  1. Ok here we go . The front 6 pot brakes did not fit the 2016 21 inch Edge Sport OEM rims without the use of wheel spacers. I don't know about any other years or rim combinations. Every year or so manufactures change the rims and that can be a problem with fitment. Rotora had my car for a couple weeks designing a new system. That new improved brake system includes the electric rear parking brake, the anti lock brakes and lets the front 6 piston calipers with 380mm rotors, Drilled or Slotted ,fit the 21 inch OEM wheels without spacers. So the electric parking brake does work as original. The Anti Lock Brakes do work as original. And the front calipers do fit without the use of wheel spacers. These brakes kick ass and work so much better than stock it is not funny and yes they do cost more than Pep Boys life time brakes. To make things better Rotora is offering a special discount to forum members. Just mention Xtra to Loren. I make nothing on this, I am just helping out other Edge enthusiast on this site as I love these brakes and you will too.

  2. Never said intake air temp does not matter, and you completely disregard that some of the air is coming from the stock air intake. Not all the air is from under the hood. So far I cant tell the difference between the two , performance or milage difference. So far the only difference I can tell is the eye candy aspect of it . And if it does nothing more than that I am a happy camper. Time will tell as I have not even one tank of gas with it.

  3. I am located at the mouth of a canyon . Not just any canyon but the one that accesses lots of other canyon roads . The very same roads that every Los Angeles based Motorcycle and Auto magazine use for testing and photo shoots. Places like the Rock Store and Stunt Road to name some you may know of. So for me they are not overkill. To answer a few questions :The brakes have a very long service life, more than stock with the ceramic H-2 pads. As for the Drilled rotors, the holes are chamfered to help relieve stress and reduce cracking. They also offer an endurance slotted rotor that is used for racing that can be used on the street. As for over kill again, I understand you don't have to have these to go pick up the kids, but the feel of the brakes is worth it alone, not to mention the performance aspect and the killer looks. As for cost call ROTORA and ask for Loren tell him Extra from this forum sent you. He will hook you up.

  4. I am very happy with the performance of my intake . The oiled filter is not a problem as I have run one for thousands of miles with not one speck of oil or dirt in the intake runners. No problems with sensors, no problems with oil covering anything. Over oiling a filter can cause problems, but I have never seen what you refer to in thousands of miles of real world driving. As for hot air from under the hood , the filters sit in the bottom of the intake box next to the stock air intake . So they do recieve fresh cold air, they also suck in air from under the hood as you say. But in a turbo car the air is compressed and heats up anyway and then the hot compressed air is sent through a heat exchanger intercooler and the intake charge is then cooled before combustion. I understand what you are saying but this set up works great and IMHO looks great also.

  5. If I had the guts I would cut a hole in the hood, add a small scoop and seal the intake box to it . But as you say the Edge is not a race car. So I will run it as is. There have been no oil problems, no intake temp problems, and I don't expect any . This information is through use, not by something I saw someplace. By the way mine runs 5.6sec 0 to 60 . Perhaps a bit faster but I'm not talking about those mods yet, and I love the eye candy and hand fabrication aspects of it. Bench racing is fun as well.

  6. The Sema Show brakes were with custom rims so they would fit. They would not work on a stock Edge Sport with OEM rims . These brakes will fit the stock OEM 21 inch wheels, no wheel spacers needed. Rotora wanted to develop a set up that would work with OEM equipment, and had no wheel spacers. As they needed a stock Edge to do this, I loaned them mine so that they could develop the system. Hope that clears things up. This system was finished and ready for the public in March 2017. I worked directly with them on this project and this is first hand info. The brakes kick butt and look good too. They work with the Anti Lock Brake System and the Electric Parking Brake. I could not be happier.

  7. Hello Edge Sport Owners,

After looking for upgraded brakes for my Edge Sport and finding nothing.. I contacted Loren at Rotora Brakes and did he ever hook me up! Rotora is now the only manufacture that offers upgraded brakes for the Edge Sport. Six Piston Front with 380mm drilled rotors and Four piston 350mm drilled rotor rears. They also offer slotted rotors. This is a no compromise top of the line bolt on package . Call ROTORA and ask for Loren he will hook you up. Tell him EXTRA sent you.

  9. The filters sit in the bottom of the original air box. Fresh cool outside air is still feeding them and they are not getting all the air from under the hood. As for oil type filters I have run K&N for thousands of miles in my Explorer and the filter is very close to the hot wire in the intake . No oil build up of any kind or any other problems. I believe that when people clean their K&N filters, some over oil them causing the problems you speak of. On the Edge the filters are far away from the hot wire and the turbos. The intake air is compressed in the turbos ( heating it up ) and run to a heat exchanger to control the intake charge temp.
