  1. First car I bought was a 2001 Ford Focus. Transmission blew out 3 years later (it was a used car). Then got a 2011 Hyundai Tucson Power Steering blew out after 4 months...twice. Just wasn't a fan. Traded it in for a 2011 Honda Element EX. Transmission died this year at 91,600 I sold it (which hurt badly), and got a 2017 Escape. Wasn't a fan. Returned it, got the Edge. I like it...but want SYNC 3 (or for now SiriusXM on the base - and the ability to play my ipod classic). Best car of them all? Without a doubt - 2011 Honda Element. Not even close.
  2. 2011 was the last year Honda made the Element. Since then the Element, Toyota FJ Cruiser, Toyota Scion, and Nissan Cube have all been discontinued. Only the Kia Soul remains. I did my homework. Believe you me. I was in between Subaru, Ford, and Hyundai. Had MANY emails; and did tons of research on the cars. Ford won out because it was more spacious, and with the dealership I bought it from, they have a Ford for Life program that will fix/replace any major issue with the car as long as you get the car serviced there. I usually use the dealership to do work anyway. That and my family has bought 8 cars from them, so...
  3. Hello all, I am new to the Edge and Ford family (although my family isn't...they only buy Ford's). I had my transmission on my 2011 Honda Element die out on me last month (LOVED that car) - but after looking tried the Escape, but was too uncomfortable. Got the base model of the 2017 Edge. The seats though are atrocious. I'll admit I'm not skinny...Not a blimp, but am overweight. I may be the only one...who knows...but the seats are hard to sit in as it causes massive pain to my back with arthritis in it and hurts my rear. So I bought Perfect Posture seat cushion and lumbar support, however now I'm so high, I can't see the stop lights without ducking. Has anyone had pain issues? Done anything? Also, since the base version doesn't have SiriusXM (for some reason), I added it aftermarket. I called Ford customer support and asked if I can switch the Sync 1 with Sync 3. They tell me that I can't. I called Crutchfield and they said it can be done but usually by the dealerships - and that the Edge, Escape, and Explorer have some issues with that. I called the dealer and they said they could do it for $2500 (saying the harness was $500 (Crutchfield has it for $130)). Has anyone heard of that? Prices?
