  1. 2011 SEL Latest updates, March 4, 2017 Sync2 - V3.8 EA5T-14D544-AD March 10, 2017 Sync2- V3.10 EA5T-14D544-BA Recently (well last year I guess) got the new (then) IPhone X. Deleted my old blue tooth pairing of the old phone and paired the new (then) IPhone X. Since then to current day the phone doesn't seem to jive with the system, my caller ID doesn't show up, contracts wont transfer over... minor stuff but still frustrating. the phone works but the minor stuff that used work well on my other IPhone (6 Plus) don't. has anyone ran into this issue and/or know of a fix? I checked the ford sync page and they say my system is all up to date, so not sure where to go from here. its been this way since I paired the IPhone X. thanks jake
  2. Well,,, don't ask me why exactly. but the half can of CRC all over the locking latch fixed it for me. I've had that light on for well over a month and then I tried the electrical cleaner. I spayed it in the "sweet spot" as was posted here and the light went out and has not been back on. thanks for the information
  3. Just to keep an old thread alive I have a 2011 SEL, No home link, but wanted it. After reading here on the forum, sounded like something that could added fairly cheap. Looking on eBay, a visor with the home link was (new) over 300, used maybe 150. So I just went with the option 2 and went to a local junk yard and purchased a Homelink transmitter from a Ford car. no biggy 5 bucks I was worried about separating the fabric on the visor so back to eBay I went to find an "extra" visor with illumination just incase I botched the install on my visor. Found one for 30 bucks, free shipping. the part arrived yesterday and I got lucky, the used visor (in super good condition) came with the transmitter. The install was literally unplug the old one and plug in the new one. I guess I was lucky on the price point. But when looking on EBay, look at the pictures, the salvage yards usually have that disclaimer that the picture may not reflect the part you will actually get, but in this case it did. Very nice and very inexpensive. Thanks everyone!
  4. Thanks much to Rusty and Candurin. Im going to get this thing on order and have a summer project. Not much use for it at that time of year but it will be ready for the Winter. thanks again! Jake
  5. Thanks so much! I was just really confused based on the mass of information. I was thinking "it really can't be that simple". plug in one wire, program and ta-da, instant remote start. But it sounds like that is all there is to it. One other question. I have seen many reference to the display showing information. After this is "activated" is there something that should pop up on the sync 2 screen or the speedo console in the sync information boxes? And I am glad your still here, on a lot of forums, folks come and go and I noticed in your profile that October was you last active date, so it was a crap shoot... Oh, one more question, the hood switch. On the passenger side under the hood, I see a plug that seems to plug into nothing but what appears to be a blank off receptacle and above it is a hole in the cowl. Is that the plug for the hood switch?
  6. Hi--- I'm new and with most new folks as they come into forum, I have a question I have a 2011 SEL and have been looking into adding the remote start. I came across this thread and it is full of awesome information and a knowledge base well beyond what I have. I have focused on the section in this thread that RustyEdge and Candurin had going a few pages back. it sounds like he installed the kit that I have been looking at, BC3Z-19G364-A. As Rusty mentioned, it basically has an antenna and one wire. The thread that has all the pictures in it had a lot more "stuff" to hook up. so in a nut shell, where/what exactly does the one wire connect to? I assume one end to the antenna and the other someplace on a box in the right inside panel in the back. I sent Rusty a message on here, but not sure if he is still active So sorry, to bring this all back up but any help would be great. Thanks Jake
