  1. Dropped the mirrors off at the body shop this afternoon. Should get them back tomorrow night. I'll post some update pics this weekend.
  2. Those codes sound wild. Did you try to set it back to stock and clear the codes? Everything look ok under the hood?
  3. How's your transaxle holding up man? I assume you have a FWD? That thing is a beast!!!!
  4. Were these dyno tunes or custom written email tunes? I saw in one of your other posts that you were planning to have LMS dyno tune it for you since they were close to you.
  5. I don't have a tune on my MKX yet but I've encountered this on my Powerstroke many times. Every time you change tunes, your TCM has to go through its relearn process. The relearn usually can take around 50-100 miles or more I believe. During the relearn period, you typically want to drive "normal" until the corrected shift strategy has settled in. So I'm not sure if you've given the tune enough time to relearn it's strategy or not but it's something to keep in mind every time you change tunes. Things may seem weird initially but after a couple hundred miles, it all magically seems to come together in my experience. I would still contact LMS and see what they have to say about it.
  6. I haven't driven with them on yet. The passenger side mirror should arrive on Wednesday and then I'm taking the caps in to get painted. I'm hoping I'll have them on the car permanently next week. Thanks! Yeah, the whole experiment started because of three ideas in my head: 1) I like the way the shape of new style mirrors look a little better than the early style like my MKX had. 2) I rented a Taurus on a trip out west in early June and really liked the blind spot mirrors once I got used to them. 3) I love the way the MKX looks however, the large chrome caps on the larger old style mirrors aren't exactly my taste. My plan is to ultimately "de-chrome" the car a little bit. I originally figured I'd get paint to match mirrors regardless of which model of mirror I went with. Anyway, I'm glad the new style is plug and play. I made sure I got the mirrors with the exact same options I already had (except the blind spot mirrors which require no power). I will post some better before and after pics once the new ones are ready to go on.
  7. Did some more looking around today and found the answer to my question. The accelerator pedal sensor connections are different between models. The older style pedal like my 09 has a 8(7) pin connector: The newer 2011+ pedal has a 6 pin: So... My plan won't work unfortunately. I'll probably just have to find some good looking pedal covers somewhere now I guess.
  8. I like the looks of the newer Edge Sport pedals and was wanting to know what the differences are between my 09 MKX accelerator pedal and the 11 and up accelerator pedals if there are any. The mounting points all look the same as well as the general shape. I'm concerned about whether the connections are plug and play or not. Does anyone know whether this will work on my vehicle? Ford part # BT4Z-9G757-A http://m.ebay.com/itm/2011-2014-Ford-Edge-Sport-Pedals-/271974126222?nav=SEARCH I got all this fancy ambient lighting in the car and I figured some flashier sporty looking pedals might be more appropriate.
  9. Success!! The new 2011-2014 mirror was delivered about 5 minutes ago. Got it bolted onto my 2009 and it plugged right in no problem. Everything works great. Ordering the passenger side mirror in a couple minutes. When that comes in, I'll get the mirror caps painted to match the car and we'll be in business. I'll post some pics of today's mock-up in a little while.
  10. Hey there... What is this video of again exactly? Model year, engine, and what was modified? I like that sound a lot but I want to make sure I understand who did what here. Can you post some more videos please? Startup, idle, slow acceleration from a stop perhaps?
  11. Yes, that's what the plan is if needed. Looks like the mirror should arrive Thursday. Will provide an update ASAP!
  12. Oh yeah... Forgot to mention that I want some black Lincoln center caps for the TSW's and some black 4" tips on whatever exhaust setup I go with... Also looking at some middle of the road tinting options for the rear tail lights and side markers! Got a neat idea for that. Stealthy... That oughtta get some of you folks all riled up! Lol
  13. Since it's been kinda dead on here, I figured I'd let you all in on what I'm considering for the MKX... If you're on the mobile version, you probably don't see my sig so I'll mention again that it's a 2009 Tuxedo Black Lincoln MKX Limited Edition AWD (with the black grille). Pushing around 80,000 miles, bought it used in 2013, and it's been a nice car. I slapped a K&N air filter in the stock box about a year ago, I've used Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-20 and K&N oil filters since I got the vehicle and I religiously change the oil every 5000 miles. So far I've done a 4 wheel brake job with all Motorcraft rotors and pads, new outer tie rod ends, a driver side rear wheel bearing, and a set of Toyo Versado CUV P245/50R20 tires. I got the two front windows tinted to match the rest of the stock window tint and got a dark tint strip across the top of the windshield. Now... What I envision in the big picture here is some minor appearance changes and some performance mods to enhance the driving experience. "Why",You ask? Well, I guess that's just the kind of guy I am. I typically keep my vehicles for a long time. So, in an effort to keep things fresh, I can't leave anything alone I guess. Anyway.. The first thing I'm doing is conducting a little experiment with the side mirrors. I'm going to attempt to replace my stock 09 chrome capped mirrors with some black paint to match 2011-2014 style Edge mirrors. I just like the way they look better and I'm going to de-chrome my car a little... Next, I'm thinking H&R springs. Probably getting to be about due for new shocks and struts anyway so I plan to do that while we're in there. I like the idea of lowering it slightly and improving the handling a bit. I will probably paint the calipers at some point during or around this process and maybe slap some prettier Stoptech drilled rotors and a new set of Hawk pads in there too. Because... After that, I want some 20X8.5 Black TSW Max wheels. Not negotiable... Super badass looking and that's where my tastes lead me. Now onto performance... I must have at least an intake, exhaust, and tune combo. It's what I always do and this vehicle will not change that trend. Lol I dig the Gibson cat back sound in comparison to the Magnaflow as far as exhaust kits go. Magnaflow sounds good too but From the videos I've seen, Gibson won that contest. Now with the fact that Gibson is a kit made for the FWD cars, that means that there will have to be modifications. So I don't really know what I'm going to do there yet because if I have buy the kit just to take it to a muffler shop to modify, I might as well just have them build me a kit. It would no doubt be the more inexpensive way to go... Still undecided. Intake wise, I'm leaning towards the Weapon R Secret Weapon. I honestly just like the way it looks better than the K&N and I've heard nothing bad about them. Plus I may be able to find a way to rig their ram air tube off my lower grille somehow but I haven't really looked into it much yet. K&N intake isn't off the table completely but I'm not a fan of oiled filters anymore so if I went with that kit, I'd buy a dry filter for it from AFE or someone. Also thinking heavily about trying out the BBK 73mm throttle body for the 3.7L mustang. If it fits, which it should, it'll likely help performance all the way up the power band. I will be buying an SCT device and some custom tunes. (X4 or Livewire TS+) Seems like people are all about Torrie at unleashed tuning so I'll no doubt be at least talking to him. If anyone else has tried tunes from anyone else that they want to endorse, hit me up. I like the idea of the Livewire device mostly for the extra functionality and the ability to hook up a backup camera. Also up for consideration is the sprint booster. Just sounds like a fun mod. We'll see... So there you have it. Let's discuss!
  14. Soooooo..... Anyone out there do anything to their exhaust and want to talk about it? I'm still looking for ideas.
