I have an '08 work a factory sub, but there is a remote line from the factory head unit I was able to tap into for my installation.

I just bought a used 2008 edge limited with the audiophile system. It's lacking in clarity. I added a JL acp108lg and changed out the front speakers for some JL 5x7s. Now I find the system lacking in midbass. I've disconnected the factory sub, and now I'm going to reconnect it to see if it helps. My thought is to find a new 8" midbass driver on a budget, put that in place of the factory sub and have a nicely rounded system on a modest budget. Any thoughts or suggestions on this idea?

Gary, I know I'm bringing a post back from the dead, but I just picked up an Edge and I'm curious how you're liking your setup. I like the look of the factory stereo, but even with the Audiophile system I would like a bit more clarity. Thoughts on your setup as posted here?
