  1. I also have used the K&N in my vehicles and have never had a problem. Just put one in my 08 Edge about a month ago. I know I've heard the mileage computer on the Edge is not that accurate but since I'm to lazy to figure it out myself that is what I use. Checked it yesterday and it said I was getting 21.3 MPG, and that's mostly city driving, I'm older so I don't have a heavy foot like some. Seems pretty good to me. I was getting a little less than that before installing the K&N so whether it helps or not I'm not sure. Engine seems to run pretty much the same as before. I only have 4550 miles on the vehicle so it's not really broken in yet.
  2. Yep, that looks just like the one I bought only it has a long velcro strap to roll it up when it's not in use. Mine was a little bit cheaper, $31.95 and then I got another $5.00 off. Shipping added another $10.
  3. Just received a sun shade for my 08 Edge. Purchased two others (Walmart and auto parts store) and they never did quite fit, to long, not tall enough..... Found this latest one on www.wooddashpros.com and it's an exact fit. When they say its made for a spacific vehicle they were right. It fits up against the inside of the windshield with no overlap or gaps anywhere. I didn't know one could fit so good. So, if your looking to get something to protect your dash and keep the car a little cooler, this is the sun shade you might want to consider. A heads up-it's not cheap but if you read the "site information" at this website under Discounts/Coupons, you can save $5.00 off the original price.
  4. Just had a Sherwood Dash Kit installed. Bought the kit off the internet for $192.90 with free shipping. Had it sent to a professional installer and they put it in this morning. Since the light woods looked to bright, I went with the Magestic Burl, which is very dark wood. The interior color is light and we thought the dark wood with the dark dash looked better. The installer charged me $80 and it took a little over an hour. Very nice job. If anyone is interested the internet site where I bought the kit was www.wooddashpros.com and I believe they are out of Arizona.
  5. Very nice ride. How ironic you took the photo in front of a bank???
  6. Saw one of those bumper protectors on the MKX and it looked very nice. It didn't have any logo on it that I could see, so maybe it was an aftermarket one that fits this vehicle. Looked a lot more substancial (tougher) than the one they advertise, which is very similar to the Edge protector.
  7. Sorry responded before I read the previous message. Funny place to put the rear window washer.
  8. Tippy-I might be mistaken but I believe that Ford advertises the Edge will get 19 City and 24 Highway. On a recent trip I averaged a little over 24 mpg and that was mostly highway driving. I checked my mileage again this morning and I'm still getting better than 23 and now it's more in town, although I do expect it to go down driving around town, but I'd even be happy with 19. I still say it's got a lot to do with the way one drives that determines the mileage we get.
  9. I also have been happy with the gas milage so far. Got almost 3000 miles on the new Edge and it's holding around 23 mpg. That's city and highway driving. I would think a lot to do with the mileage would be each persons particular driving style. Easy off the stop lights and no hard acceleration. Like I said holding at just over 23.
  10. I also have the camel interior and carpeting. The carpeting in that light color might have been a mistake. Just received a set of floor mats manufactured by Lloyds (in black) and the fit is exceptional. I was afraid they would be like the mats one might get at Walmart, one size fits all, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Looks like the manufacturer measured my Edge for the exact fit. Front and back are great.
  11. Just got back from a trip and when I left the Edge (FWD) only had around 400 miles on it. Ended up with an average of 24.1 mpg and that's mostly highway with a little city/county driving thrown in. Thought that was pretty good. Now I have almost 2,000 miles on it.
  12. Where do you all live, Death Valley? I just got back from a 10 day trip in mine and when I crank it up and put it on MAX it nearly freezes me out. Spent most of the time with the temp setting in about the middle of the blue zone.
  13. Michael-That's pretty close but mine is a lot smaller in diameter, rather than 7.5" it's about 4". If I'd have seen that one at Walmart when I was looking for something that's probably what I'd have bought. John
  14. Michael-Back in the day when draftsman really did drafting work, they used to have these leather weights to hold down drawings. They are about the size of a small hamburger and are filled probably with metal shot, so they are fairly heavy for their size. Anyway I had one of these and used it to mount the metal disk that came with my garmin to this leather weight. Then in turn mounted the suction cup for the garmin holder to that disk. I also have it located just in front of the shifter and the reception is very good. We have no sun roof but it works anyway. With an outlet right there, you can wrap up the wires and shove them in that opening under the a/c controls. Looks pretty good and what I really like is it's out of the way and out of site. John
  15. Well, it finally arrived yesterday, 11 weeks from the original order. I'd complain but it looks so nice that I just can't. The Ice Blue and the camel leather interior is a great combination. Got the 18" painted aluminum wheels and it came with the Michelin tires so it rides very smooth.
