  1. Taken from the download page: EA5T-14D544-BA ABOUT THE LATEST UPDATE The new software update for SYNC® with MyFord Touch® systems includes all the improvements from previous updates, plus additional changes to accommodate new and updated customer devices, such as: Hazard switch illuminates on Focus / Escape with ignition off and park lamps on Next Track / Previous Track controls from SYNC touchscreen SYNC Maintaining Repeat / Shuffle settings that were set on the device side Compatibility updates for the latest phone and media devices The installation of this update will take up to 30 minutes to complete. Be sure to keep your engine running (not in accessory mode) throughout the entire installation process. Turning off your vehicle during the update installation will disrupt the process. Although your vehicle must be in park when you begin the installation process, you may drive your vehicle while the update is downloading to your SYNC® system. If your vehicle is equipped with the Intelligent Access with Push Button Start feature, you will need to temporarily disable the Automatic Engine Idle Shutdown (AEIS) component before beginning the installation in order to prevent your vehicle from timing out and shutting off the engine before the software update is complete. To disable this feature, use your steering wheel controls to navigate to the Settings menu on your left-hand Instrument Cluster LCD display. From there, select Vehicle >Auto Engine Off >Off. (If you do not see this setting, there is no need to make any changes before starting the update.) Alternatively, after initiating the installation, you may drive the vehicle during the update process to avoid shutting off the engine. The next time you start your vehicle, the AEIS will automatically reset to "On." Please note: During the update installation, SYNC® will temporarily appear to not recognize your mobile phone or media device. This is normal. Once your system has been successfully updated, SYNC® will display a notification stating "Installation complete."
  2. Use FAT32 only. There are multiple progress bars with 2 or 3 reboots.
  3. Just a note that Ford has finally made available to customers a direct download to the official Ford Sync 2 MyFord Touch software update at http://owner.ford.com. No need to download the functionnal but tweaked russian version anymore! I had the v3.8 version and I updated without any problems. It took about 22 minutes to do. Please note that when the installation finished, a report is stating the the 3.7 version have been succesfully installed. This is a typo, looking in the setting menu, it's really the 3.10 version. I didn't had time to test the newer version yet so I can't tell much about it.
  4. Anyone tried the PIAA Hyper Arros HB3 (9005)? Voltage: 12v Wattage: 60w Kelvin: 3900k https://www.powerbulbs.com/ca/product/piaa-hyper-arros-hb3
  5. I have Philips X-Treme vision +130 on my motorcycle (low and high beam) and they are very, very nice indeed! About the Ford Edge, if I may jump it, I'm a bit puzzled about socket/bulbs sizes. According to my owner's manual (2011 Limited), the correct fitting size is HIR2. Looking on the web, they are many references to 9012 (I guess it's another way to designated HIR2). I've started looking for HIR2/9012 bulbs on various sites but it's seems to be OEM replacements for the most part, not more "powerful" bulbs. I'm sure I'm missing something here! For instance, the Philips X-tremeVision seems to only come in H1, H4 and H7 sizes!?
  6. I don't remember the brand of mine (they were already installed in the used 2011 Edge that I bought) but I've noticed since a couple of weeks one of the license plate leb bulb was flickering/failing. First thing I've done is to exchange the left/right bulbs to check if it's not the socket. It wasn't the case. What I've actually found is I'm putting pressure on the LEDs themselves, they are lighting up again. It seems that over time, they are desoldering.
  7. Very true. It is probably still in there. I will let winter (and the freezing cold here in Canada!) pass and I will check for it at the beginning of the spring season!
  8. Thanks! It was exactly what I was thinking (but didn't find picture of!). Since the keypad is working perfectly, I went the easy way and just put Marine silicone (that I already had anyway) to stick the keypad to the opening. So far it seem to be holding!
  9. While removing the first layer of snow of the year on my Ford Edge, I've noticed that my keypad was strangely loose. Looking more closely it seems that left side metal clip is gone. Might have fell in the door (or might have been broken and somewhat glued before I buyed the Edge from the previous owner). I would prefer to not buy another keypad since this one is working perfectly fine, so my question is how can I fix that? I am right to assume that the missing left part if the same as the right (some plastic holder with a metal clip)? I guess I could always use Marine Silicone to "glue" the keypad back (and have a good seal)?
  10. I own a Ford Edge now because my 2001 Focus ZX3 engine unexpectedly died. After inspection, a mice or squirrel made a nest in the air filter area, and might have gotten into the engine and died in there! (at least with a camera they saw debris of nuts, peanuts and excrement). Don't underestimate them!
  11. I've also noticed that sometimes, my on screen position is "offset" by a few meters. On very rare occasion, it's even a few kilometers, like the GPS pinpointed a completely different position! I'll try switching view next time this happen to see if it change something!
  12. Keeping my keys attached to my Ford Edge's Key fob, I was tired to trigger the panic button once in a while. I didn't want to disable the panic button itself, so. It's not 100% proof, yet it seems to be quite effective so far. Step 1: Take a small paperclip like this and remove one of the stainless steel pin. Step 2: Open your key fob for a better access and drill two small holes on each side (You can see one hole in the picture). Step 3: Reassemble you key fob, insert the stainless pin's small edges into the holes of the key fob, and voilà, a quick, cheap way to prevent the problem from occuring again!
  13. It's a good price. Auction? From what seller if I may ask? With our poor Canadian Dollar Value, it's quite hard to find a good deal on those cards!
  14. It's possible. I only own my 2011 Edge Limited since a couple of days and it's the first update I've done to SYNC so far (can't remember what was the version before installation). I was puzzled when the 3.8 installation finished and saw the 3.7 version in the message. I actually took a picture of it at the end! (it's in french, sorry!)
  15. Thanks! I guess I can then confirm that the final installation message from Ford 3.8 SYNC update (the french version at least) as an error in it, as it stated that the "3.7" version has been successfully installed, instead of saying "3.8".
