  1. I finally found out how to solve this issue. When I start the car, I press Max AC, then switch to defrost/floor heat. The moisture is pulled out of the car and the windows are clear. If I forget, I see the fog start, press max ac, go back to defrost and the windows immediately clear. Clearly in my vehicle, the AC compressor doesnt run in defrost with AC light on, but if I blow it into my face on Max AC first, the compressor continues to run.
  2. I have my 2014 Edge in today for the second visit for the same issue. I tried another dealer (close to my house) after my regular dealer (family friend) told me they couldn't replicate the problem. They found the drain hose from the evaporator core was clogged. Hopefully this clears up my issue. If not, has anybody found a good solution? I have had the windshield fog over multiple times while driving at highway speeds. With a newborn in the car, I think I will have to bite the bullet and trade it in if this continues. This time it cost me $100 because I passed my 36,000 miles and am into my 48,000 mile CPO warranty.
  3. I pulled the panel to the side, cut the hot wire on the power point, then spliced it into the wiring circuit. There are two wires going to that power point. I think a black and grey. If yours is black and grey, black is probably the hot power lead. I made sure to put the 10 amp fuse just beyond the splice. It was tight working quarters, but I do think it will be a better solution than running all the way to the battery. I am not an electrician, so of course, I don't take any responsibility if your work causes issues. Mine seems to work well.
  4. Also, my 2014 with the 3.5 in it is rated for 2000 pounds towing, 200 pounds tongue weight. This class II is rated for 3500/350. I generally like Class III hitches, but in this application, the Class II is cleaner and still has more capacity than the vehicle.
  5. I just put the Curt 12036 on my 2014 last week Wednesday. The install is challenging because of the car, not because of the hitch. While Amazon says this is a Class 1 hitch, Curt says it is Class II. I really like the look of round bars more than the look of the other choices that all had square bars. Here are the products I purchased for the install. The hitch took about an hour and 15 to install. The wiring took under an hour. I tapped into the power lead from the rear power point. This is fused to 20 amps. The fuse in the kit is 10 amps, so I put that fuse in between the power point and the converter box. In theory, the fuse to the converter should blow before the rear power point blows. I did buy the 17/32 drill bit for the installation. If you don't have one, it makes fishing the bolts easier than using a 1/2" because there is clearance for the fish wires. The challenges you will have are dropping the exhaust and fishing the bolts. Dropping the exhaust is simply a muscle fight with a pry bar to remove the rubber mounts. It goes back together very easily. Fishing the bolts will be a challenge because clearance is tight. Patience will help here. I did my job with the back of the vehicle on oil change ramps. That left my jack stands free to hold the hitch near the frame while I dealt with the bolts. http://smile.amazon.com/CURT-12036-Class-Trailer-Hitch/dp/B004C6TXOW?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 http://smile.amazon.com/Curt-Manufacturing-56120-CURT-T-Connector/dp/B004C6TXMY?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 http://smile.amazon.com/TG-Tools-A3985-Demming-Storage/dp/B00ET0YU4Y/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1462113105&sr=8-4&keywords=17+32+drill+bit Good Luck!
  6. I got the 3.5. I like the new one, but at double the price, the 2014 was the smart buy. The hitch and wiring arrive tomorrow. I'll post pics when I install the hitch.
  7. Tonight I picked up my 2014 Edge SE with Sync. I am looking forward to customizing it. My plans include adding a hitch, finding a good backup camera setup, adding Sirius, and figuring out a better method to get to the storage area around the spare tire. I am sure I will find good info and advice here.
