attached is the unit he replaced with the one I sold to him. So he should only need aim programming yeah? the unit has not been modified with forscan, as I pulled it cleanly from my edge.

the buyer has a 2011 explorer- he wants to return the unit i sold him saying that its incompatible. it just needs programming right? should i sent a return? the unit worked perfect when i pulled it from my vehicle

​Hi all, I sold a fully-functional MFT apim+screen combo after I successfully installed the Sync 3 equipment, and the guy who bought it is saying the GPS is not catching any signal at all. Similar to the Sync 3 apims, is there some kind of antenna that needs to be bought and installed? Just want to make sure I help my buyer out as much as possible. Thanks all!

Below is my most recent feedback email to Waze's Beta support team, describing my working Waze+Sync 3 combo: "This morning, Waze worked for me on my commute without a problem. As it is currently a known issue, the app is a little laggy, processing at low frames per second on my Sync 3 system. Outside of the slight lag issue, the app worked perfectly on my Sync 3 AppLink system in my 2015 Ford Edge Titanium. The vehicle was not originally equipped with Sync 3 capable hardware, but I installed it myself. The current known settings and specifications for my working system are below: Sync 3 version: Build 3.0.18093 (Vehicle has appropriate BuiltAs settings, which could have contributed to Waze working) iOS version: 11.3.1 Waze version: 4.39 (beta) Sync 3 settings: - CarPlay: Disabled (not deleted) - Mobile Apps: Enabled - Mobile Apps via USB: Enabled - Notifications permissions within Sync 3 Mobile Apps Settings: All enabled - Waze set as default navigation: Enabled iPhone Settings: - Location settings: all enabled within iPhone settings (Waze set to ‘always’, will test later on ‘while using’) - Waze access permissions: all enabled (notification preview settings allowed with/without phone unlocked) - Background data: all enabled - CarPlay settings: vehicle profile deleted - please test with and without your vehicle profile - Bluetooth: enabled and connected to the vehicle for voice and media Waze settings: - All default as when first installed - All permissions to access phone’s content enabled (contacts, location, calendar, microphone, etc.) Other things to note: - Sygic nav installed and confirmed working (Waze worked for the first time immediately after I installed and tested Sygic) - Alexa installed and confirmed working, with Waze set to default maps within Alexa (may be another reason Waze began working properly) Picture is blurry because I had to take it from my MacBook" EDIT: Also, phone does not seem to get too hot, but I enabled low battery mode anyway. I modified the as-built using Forscan, with everything updating correctly to match each specification of my vehicle. Still no joy with Waze - any ideas? CarPlay works, even though I don't use it lol

Candurin, just tried that and no luck. Should I seek a different sync 3 build? The APIM was pre-programmed with everything my car has available, so I didnt program the as-built data to it (yet)would that make a difference? Alexa and Accuwether work fine in applink, just waze is hanging on waiting for device

MFT to Sync 3 conversion complete, update to Sync 3 (build 18025), CarPlay and everything working. However, Waze hanging on "Waiting for Device" and will not advance past this point. Any ideas?

Having issues with getting power to the new sync 3 usb hub. Can I just tap the power into the cigarette lighter? Or does anyone know exactly which wires from the existing connector I need to tap into?

If it is the right screen, I will have the whole job done, all materials included, for under 500 bucks. Fingers crossed!!

If I I have to get mounts for the touchscreen I purchased, where do I get the mounting brackets for a 2015 Edge doing the sync 3 conversion? Ive looked everywhere and Im coming up empty handed.

Look at the touchscreen shown in this ebay listing, can anyone tell me if Ill need to find mounting brackets for the APIM, and wher is I can get them?

Candurin, thanks for the heads up. I had the seller send a video of the screen and APIM being operated to confirm the version. Navigation confirmed US- making out of this like a bandit for the whole deal.

Hi all, (Pardon me if this is not in proper forum etiquette, Ive dug around the forum and internet and havent been able to find concrete answers on this) Im new to the forum and relatively new to my vehicle, and Im hoping to get some precise info on a project I want to start. I have a 2015 Edge Titanium with integrated Nav, and I want to replace the MyFord Touch with the necessary hardware to: - Add Sync 3 compatibility - retain all current integration with MyFord Touch (I.e.: steering wheel controls, instrument cluster integration, etc) My current research concludes that I will need to source the following: - a touchscreen/info display from a 2016+ Edge - a Sync 3 APIM module with Nav (vehicle specific?) - Sync 3/CarPlay compatible USB hub Are there any other specific parts I will need in order to retain all functionality, while adding Sync 3?
