  1. I use them when I'm "playing". In general they are just a fun option if you want to hold a gear through a corner. If you shift the transmission in to "Sport" without using the paddles it will still shift on its own (stay automatic) but it will hold the gear a little longer, down shift sooner (at a higher rpm), and Max shift point will be a little higher. If you use the paddles it will hold the gear till you hit redline, then it will shift up. But the trans will also hold the gear way low and not down shift. I don't know how to get it out of the "manual mode" without shifting back into drive. If you use the paddles while it is in drive it will shift the gears. But if you don't use the paddles for a short bit it will go back to normal auto.
  2. Copy cat ..... Mostly, you have the 21" inch wheels. I actually like the upgraded wheels on the Limited. Nice ride BTW. I put 600mi on mine in the first week. I've already harassed a newer Ram 1500 with a Hemi and a '14 Durango R/T with a Hemi. The Durango tried to run from me (kind of a tailgate race) but never added any distance. I actually closed the gap a little and He was by himself. I had 4 people in the car.
  3. I almost bought an Explorer sport because of the tunes they have for that. But I have a 2005 Excursion with a warmed up 6.0 PS and don't need another 3 row vehicle. I'm going to give the Edge a few thousand miles before I look at a tuner. The other issue I have is how it will affect the warranty. Before I left the dealer they had me sign on and make an account for My Sync and set up my phone. I didn't thing of it at the time and my be paranoid but I wonder if they can monitor everything I do to the car through that link. If so I will be disabling it on my phone.
  4. This is what I gave up . Kind of miss it actually
  5. 2015 Edge Sport. I've got 200 mi on it. I traded in a 2012 Charger RT Max. The things I like about the Edge over the Charger is the AWD first. I live in the NW and when it rained I could not put down the power in the Charger. Tires would start to spin then the traction and stability nannies would kick in and pull the power. The acceleration to 60 is on par with the Charger, maybe a tick slower. The Edge is rides and drive smoother then the Charger and is more quiet. The Sony premium audio also blows away the Beats I had in the Charger. There is more room in the Edge, mainly in the back seat. My Sync is ok but I think I liked the simplicity of the Dodge unit just a wee bit better. My phone dose connect to My sync quicker when the car is turned on. This is where I tell you what I miss about the Charger. The seats were better. The lumbar on both driver and passenger seats in the Charger would adjust up and down as well as the normal inflate function. The pedals adjusted in the Charger, they don't in the Edge, The rear view mirrors could be set up to tilt down in reverse in the Charger, not so in the Edge. The Charger had a heated steering wheel, the Edge dose not. Driving impressions: In lightly spirited driving they are about the same. The Edge dose a good job of masking it's SUV/crossover heritage. But if you start to get aggressive the extra height in the Edge becomes apparent. Passing power.... Charger hands down. I was on a road trip going across Utah, stuck behind a truck doing 60 followed by a 350z and Honda Pilot that would not pass. No traffic in sight, road straight as a string. I moved over and mashed the gas. With 4 people in the car, it was brushing 120 by the time I cleared the semi. I don't know about the new 8spd gear box in the Hemi's but the 5spd took care of business. These are my initial impressions base on having the car one week and only driving to and from work. I will take it out this weekend and put the canes to it.

    Leg Pain

Here are my impressions of the seats in my 2015 Edge sport. They are NOT as comfortable as the seats were in my 2012 Charger R/T. The main reason is the side reinforcements on the seat bottoms. They hit me in the hips right around the sciatic nerve. I'm hoping that they will "break in" a bit and relax. I'm still enjoying the car. It's much more usable in the rain up here in Portland OR. I could not use the power in the Charger because I would look at the gas, tires would spin, and the electronic power nannies would kick in. I've turned off the traction control in the Edge and stomped on the gas just to see what would happen. No drama just shot off the line with no wheel spin.
  7. I've had mine two days. I moved from a 2012 Charger R/T Max to a 2015 Edge Sport. The 2.7 is Quick, it's on par or only a tic or two shy of the Charger. The difference is it is SMOOTHER, less drama. If you stood on the gas of the Charger just a bit too much the techno nannies would kick in and pull throttle out. Very annoying when you are trying to pull out into traffic. The Edge is deceptive. First time I took it on the freeway I was behind another car merging, thinking to myself, let's go man! Made my way to the fast lane only to find another car "poking" along. That guy moved over and I looked down to see my speed before getting on it and found myself doing 80! I'm hoping the tuners can "unlock" the 2.7 with success like the 3.5.
  8. I just picked up a new 2015 Edge sport with all the fix'ins this Saturday. I traded in a 2012 Dodge Charger R/T Max 2wd. I'm pretty happy with the car but I'm wondering if I should have waited for the '16s. I got 7k off MSRP on this one so It was a good deal.... if the 2016 isn't significantly better. I'm missing a few feachers that the Charger had though. Lumbar in the Charger was adjustable up and down as well as inflating. The pedals were adjustable and they would save in the memory settings. The outside mirrors could be set up to tilt down in reverse. Last and most important the Charger had a heated steering wheel that would turn on with remote start if temps were below 40deg. These are all minor issues. The heated wheel is the only real thing I will miss. Bonus' to the Edge are the AWD of course. The Edge is MUCH quieter and smoother riding. The suspension feels a little stiffer but seems to soak up the bumps better. It feels like it gets to 60 just as fast as the Charger with out the drama of traction nannies kicking in. It was real annoying when you would give it just a little too much gas in the rain pulling out into traffic and the computer would cut power. I the in interior is roomier and nicer. My Touch is more intimidating but manageable when you get to know it. The Dodge system with the 8.3 screen and intuitive controls is a real segment leader. Over all the the Edge feels more solid and a quality upgrade. I could do without the gianormus sun roof though.
