  1. Still waiting for my tune. I'm basically stock, just a 170 tstat. I will post draggy compares when I get it. I have a merge ramp where where I am hoping to break under 6 secs in the 0-60. My tune will be 91 octane. My edge is heavy, 4780 according to a truck scale. My best is 6.09 on 91 octane with unleashed. The 2 things I want examined are the early shift in 1st and the "messy" looking upshift from 2->3.

@Special_K how does your WoT compare to this:

Hey bud, all proprietary info.  I can answer some questions over pm if you like.

Here is the BCB Terms from the website:

    LICENSE RESTRICTIONS
By installing and using the Tuning IP or Tuning Product, the Customer agrees that they will not: (a) rent, lease, reproduce, modify, adapt, create derivative works of, distribute, sell, sublicense, transfer, or provide access to the Tuning IP or Tuning Product to any third party, (b) use the Products for the benefit of any third party, (c) incorporate the Tuning IP or Tuning Product into a product or service the Customer provides to a third party, (d) interfere with any license key mechanism in the Tuning IP or Tuning Product or otherwise circumvent mechanisms in the Products intended to limit your use, (e) reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, translate, or otherwise seek to obtain or derive the source code, underlying ideas, algorithms, to any Tuning IP, except as permitted by law, (f) remove or obscure any proprietary or other notices contained in any Product, (g) use or allow the use of the Product IP in contravention of any federal, state, local, foreign or other applicable laws, rules or regulations, (h) use the Product for purposes for which it is not designed, including but not limited to using the Tuning IP or Tuning Product on any vehicles that the Tuning IP is not explicitly designed for, or (g) publicly post or distribute Brew City Boost, LLC’s Data Logs to its Competitors.

So not sure Log files are violating the terms. That said I bought tune, and I retract my request.

  3. Nice write up:

    Some thoughts.

I like the rivets because I have found they hold well and keep things tight. Not sure if that is critical here. Working on BMWs is what turned my on to them. BTW you don't always have to drill, they can also be push through.

On mine guards, the external face my guards do line up well, but not the holes...weird. Maybe I screwed up and I will check next week

Question....any concern about paint rub? Pros/Cons of using the 3M protective Tape?

  4. Don't recall however, to keep my senility factor in check can you please direct me to where I stated "Sure" so I can also get a reality check?

BTW, I reviewed the edits/updates, apparently twice now, and they're definitely beneficial.

I'm adding this one to my library of supporting Tech Docs, good job...

my bad...I sent it to Special K for approval......

  5. Appreciate your efforts but that doesn't qualify as the DIY we were looking Fwd to.

Also its unclear what you did and that appeared to apply for the fronts, what about the rears.

Not trying to bust you out here however there's a few of us counting on your write up so we can make a purchase decsion...;-)

I will make a write-up that includes fronts and backs. I may even mount the other one differently as well and show that. But here is the rub, I thought I bought the same ones as a guy on the FB group, but he said his holes lined up!. Mine did not, I will even post those pics as well. So your mileage may very based on what you get!

It is still on my list to add to the H&R Spring install write-up. I'll even add my after install alignment data. (I'll mention that I did drop the complete rear subframe all at once, however it seems I as the only one to do that). I'll also add all the torque specs, those are always handy to have.

  6. Okay,

Today is the today to put on the mud guards. But after installing the front passenger one I stopped. I think it would be wise to put 3M protective tape on so I need to order some. The mud guard holes do not line up. So I drilled new hole and used plastic rivets. Attached are some photos

I left the existing push tabs implace to keep the existing holes plugged.

The very top rivet is in bad place it should be inset more for a better bite.

Attached is a pic of the rivet I used to replace the push tab rivets as the push tabs are too short.

  7. Well it is fly by wire...so one theory is the accelerator position did not get communicated to the ECU. Maybe check the connections around the pedal?

Do you have any monitoring tools? I believe the Phone app OBDII scanners can log the pedal position. OBDLink does have the PIDs.
