Awesome advice fellas. Thanks a bunch.

Hi Edgers, I have a 2011 Sport in black and I need a new/used passenger sideview mirror. Wife likes to give high fives with it to parked cars. All the mirror electronics still work (pan/tilt/blind spot sensor light). The glass is broken and the "guts" of the spring mechanism are destroyed. Using black tape to keep it semi attached to the car. Looking for affordable replacement parts and trying not to spend $400. Thanks

When I first started looking I found a few on Etsy. Here's my most recent search. http://www.ebay.com/sch/Emblems/33643/i.html?Brand=Ford&_dcat=33643&Primary%2520Color=Black&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m1684 I'm going to black wrap the chrome strip then look at some new emblems. Let me know how you go about it. I would't paint it though. Good luck,

I'd love to sell to a forum member and skip paying ebay fees. All the details and pix in the link below. Check them out. L I got these wheels and tires on a used car. The wheels are in very, very good shape and three tires have less that 100 miles on them. The 4th tire has zero miles. See the pics. Pricing this out new via tirerack it comes out to $2,223 I'm pricing these to move with FREE shipping in CONUS only. I will use NEX SHIP for shipping base on that website. Make a bid. These wheels and tires are freakin' sweet! http://www.ebay.com/itm/281793058584?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649

That door pocket is comically narrow. Reminds me of this scene from Flash Gordon. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5Dt1AeolGWs

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

Got a how-to I can follow? I NEED to do this, and yours looks outstanding. My chrome is bugging the hell outta me. Just not sure how to pull the chrome off. L -
Thanks guys

My 2011 had a bad front right wheel bearing before I bought it. The salesman at the dealership try to tell me the sound was asphalt shooting up into the wheel well. I made him look at it and fix it before I would buy it. Good to know it happens to the vehicles.

Thought I'd share/ask some of my experiences so far. PROS: I LOVE the bump on the handle that unlocks, and news to me after 25 days, locks too! The power feels very linear, with no real lag anywhere in the RPM range. Had a turbo VW and was used to a gap in power response. The vista roof is beautiful, but as the driver 99% of the time, I rarely "see" it. Sooooo smooth on the highway feels like a pricy european ride. A very refined driving experience. Remote start is a really nice option. Fits all my photo gear (~6 pelican cases) and the seats can stay up for the dag. Hardwiring the Valentine1 was easy. I feel like it's still worth the original MSRP of $40k+ Suspension is stiff. Fun in paved, smooth corners. CONS: Suspension is stiff. Not fun in parking lots with speed bumps, potholes and tight corners. I have a bad back and this scenario killed me yesterday. The first mm of gas pedal pressure is a bit touchy. I feel like I need a bit more range in the very begging. Getting around 17mpg in city driving, but I drive it like I stole it most days. The vista roof trim on the right side detached from the front connection point and slipped way back into the roof track. I figured it out, but it prevented the roof from fully closing until I MacGyvered the trim back into place. The front end and driver mirror/A pillar are VERY difficult to see around. Making a left turn requires a lot of attention and neck craning to ensure there isn't a curb, or small family in your turn radius. The never ending console and door pockets. Nearly unusable, as both are so deep there is zero chance of organization. Prior owner seems to have used fingerpainting skills to do touch up work. It's a travesty. NAV is garbage. I mean, when it works (50/50) it's OK, but it takes a backseat to Waze/Gmaps. Question though. When locking the car with the fob, one press locks it, two presses locks and honks. Besides the horn sound, what's the difference? L I'm sure there are more things I'm forgetting.

Thanks Jstall

That would be hilarious

Thanks for the info Franco. I may just get them painted by a pro. I like the badgeless look for cleanliness and the uncertainty it generates. There are not a lot of Sports in the Denver area but there are ton of other Edges. I like to pass people and watch their face screw up as they say, "what the hell kinda Ford is that?" I did it to my VW GTI too. Also makes the wax job easier.

Zaatour, I haven't bought the new emblems yet. I'll share pix when I do.

These look great. Thanks for sharing

That looks great franco. So I guess I can just vinyl wrap it, regardless of what they call it. Did you have to remove the trim to wrap it? L

Used the tried and true hair dryer/fishing line. Took 30 minutes. Next up, black ford logos x3. The gel ones seem much higher quality than the overlays. Looking at these. Just need the steering wheel one. https://www.etsy.com/listing/174341491/custom-ford-emblem-black-with-chrome?ref=related-3 What is the chrome strip that separates the hood and grille called? I want to make it black, but don't know what to call it when searching the forums. Thanks, L

Starting to look like eBay +$200 shipping... Local Ford groups are only Model Ts and old Mustangs. I guess if the Model T guys wanna get some smaller wheels these would work. L

Hi Edgers, I got new and more affordable 18's for my Sport. Trying to sell the "old" ones (<100miles on the 22"wheels and tires) on craigslist but getting no love for 5 days so far. Is a local Ford forum a better place to try, or is there somewhere you've had luck? I'm assuming local is better as shipping can't be cheap. Here's the CL link for background. http://denver.craigslist.org/pts/5159881827.html Thanks for the time, L

Thanks Russ, Went with grey instead of black 18" Yokohamas. Friends with black wheels say they are great, when clean. Otherwise, they show all the dirt, all the time. Need to clean her up and share some pix.

Hey Edgers, I'm selling my aftermarket 22s with brand new Pirelli Scorpion asymmetrics. Looking at 18" black or grey wheels and wanted your feedback before making the purchase. Is there any reason NOT to get black wheels? Grey looks good too, but black with the car being black look better. I'm mainly concerned about cleaning, maintenance and wife curbage. Are grey easier to clean and care for than the black ones? (I didn't post this to the classified section since I'm not willing to ship) Thanks, L

Yeah. I haven't seen any in the wheels and tire forum.

bump!

I think these will fit on our 2011 Sport. Do you gurus agree? http://www.autorimshop.com/ford-explorer-2014-17-wheel-rim-3858.html?gclid=CjwKEAjwocKtBRCf9d_Q5ovcyHASJAAHhJYOY9T3SlhlaW7AhkxxjDnWy-LSrIL8VmQxBAp7LpVU6RoCYKDw_wcB
