  1. It is almost over! My dealer has done a dealer trade to get me a new Edge and Ford is finally approving a deal for me to get out of my Leaky Edge that has been at the dealer for the past 93 days. I pick up my new Edge on Monday and will finally have this thing settled. We really like the Edge and are happy to try another one, now that they have learned how to build them. I do hope that Ford will pay more attention to customer service in the future though.
  2. My gong show is almost over. Dealer is doing a dealer trade to bring in an Edge Titanium, exactly the same as the one I started out with in May (minus the leaks) We have re-done my deal and the new car should be ready Monday. Build date is well after the magic April 28th, so it should be OK. I am really unhappy with Ford though. They should have approved this at least 2 months ago. They could have saved themselves a lot of $$ they paid for the rental. The thing is, the Edge is such a great car, with good performance and so comfortable that we decided to try another one. Wish us luck!!!
  3. I have been in constant touch with my dealer and so far, Ford Customer Service and the regional rep have been all promises and no action. I'm now at 87 days and counting!
  4. Congrats: Glad you have finally been settled. I'm still getting promises, but no action. Dealer blames Ford. 85 days and counting. They call this customer service! Are you getting another Edge? Love the vehicle but I'm scared of having to go through something like this again.
  5. Just an update on my story. Vehicle is still sitting at the dealer, 73 days now. On August 27th I was told, by Ford that they will be taking my vehicle back and settling with me in the near future. Hopefully they will follow through soon. My dealer principal has been very helpful in getting things this far.
  6. Amazing how Ford can keep production going, but can't get parts to the dealers to fix the leaky Edges they have already sold. Still waiting. Car has 1,400 kms on it and has been at the dealers for 56 days. Still no satisfaction. When I bought this Edge, my first Ford, I thought I could depend on Ford to stand behind their product, like the other manufacturers do.
  7. I am in Canada, where we don't have a lemon law with any teeth. Bought my Edge Titanium in May, had it for 2 weeks, discovered water, wet drivers' side. Made an apt. at dealer. Met with dealer principal, discussed 15B21. Car left at dealership on June 22nd. 44 days later, car is still sitting at dealership with part of the interior removed and all of the plastic bits and pieces piled n the cargo area. I have never had any information from Ford as to what is going on and the dealership says everything is on hold, waiting for instruction from Ford. This is far from any kind of good service. Ford did provide an Enterprise rental, but I am paying lease payments on a loaded Titanium and what I am driving would have a lease payment about $100 less per month. This is my first Ford and it certainly isn't starting off very well. Since 1981 I have had 13 new GM products and never had anything like this happen. Any problems were solved within a reasonable time period. I would like to know if any Canadians have received their repaired leaky Edges back yet, or had the situation settled..
  8. I am now at 43 days and counting and still no timeline for a repair. After seeing the parts and pieces piled in the back of the Edge, I am wondering how satisfactory the repair will be. Hopefully it won't be fill of squeaks or rattles. While I am driving an Edge Titanium from Enterprise, it is a basic Titanium, not a loaded one like mine. I figure I am paying about $100 a month more than I would be if I had originally leased the one I am currently driving. I am still wondering if anyone in Canada has received their leaky Edge back. This is my first new Ford product. I have driven new GM products since 1981. Never have had a problem that couldn't be fixed in a reasonable period of time. So my nightmare continues...43 days and counting.
  9. If your Edge was built 2 weeks ago, it must mean Ford is obtaining and using insulation, carpets and other necessary pieces and parts to build new trucks instead of providing them to the dealers to fix the vehicles they have already sold. Great customer relations!
  10. I am getting tired of this whole thing and would have been better off to keep my previous vehicle (not a Ford). I have not had any updates or contacts from Ford. The last update from the dealer was a few weeks ago when I saw the car sitting outside and thought it must be ready to go. I went in to check. My mistake, no interior in it. Dealer, at that time said they were waiting for instruction from Ford. So far, since obtaining the vehicle May 25th, I had it for 25 days and the dealer has had it for 33 days and counting. I thought about going through CAMVAP but was informed that the decision is binding and some of the funding for the program is provided by the manufacturers. Perhaps our friend in Calgary can let us know how CAMVAP is working for him. Have any of the Canadians that have the A pillar leaking problem received their fixed vehicles back yet, or had a satisfactory settlement with Ford?
  11. I have checked and we don't seem to have a lemon law, in Canada, like they do in the USA. What I did find is something called CAMVAP. This is supposed to be a deal where both the owner and the manufacturer present their case to an arbitrator who decides what the settlement, if any, should be. Was just wondering if any of the Canadian Edge owners have tried anything through this CAMVAP system. I think some or all of the funding maybe provided by the manufacturers which may not be good.
  12. Told my story in previous blogs, so here is my latest update. Service department was keeping me informed until the 24th of June. Told them I was going away until the night of the 28th with the loaner. No call from the dealer on Monday, the 29th, but when I was passing the dealer Monday evening I saw my Edge sitting on the lot where completed vehicles are parked. Called the service department on Tuesday am. the 1st of July. Was told they would check it out and get back to me. No call. Today, July 2nd, I went to the dealership to get an answer. Bottom line is the car is sitting with no seats, carpet etc. They say they are waiting for instructions from Ford as to what should be done next. New carpets & insulation or reinstall the ones they removed and dried out. Told them I will not put up with any odors from this ordeal. They told me to keep driving the Edge they rented for me, and they will let me know as soon as they hear something from Ford. Will post more when I know something!
  13. As I stated earlier in the blogs, I discovered the wet floor after a couple of weeks of ownership.I found this Edge water leak blog site and then went directly to the dealer principal at my dealership with my copy of the 15B21 in my hand! He was aware of the situation, told me about having the stop sale, also had the 15B21 info on his desk. Took my Edge in Monday the 22nd. They call me with updates and still have the vehicle. Had no problem to have them provide me with a vehicle. The loaner turned out to be an Edge Titanium, the same color as mine! They have assured me that I will be satisfied when I get my own vehicle back. We'll see! In the meantime, I put the mileage on someone else's vehicle!
  14. Good news, I think! Had a meeting this afternoon with the dealer principal. Showed him some information I had from the net re; the leaks and he was aware of the problem. My apt. to take my Edge in is Mon am. They have arranged a rental for me and have guaranteed the insulation under the carpet and carpet, if necessary, will be properly cleaned or replaced if cleaning is not deemed suitable to get rid of any odor. Hopefully, the fix will work!
  15. Got my new 2015 Ford Edge Titanium May 26th. Found out there is a serious leak that has soaked the driver's side carpeting and insulation. Have vacuumed the water out on a couple of occasions . Called my dealer and have a service apt., soonest available, Monday the 22nd of June. My questions are: Am I entitled to a rental vehicle and will Ford replace the carpet and insulation? There is nothing worse than the smell of previously soaked carpet, mold and mildew. Is Ford of Canada handling the problem the same as Ford in the US?
