  1. My previous vehicle was a loaded 2004 Lexus RX 330. If anyone in the San Antonio, Texas area is interested in a pristine and well-cared-for vehicle drop me a line!
  2. Here is a link to an excellent detailing site: http://www.detailedimage.com/Auto-Detailing-Guide/ that I use frequently. I concur that the spots are from your local water supply. I'm also a big proponent of "less aggressive" approaches to remove the spots. I would make friends with a local detailer and solicit some professional assistance. I love the Ruby Red color on my 2015 Edge Titanium and the first thing I did to protect the gorgeous paint was invest in Optimum Opti-coat pro/Gloss Coat (http://www.detailedimage.com/Auto-Detailing-Guide/Coatings/#overview). I also live in an area with hard water and the Gloss Coat does a great job protecting the paint from water spots and lots of other stuff. Good luck!
  3. Norm and others: I understand how annoying the rattle from the console area can be! I hope the information I am providing will help. The photo below was take on the passenger side of the Edge. The passenger seat was moved as far back as possible and fully reclined. The red arrow points to the spot where you can pry the plastic trim off the side of the console. PLEASE be careful! I used a screwdriver and gently popped the trim fastener out of the hole on the console. Once you get the pointed edge of the trim out you can easily (and gently!) pull the trim off. The blue arrows point to the edge of the trim piece where I inserted the door weather stripping. I attached the adhesive side to the console along the edge of the trim. You can see some of the weather stripping extending from the edge of the trim. Cut this off when you are done. You don't need to do the entire trim piece. I stopped about where the second blue arrow is located. When you replace the trim piece just pop the fasteners back into the holes in the console. You might have to push a little...that's good! It means the weather stripping is tight against the edge of the trim.
  4. Kevin: You might check my post on the "Rattle drive me crazy" topic that Frank mentioned. I originally thought the rattle and squeak was coming from the cup holder area but it turned out the be the plastic trim strip at the top of the center console on the passenger side. When you press down on the cup holder area you may be impacting the trim. Good luck! Be well...
  5. You don't have to remove the entire trim strip which runs along the side of the console. From the back I removed about 6 inches of trim and installed the weatherstripping which did the trick.
  6. I had a rattle that was difficult to locate in the same general area you described. It turned out to be the plastic trim on the top edge of the center console (passenger side). If you want to check and see if this is the issue you can press on the trim when you are driving and see if the noise changes or is gone. Once you verify the trim is the problem, move the passenger seat all the way back and recline fully you can see the curved edge of the trim just below the top of the center console (towards the back). The trim is attached to the console with plastic tabs and it's pretty easy to remove is by pulling gently from the back (be careful!). I placed some door weatherstripping (foam with a sticky backing) on the console along the lower edge where the trim is located and reattached the trim. You may have to push a little harder to get the trim to click into the tab which is good because that means the weatherstripping is cushioning the plastic trim. This fix completely eliminated the rattle and squeak! My next task is to attack the rattle coming from the plastic covers on the rear seat belts. If anyone has a fix I appreciate the info! Be well...
  7. Apparently I'm addicted to the iOttie Easy One Touch XL Car Mount! Somehow I ended up with 3 of them and I only have two cars. Actually the third one is for rentals. The iOttie is meant for large format phones (I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with an Otterbox cover) and it is very stable and almost infinitely adjustable. I mount mine on the lower left side of the windshield (just above the inspection sticker). It works best if you can set up the phone so the lower right side rests on the top of the dashboard (just barely). It reduces jiggle which, in this case, is a good thing! You can get one on Amazon.
