  1. I know this is a little older thread, but I wanted to add my 2 cents. I have the little magnetic mount that is in the vent. Works great. I also bought one of those suction cup mounts and put it on the dash the first week I had the car. What a mistake. It left a huge ring. Fortunately, it is mostly gone a year and a half later.
  2. I have to say, I love my electric spice Edge. I ordered it in November of 2014 without seeing it. I've had so many people come up to me saying how much they love the color and wish their car had it. I do not however, like it on the Escape. Maybe it's just too small to have this color or something.
  3. I would think any paint sealant would be fine with a wax on top. Both the sealant and the wax have UV protectors.
  4. That's odd. I have a 2015 and have no issues (5000 MP3's on a USB).I see you have a 2016 so it is likely a little different experience. I make sure that all my tags are correct using a Windows app called mp3tag (it's free and works awesome).
  5. Does anyone have experience with the Reese hitches for the Sport? A local place quoted me $256 installed for a class 3. Trying to search the forum is a bit challenging. I miss the 2015 section. I am curious if they are round tube or square. It doesn't matter that much, but I think a square tubing would look a little better.
  6. I have a dash rattle also. Just haven't had time to diagnose. I thought it was coming from the center storage compartment. Separate topic, I asked the dealer to fix the cup holder rattle when they replaced my headliner and of course they couldn't hear it. I will just fix it myself.
  7. The Ford all weather mats are absolute crap. They barely cover the front carpets. I used mine for about 2 months in the summer before I grabbed some Weathertech's. I am planning on getting the rear mats and cargo liner soon. We had about 2o inches of snow and they were awesome, trapping all of the salt and crap.
  8. I used to use the quick lube places when I had my first job and an apartment. I quickly learned that being quick sucks. I got home one time and they left the oil fill cap off. Oil was everywhere under the hood. When I went back, they said that I was scamming them and that I took it off. That was 15 years ago. My last car had lifetime oil changes from a dealer so I took advantage of that. As much as I liked doing it myself, it was often messy. With my new Edge, I had a free oil change from the dealer so I used that. My next one I will probably do myself and add synthetic. Thanks for the write up. Certainly helps. Looks like I will need to get a new oil change pan. My old one cracked and I threw it out.
  9. That's a beautiful color! I love my 2015 Electric Spice, but I would surely looked at that color especially with a black grill.
  10. Ha! I have a small tool/emergency kit in mine that I had in my Xterra in mine too as well as what you have above. I like the storage.
  11. Check out this thread. In one of the other "rattle" threads, there is more detail with a couple pictures. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18414-cupholder-rattle/ I guess you just take off the panel on the passenger side and add some 3M 2 sided tape. From the posts, it should snug it pretty good and tight.
  12. I agree, that is not right. Mine has not done that. I have had mine since early March. I am getting a bunch of other things fixed in about 2 weeks. This includes short carpet, short cut headliner, malformed window trim, and cup holder rattle (I know I COULD fix this but the dealer said they would). I am happy to have a great dealer. I am confident if I had the water issues some of you had, the dealer would have replaced the vehicle no questions asked. of course, it also doesn't hurt to have a good friend that is their top salesman working there.
  13. My car has glass coverage which is not subject to the deductible. You should check your insurance. If you have a deductible, then you should see if it can be fixed.
  14. Did you call or was there an online price search somewhere on their site. I looked but didn't see anything.
  15. Ugh, thanks for the replies. Looks like mine are not working too well.
  16. How can I tell if the heated seats are actually working? I was out this morning in 33 degree temps and turned them on. It really didn't seem like they did much after 20 minutes. I know in my wife's crappy Rogue, they get noticeably warm after a few minutes. Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order.
  17. Nice, post some pics when you get them! Also, remember to chat or call Autoanything, they can usually take 15% off the cost (and free shipping).
  18. Nice job with the pics and all. I will also take a closer look. I have a build date of Feb. I have other fit issues that I need to get addressed. I'll try and get some pics. I have another thread I created somewhere. My issues: The carpet on the passenger side front does not fit tight and blocks the floor lights because it is pulled away from the side. Both rear small window molding look warped My headliner on the driver side does not fit within the rubber molding and slightly hangs My issues is that will the dealer be able to replace these items without making more issues or rattles?
  19. I am looking to get the cargo liner and checked Cabelas. All the Edge Weathertech mats are on sale! These things never go on sale. I can confirm they ship and are the EXACT same mats that you get from Weathertech. I am sort of shocked they are on sale for as much as they are. $99 cargo liner (plus tax and shipping) $88 front mats (plus tax and shipping) $71 rear mats (plus tax and shipping) They are called Cabela’s TrailGear 2 Floor Liners by WeatherTech
  20. Finally got around to really cleaning and prepping the Edge for winter. I wanted to try something new and researched what @Wingnut uses. I washed with ONR+Wax and clayed. Grabbed some Opti-Seal (I needed something easy and that lasts a while) and some really cheap Duragloss Aquawax (Carquest is clearing it out at $4.50 a bottle). Opti-seal is just plain awesome and easy to work with. I barely used any for both cars. This bottle will last me 10 years. I added it to the windows also as well as all the lights. I also did my wife's silver Rogue and my mother-in-law stopped over and was amazed at how well it looked and shined.
  21. I saw that Husky also makes a liner. I think they routinely run 15% off sales. I have no knowledge how they fit or work. Never used them but they seem like a decent deal when on sale and would be the same price as the Ford OEM mat. https://www.huskyliners.com/WeatherBeater-Floor-Mats/2015/ford/edge
  22. I've been satisfied also. I would give it a 7 out of 10. Overall, I think it seems to be made very well. The seams are tight and gaps really good around the doors. I have not noticed any overspray. Some of the plastic is a bit soft as Wingnut noted and you can push it in. Exterior Issues: molding around the rear windows is buckling I noticed where the fog lights would go, the cover was some how pushed in. This was like this from day one (I had pictures from when I picked it up), just didn't notice until the other day. Interior Issues: my roof headliner is cut a little short near the drivers side the interior carpet is cut short on the passenger side causing the LED in the footwell to be blocked rattle on arm rest
  23. I only purchased the front mats. They do not slide on either the drivers or passenger side that I noticed. They are pretty awesome. I ended up getting mine through Cabela's with a coupon and a discounted gift card from eBay. I am just waiting for another gift card deal to get the rear ones and cargo mat. I may just wait until BF to see if there are any deals. I keep my cars for more than 10 years (usually) so these are a good investment. My poor Xterra had salt all over the carpets, that I was never really able to get out. I should have not been so cheap when I bought it. I also bought some Rain‑X Upholstery Repel Guard that was FAR. Maybe I will spray some on the exposed carpet areas around the mats. Not expecting much since these nano-coating fabric protectors do not last long.
  24. AWD. Need to go through feet of snow at times.
