  1. Dealer called. They ordered a new PTU for it.
  2. My 2013 just hit 42k miles and I dropped it off at the dealer this morning for a PTU leaking oil. It marks its spot everytime we park somewhere now. I had a drivers side seal replaced at about 34k miles, this time it's leaking on the passenger side, and it's very dark, thick looking oil.

    Wheel bearing?

Mine ended up being tires. Junky Pirilli's!
  4. Update: Instead of going through the hassle of setting up a dealership visit for something simple as this, I decided to give the calibration a try myself. No offense to dealerships, but honestly, I trust myself over most of my local dealerships. Anyways, I went though the on screen instructions, straightforward as you could get. Recalibrated my touchscreen, and it works perfectly now! Thanks for the information omar302!
  5. Okay, I was getting some freezing, maint. screens along with some errors with MFT/Sync screen with navigation. Took it to dealer, they updated with the latest software and sent me on my way. Now, I'm having an odd issue. Before the update I could enter in an address quickly and never had a minutes trouble. Now, honestly I sat beside the road for 15 minutes to be able to correctly type in the address. Specifically, it's the upper right hand of the screen being worse than any other part of the screen. When I touch "Navigation" to get to the screen to enter the address, etc. it things that I'm touching the map and places crosshairs on the map and wants me to set as waypoint/destination/etc. I'll hit the home button, and try again. And finally if I take a small object (like a stylus pen) I can get it to go to the address screen where I can type if I touch the very very top of the screen in the right corner. It's very aggravating. It acts like it is way out of calibration or something. Is there any way I can calibrate the screen myself, or do I need to take it back to another dealer and have them look at the screen?
  6. I have a 2013 Ford Edge Sport and I'm interested in performance mods. Intake/High-Flow Cats or Off-Road/Cat Back Exhaust/Big Brakes/Lowering Springs/Tuning (to improve the sloppy stock shifting, etc.) I'm in Eastern KY and wouldn't mind giving my vehicle up for testing, but I'm forever far away. We can work something out though if it gets serious, drive up and stay for a weekend or something, haha! I would love to have more choices for cat-back exhaust systems. The Magnaflow honestly doesn't sound much better over stock and for $800 doesn't seem like it is worth it! I know these 3.7L N/A engines can sound amazing (much like in the Infinities) when properly setup. However, I would say the Magnaflow system with cat-less mid-pipes would sound great!
  7. I personally have not seen how either setup is made, but I got to thinking since I have seen a few take-off sets from Brembo equipped Mustangs on other forums at a much reasonable price. I wonder if the mounting of caliper is similar on the Edge to the Mustang. If it is, couldn't Edge owners buy bigger Mustang rotors/calipers and upgrade with minimal modification?? What do you all think?
  8. Wheel bearing issue maybe? Mine is going in with the same problem. At high speeds, does it howl/growl instead of thump? At say 10-15mph you can hear a thump (very slight) but at hwy speeds mine turns into a growl. Pretty sure it's a wheel bearing issue, there is a TSB out there on this issue I believe.
  9. I wish I could trade my factory exhaust for that Magnaflow!!!
  10. Good deal, I live about 4 hours south of Chillicothe, but am planning a trip to visit some friends there in the fall, then running on up to the Amsoil warehouse in Columbus, OH to pick up an order to save some shipping (I'm an Amsoil dealer). If these haven't sold by then, I may get up with you and pick these up. It would be nice to have an extra set for winter driving. I'm looking at these, or the 20" Ford Explorer Sport rims for winter driving. Just depends if my wife wants to order a Magnaflow exhaust first or not, haha!
  11. I have a friend that lives in Chillicothe, OH (Spelling?). How far are you from there?

    Wheel bearing?

Has anyone had a bad wheel bearing go down with 30k miles?? We bought our 2013 Ford Edge Sport with 23k miles a few months ago. LOVE it, but we drove it to the beach and back and we've noticed several issues arise over the trip it seems like, it now has 30k miles on it. There is a distinct howl/growl coming from the front end, it's the loudest at 40-45mph. Very noticeable at 70mph interstate driving (sounds like severe road noise). Anyone else had this issue? Thought it may be the stock 22" Pirrelli's (they are junk tires, IMO) but after rotating, the noise has not changed. It also pulls fairly hard to the right as well. Also, the sync system has had a critical error message and shut down the other day, and also on my last oil change, I noticed quite a bit of oil residue around the PTU seal. I called a friend that works for Ford and he is scheduling it for a closer look before the 36k mile warranty is up. Just wonder if anyone has had sync issues, wheel bearing, and PTU leak at 30k miles? I hope this isn't a sign to come. If the PTU has to be taken out, I'd love to be able to install a fill/drain plug in it somehow like the thread on here, but I know that wont happen at a Ford dealer.
  13. Yesterday, my wife and I got in her 2013 Ford Edge Sport (28k miles) and immediately upon startup, the screen went black then what looked like an old school (Window's 95 type stuff, haha) error box popped up and it said "Windows has encountered a critical error and is shutting down", then the screen turned off. Naturally, my wife and I looked at each other like deer in headlights and just waited for the screen to turn back on or do something. After about a minute, I turned the car off. Waited about a minute, then started the car again. Same result, a black screen. Then after about 30 seconds, the radio turned on, and a SYNC screen came up and said.. "Performing scheduled updates" or something like that. We watched as it rebooted, and once it was complete the screen and all functions came back to life. Is this normal? Should I be alarmed, and let the dealer take a look at it? I know they will say "cannot duplicate problem" back when I had other vehicles in for issues over the years. It's getting close to the factory warranty being up and I'm sure that's expensive to replace! haha
  14. I may look into this on my edge sport this weekend and see what all would be required to do the job. I definitely don't want to get a saw out and start cutting, haha.
  15. So far on my 2013 Edge Sport I have installed HID's and removed the front license plate frame. I am wanting to install an intake and Magnaflow exhaust hopefully sometime soon.
