will just let the dealer handle it again. With my luck I would lose bolts or forget something. So far, it's been good since I took it in last time.

  11. To clean the wheels I use Sonax Wheel Cleaner. Stuff works great. I also put a coat of wax on the wheels. I think it helps a little to keep it clean. We get a ton of salt on our roads in the winter and and trying to make sure the wheels do not get corroded is difficult no matter how much I can clean them.

  12. Has anyone noticed how some of the trim does not fit too well around the rear windows and driver side headliner. It seems the headliner is a little small and cut too small on the driver side. I tried to fit it back but it's too small and keeps popping out of the black trim.I am thinking I could get some two sided tape and try and tack it up where it is supposed to be.

Also, the rear window trim looks like it does not fit well. I can push the black trim in. See the pictures for what I mean.
