See my response to another thread. Hose or conduit coming up from under car sounds like it comes from behind center console.

I posted in another thread about a nose coming from the center console that sounded like a loose washer rattling around in the wind. It did not do it at slow speeds and it was quite loud at interstate speed of 70 mph. The dealer could not duplicate it and it was not vibration related. rattle/ticking noise After much back and for the and trying to find it myself, I brought it back to the dealer for one last shot. The service writer heard it but then it would not do it when the tech was in the car. I am happy to report that this one service guy was dedicated enough to work with the tech and after 29k miles they appear to have solved it. Apparently, there is some type of hose or conduit that comes up from the bottom of the car to somewhere behind the console. When shaken back and forth like in the wind at high speed, it makes a rattle/ticking noise that sounds like it is coming from behind the center console. SO far, problem solved.

Any updates on this topic? I have a crackling noise that seems to come from the center console or the left side behind the ignition. It happens mostly at high speed and is very annoying. The dealer is useless in determining the cause. Thanks
