  1. Hey, jmr061. My mistake was starting with the left side rather than the bottom. The left side really didn't want to pop out, and when it finally did, the top edge seemed to bind. Once the bottom clip let loose, I figured I was good. But it kept slipping back into the socket. I used all kinds of tools, wedges, pliers, etc. to try and wiggle it free. Finally, since I figured I wasn't keeping the old one anyway, I used needle-nosed pliers to pull it loose. The front of the hub came off from the back (though the wires remained attached to the back). Once I unclipped the wires and re-connected things, it took about a minute -- though I did test the new hub before snapping it into place. A couple of bloody knuckles and a few choice words, all was well.
  2. Well THAT (replacing the USB hub in my Edge so I could have Car Play) took longer than expected. Word to the wise who plan to swap USB hubs -- it looks deceptively easy. Pop out the old one, plug in the new one and pop it back in. With new trim tools and detailed advice from this thread and from threads on other forums, I thought I was ready, but that hub is in there really, really tight. I essentially had to destroy the old hub to get it out -- it came out in two pieces. (I'm fairly handy with tools, but I even called a local dealer and set up a Monday appointment to have them do the swap, just in case.) If you don't mind destroying the old hub, it's easier I guess. LOL. Fortunately, no damage to the cubby area, except the two little round bumpers in the front corners came out. Pix attached of the old and busted hub, as well as how the new one looks. Good luck peeps!
  3. Once you get the update loaded, you should be good to go. I see AA as an option now (but I have an iPhone and am awaiting delivery of the USB hub needed for that to work). Good luck!
  4. HI Ben. Yes. I'm on a MacBook Pro running macOS Sierra (earlier, recent versions should work as well). I downloaded the update, unzipped it, then copied the resulting files to a flash drive I had already reformatted using Disk Utility. I chose the ExFat format in Disk Utility and had no trouble. The install went smoothly though it did take Navigation a couple if recycles to show up properly.
  5. Success! The second re-cycle brought the navigation back! I was at V1, jmr061 -- I checked beforehand to be sure. Thanks for your help in this. (Now, I just have to wait for my USB hub to arrive in a couple of days to complete the process.)
  6. Thanks, Ray. I assume when you say reboot the radio, you don't mean an official "reset" of the Sync 3 system? (Sorry, I'm fairly new to the Edge and coming from a techy background reboot can mean different things.) Car has been sitting about an hour. I'll head out soon and fire it up and see what happens and then report back. Also this has happened to a couple of other people (the "maps loading" issue, not the issue SweetCandyEdge noted). See: http://www.f150forum.com/f118/current-sync-3-carplay-android-auto-information-360660/index58/
  7. I also installed the update on my Edge Sport with navigation. Everything went as planned (based on what others have reported.) Took about 20-25 minutes, got the notification the update had been applied, turned off vehicle and kept driving for another half hour. Navigation never came back. I have a "Maps loading" message with the two circles going around, but maps never loaded. I tapped on audio, and that screen came back, but now can't even get back to the Nav screen. Tapping the button for it does nothing. When I click on the Home button, I get the usual Home Screen, and where the Nav should be (left side) is the Maps loading message. I'm hoping after I let the car sit and restart it'll come back. So I guess user beware. (I did check and the system seems have updated everywhere else.) Any advice welcome!
  8. Thanks, folks! Yes, junehhan, I'm looking forward to really enjoying it once I'm past the break-in period!

  15. Just getting my feet wet here after all of one day with my new 2016 Edge Sport (in luscious Ruby Red). Picked it up after an evening of bargaining on Nov. 30 -- ah, the end-of-month wheeling and dealing. This one had been on the showroom floor since June (protected from the elements and bad test-drivers) and had 9 miles on it when I did the test drive. Fun, fun, fun to drive and really sharp (edgy?) style and design, both inside and out. It's got the 401A package, the cold weather package and the panoramic sunroof.... Now if we can just pry an Apple CarPlay update from Ford -- I know, I know, by the end of the year -- I'll be a completely happy camper. I've been perusing the forum already and learning tons. Two pics: on the lot waiting to go home and, later in the day, in the driveway!
