  1. Haven't done anything with my exhaust yet. I've been tackling some other projects while I decide what to do. I too need to stop and talk to the muffler shop guys about custom options. Let me know what you come back with.
  2. Hey man! Sounds like a killer ride you got there! I'm looking into doing a custom exhaust setup on my MKX in the near future. Yours sounds pretty badass. Can you post up some more details + pics and videos of your setup? Hot rod Lincolns rule!
  3. My H&R springs are here. New shocks and struts have been ordered. I went with the KYB's. My new plan is to get the shocks, struts and springs done and re-aligned this month. I hope to have some before and after shots and a progress report up on here in a couple weeks if I can. I'm still planning on getting the brakes redone eventually. But I'll probably plan on getting all that stuff closer to when I can get my wheels. I'm thinking about starting in on some performance mods first. We'll see how it goes. I did order some new cheap pedal covers off eBay. I'm going to be experimenting with some VW and Volvo style pedals so hopefully I can get a combination that fits and looks good but we'll see how that goes. More on that to come when they get here from China.
  4. So, the testing is maybe 99.5% done. Yet custom tunes are likely built from identical base tunes for both vehicles. I'll call SCT and get back to you.
  5. The testing is done. It's the same engine and drivetrain as the Edge. The devices for the Edge have preloaded tunes.
  6. I agree... That's not my point. If I buy a device for 600 bucks, I want preloaded tunes on it regardless of whether they're super badass or not.
  7. I understand that. However, I'm curious as to why preloaded tunes are available on the SCT devices for the Ford Edge but are not available for the Lincoln MKX.
  8. Cool! I was just curious because I was looking at the Livewire TS+ on the SCT website and I forget the exact verbiage but I thought it said something along the lines that it didn't come with any tunes for my vehicle (09 MKX) and that custom tunes were required. Now, I assume that the PCM strategies for the Edge and MKX should be the same but I'm not sure, maybe the strategies are coded differently by VIN or something. Anyway, I'll make some calls and do some more digging. The Livewire is more expensive than the X4 and I like the extra features the Livewire provides but I also at least want some canned tunes on there due to the cost of the device even though I plan to get custom tunes written eventually anyway. That way I can buy the device sooner and compare any changes in HP, 0-60, MPG, etc when I add any mods with it and run canned tunes in the meantime as I change and add new parts. Then I'd get custom tunes written for it once I have it modded the way I want and have a baseline record of where it was in stock trim to compare to.
  9. What SCT device do you have? Did it come with canned tunes or did you buy custom tunes?
  10. I also want to do the intake and exhaust, but I'll be getting some custom SCT flash tunes to go with them. Aside from K&N, Weapon R also makes a cold air intake kit. Magnaflow and Gibson are the cat back choices and may or may not be a direct bolt-on depending on whether you have an AWD or FWD. You could also go with a custom exhaust setup instead. Seems like a lot of things changed on these vehicles during production in 2011 so make sure you examine your car closely to be sure you're ordering the right parts before you order them.
  11. I like Toyo. I've always had good luck with them. I currently run Toyo Versado CUV's on my MKX and Toyo Open Country R/T's on my Super Duty. Nice quiet ride, decent tread life, excellent all season traction, etc...
  12. Sweet looking ride man!!! I'm hopefully going to be doing similar stuff to mine soon.
  13. As of today I can check the side mirror project box off on the checklist as a success!!! Planning to start building up the parts pile to get her lowered next month. Doing H&R springs, most likely going with Motorcraft shocks and struts, Stoptech drilled rotors, Hawk HPS pads, new hardware packs on all 4 wheels, stainless steel brake lines, gloss black caliper paint, and possibly even 4 new wheel bearings. Needless to say, this next phase may take a little while.
  14. Ok folks.... Just got the new, freshly painted 11-14 Edge Mirrors installed on my 09 MKX. Looks pretty dang sharp if you ask me but I'm biased. Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: ...and After again: Probably good for an extra 10HP and 5MPG... Lost a little low end TQ though. Lol
