Good advice. I'll stop chasing the latest and greatest tech and just aim for a fair deal on new 09/10.

I'm a Canuck looking to purchase (no finance) an Edge and F-150 from the USA between now and the early summer (flexible). Number of factors that I can't get a handle on: - bull(ish) economy reducing incentives and inventory & production reduced - re-tanking economy.... - 2011 models roll out in the summer - exchange rate All of the above factors with the exception of the 2011 release date require the crystal ball method of forecasting. Anyone have advice on when to purchase? End of Jan? End of Quarter? When 2011's are on the lot? Also, are there better States to purchase from (dismissing sales tax) or should I be able to get just as good a deal in NY as CA? Cheers

If I'm after an 09 or 10 Edge for the sake of a better deal, will the 2011 head unit work in either of those years?

Andy, where did you find the Florida dealer invoice + $1? We've got parents in St. Petersburg for the winter and a trip down has been talked about... Just not the drive back I'm on the hunt for an Edge and F-150.

The price difference I was referring to was for identical vehicle drive-away numbers.

Ford warranty is for North America so it is covered in Canada. You pay PST & GST plus about $200 to import/register in Canada. No duty since it is made in Canada. I've found at least a $6500 difference between the best negotiated deal which equals $7345 when you take into account the tax savings. Lot's of information around the web on this.

Have you narrowed down which states/incentives are the best to start with? Currently looking at MN, NY, IL, and CA.

Torontoian trying to figure out US pricing vs. Cdn as they are clearing out 08 models. On the hunt for the following: 08 Edge Limited AWD Black/Camel Class II Trailer Tow All Weather Rubber Mats Vista Roof Power Liftgate Rear Cargo Mgmt system We are travelling the California coast for a month in late September so we are open to purchasing within 10 hours of Toronto (Chicago, Boston, NY, VI, MI) or reasonable distance from San Fransisco.
